He was nice, informative, and knowledgeable. But in my opinion, my experience with the office procedures was distinctly unsatisfactory. After a weeks wait to get in, my appointment time was coded incorrectly, even though the orders and referral came directly from the office of my orthopedic surgeon. Ninety percent of my appointment time had to be used to correct this problem. Even extending into the next patients appointment time, this left minimal time for my treatment, and no time for administrivia. Here's a warning. When they want you to do an electronic signature, insist on getting a copy of the document that signature will be applied to before you sign. In my case, it didn't say what I was told it would say. And regardless of the time crunch, insist on getting cost information in writing. Medical paperwork can take time to sort out, so having a bill delayed is not unusual. I eventually found out that my bill was delayed because it was being sent to an address not my own. That means that my account information and some medical information is being sent to a stranger. In these days of identity theft, that's alarming. There are many places in northeast Illinois to get prosthetic care. If I had the opportunity to do it over again, I would choose someone other than Scheck & Siress or Ballert.

They wanted to charge me $2400 for the same thing now. I have found a local store that will get me a better product for $500. This is why we pay so much for medical insurance. The price of items using your insurance is grossly inflated! By the way Scheck and Siress is now The Hanger Clinic. Shame on you taking advantage of patients.

My son wore a cranial band (helmet), issued from another orthotics company, for about 8 weeks when…read morehe outgrew it. I was not satisfied with the final cephalic index (CI) numbers and thought he could use another band. I sought out Hanger Clinic for a second opinion. I had a consult with Sydney, who is the orthoticist who works with clients needing cranial bands. She listened to my concerns, was professional, and took the time to scan my son's head. I understood that it's difficult to improve cephalic index (CI) on individuals with brachycephaly (short, wide head), but wanted their estimation on what type of improvement my son could see with a second band. My thought was that if they could make improvements, I was fine paying out-of-pocket since I knew insurance would not cover a second band. I want to do the absolute best for my son, and there's only a small window where helmeting is an option: it's now or never. Sydney consulted their engineering team and got back to me, stating that they could likely improve it by 6mm. 6mm is pretty significant, so I agreed to go ahead with the helmet and was actually excited about the potential improvement (though not excited about several more months of sweaty helmet head, but whatever..)! Sydney placed the order for them to begin manufacturing it. There ended up being an issue with my pediatrican's office not sending the required paperwork. I ended up having to go in because they wanted to see my son. At that visit, the nurse practitioner called Sydney to get some more information. When she (NP) returned, she stated that Sydney told her that she wasn't sure why I was going through with the second band, and that I likely wouldn't see any improvement. This was an absolute SHOCK to me, since that was NOT communicated to me, ever. I was told that the expected CI improvement was 6mm! I would never be wiling to pay out-of-pocket ($1,500) for NO results! I really don't understand how all of that occurred, but obviously I backed out and told Sydney that I would not longer be pursuing a helmet. She was professional the entire time. It stinks, because I really liked her and thought we were on the same page with improving my son's Cephalic Index with another helmet. I don't understand how I was told one thing, and the nurse practitioner was told another. Luckily the issue occurred where the nurse practitioner had to call, because she ended up saving me the cost and headache of a band that apparently would have done nothing for my son. I'm very disappointed, but glad I didn't end up with a big bill and no results.

It was in-network. Yet this very simple procedure was not? The doctor on this visit is not associated with my insurance provider Cigna. Cigna explained on the E.O.B. out of network? I'm so confused, if you look it up Cigna states they are affiliated. I've never heard of anything like this. They should not be allowed under in-network for Cigna! The doctors are credentialed individually thru Cigna. Dr Garbula was the doctor covering for the surgeon who worked on my daughter previously. My daughter was seen in the Lombard office as an emergency. But so what. She could of been seen by doctors who were in-network elsewhere. So I guess it's the patient's responsibility to interview each doctor to ensure he or she is affiliated with their insurance provider and in-network? There are a ton of other doctors of which we could of sought care at versus going to this out of network doctor. Earlier remember my daughters surgery was covered. These doctors reside under the same provider group yet they accept different insurance? So damn confusing. Shame on me! I would of left a negative star if it let me. So furious .

I thought '1 more try', so I went to see Dr Hover. He took his time taking a thorough history of my issues and created a plan that worked for me. I went from being in daily pain to nearly pain-free. Many days, I do not have any pain. This has improved my quality of life immensely. The office was also understanding with my insurance taking so long to process claims, which is something that is always a challenge with insurance companies. I definitely recommend seeing Dr Hover, especially if you have had problems with other chiropractors.

Hover Chiropractic was first on the list of…read morerecommended care in my area, and it wasn't until after the treatment was completed that I found out Josh personally still has a contract with United Healthcare, but the office he works through (WholeHealth Chicago) does not. After a whopping $125 adjustment + "diagnosis," (conjecture) I found they weren't going to be able to run this charge through my health insurance. After having to pay out of pocket, I called the insurance company who they said they still had an active contract with Josh. I started going back and forth over email where they explained that there was no possible way to run the payment through Josh's contract, and so kindly recommended that I involve a third party service that, "could, potentially, cover out of network claims. But, they also might not." In frustration I said sarcastically, "it's nice to know your company cares," and left it at that. Shortly after, I received a call from Josh who said he saw the emails and offered me a free adjustment. As kind as that was, I don't know what happened in that free adjustment, but I ended up feeling so much worse for the next few days. I'm a bit more familiar with the healing process of back pain by now, and it's not beyond me that sometimes you can be in pain from the adjustment for a few days after, but this felt different. He offered to put me on a regiment of, "$60 per visit, probably a couple times a week? That's when we can really start the actual healing process, does that work for you? Okay good, that is as low as I could possibly make it." Instead, I went to a different chiropractor out of pocket, for a fraction of the price I previously paid, and got immediate/lasting results. There's something to be said about the care I received having an impact of the efficacy of the next chiropractor's work, but in my experience I've often left adjustments feeling generally better than before I came in. Following the two adjustments I received over the span of a week and a half, I can't say I ever really got that feeling. Overall, I would not recommend the treatment I received, and especially not for the price at which I received it.
