Been here several times over the years. We've purchased dinnerware, plates, bowls, and other kitchen items, and have always had a good experience. The salespeople are knowledgeable, the store is spacious and well organized, and the products are high quality. This visit, we were shopping for a replacement espresso machine after ours stopped working. These machines are complicated, expensive, and available at a wide range of price points. Fortunately, we connected with a salesperson who was clearly a coffee enthusiast. Conor spent a long time with us, sharing his own experience with several of the machines we were considering. He asked thoughtful questions about our coffee habits, preferences, and what we hoped to get out of a new machine. Rather than trying to sell us the most expensive model, he helped us find the one that was the best fit for us. After a lengthy discussion, we settled on a machine that checked all the right boxes. We had to return a few wedding items and have them reordered to us in California so that we didn't have to bring them back with us on the plane. I wanted a step higher and color than on registry.It was no problem with Terri. I am sorry I couldn't make it in that day but came in on Monday3/17/25.Terri day off. I love girls that are amazing in all ways, and cannot have children (Great & Barren). This is not that. Unfortunately. Located at the fancy and massive Mayfair Mall which is actually a crumbling relic of the old days, this is a really fancy Big Box store that usually rich people shop at and Barbie is not a huge fan, but we like browsing through here just to see how the other half lives and make sure that we never end up like that. My recent visit to Crate and Barrel was another failed errand. This time I was looking for a bed frame for my niece, pillows for a sofa, and outdoor cushions. Struck out on all three. Their stock of pillows was fairly low. The same for bed frames. Other furniture seemed poorly constructed or assembled, especially for the price. On the second floor staff were not busy, but offered no help. On the first floor, a helpful staffer looked up products online; I may do the same for pillows, but not likely for a bed. Outdoor cushions for a current line of furniture have been reduced to real or gray; not a fan. read more

The Mayfair C&B is one of the best Crate & Barrel stores I have been to. It is large, separated from the mall (I consider this to be important), and has an upstairs and downstairs. We have been here to shop for friends and family, as well as register for our own wedding. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. One of the sales team members was extra helpful to us when we sat in the store forever on a couch we wanted to buy. He gave us tips, listened to our concerns, and eventually recommended we wait a few weeks for a email coupon to arrive so we got the best deal. After that, we came back in and ordered the couch with him, and the process couldn't have been any smoother. Love the service, the products, and the store in general. read more

My experience at this location was not necessarily great. I purchased a gift online for a wedding and opted for in-store pickup. I have never been to this location. As soon as I walked in, I felt somewhat unwelcome. I was not the stereotypical Crate & Barrel shopper, and after a long wait in the check-out line, I was finally able to request the gift. It seemed because I wasn't purchasing anything in the store, no one really cared while I stood at the register awkwardly for several minutes while waiting for the gift to be brought up. I must be weird because Crate and Barrel doesn't really do it for me. Don't get me wrong - they have really, really nice stuff. It's high quality. The prices are slightly lower than Williams Sonoma. The staffers seem really nice and willing to help if needed. So why don't I love C&B? I can't explain it - it reminds me a lot of Pottery Barn in that I enjoy walking through every so often and thinking "hmm.. that certainly looks nice but who in god's name is going to pay $200 for a pillowcase?" And then I leave and go to Bed, Bath and Beyond which has similar stuff at lower prices and regularly sends me 20% off coupons. Coupon codes usually don't work for items you want as there are a million exclusions apparently. And to make experience even worse, the website accepts the code, but does not reduce price OR provide an explanation as to why. Let's go web dudes - a few extra lines of code here please. I've always liked crate and barrel so when I became single at 40 I decided to finally decided to get a kitchen island that I'd been waiting to register for if I ever got married. I went in on a weekday. Not many people in the store. No one greeted or helped me which is odd, I finally just went up to cash wrap and ordered it. The ladies helping were nice but gave the commission to one of the sales people who didn't show me an ounce of attention. Ewww! I did order two nice things. They told me it would be delivered at 1pm on February 7. I get a call at 8:30am when I'm Across town from a call center in India telling me they are outside. I call my building manager and a painter was going to let them in. A woman then calls me and is very rude about it... and would not take ownership for the lack of communication on the part of CB. She told me I had to call the local store .. yuck yuck!!!! Anyway the local store wasn't even open yet. I get home later and the kitchen island is in my kitchen but I. The box. Again WTF!!! I don't actually feel like getting carpal tunnel typing further but I went Austin did a half marathon over the weekend. Again arranged for The person to come to my apartment at 1pm and they never showed up!! Yet when I called the store... they didn't immediately apologize to me... they questioned if it was my fault... seriously how do people have jobs? Disappointing experience to be followed around the entire store collectively and as if they're secret service it was so obvious. I was coming into Christmas shop and decided not to buy anything because I was stared at with great prejudice every time I turned around. Very uncomfortable experience and more disappointing to be treated like that even while wearing my military service uniform. The store should definitely undergo some type of training to combat such prejudice. The longer you Wait the more sales you lose. I'll gladly talk to anyone above this store. read more

It's Crate and Barrel, you know what you're going to get. A bunch of standard house and kitchen wares at a price not as friendly as Target, but not as scary as Williams-Sonoma (for the record, I love both those other stores too). By far the best item I've bought at Crate & Barrel has been the "Table in a Bag". It's a low table that rolls up and goes into a bag like the one camping chair go into. It was great because I didn't feel pressured to buy it, didn't have to turn him down, make up an excuse, etc. Well we decided to buy the machine. He went out of his way to explain to me the return/exchange policy if I were to find that we don't love the machine as much as we thought we would. While I have no intention of returning the machine, it was very helpful. I can't think of any product I've bought from C&B that hasn't been quality or a time where I didn't get good service. I just wish there was one in Southridge or downtown Milwaukee so I didn't have to deal with Mayfair to go there. read more

I love that I can just pick out what I want to get them online and send it straight to their front door without having to hunt it down in the store. They also have some nicer kitchen/decorative stuff that you can pick up at a reasonable price - especially specialty stuff that you wouldn't find at your standard department store. read more

It's Crate and Barrel. You find all kinds of good things for your home, from furniture to housewares it's top notch. What is great about this place is when your wife drag's you to this haven of home decor, there are plenty of places to find other husbands hiding in corners sitting on the comfortable display furniture. They always seem to welcome you with that smirk that guys have when they were dragged to a store they don't want to be in. Most of the time we spend staring at our cell phones catching up on the latest sports scores, while sharing our fantasy leagues standings with each other. Overall, if you need home furnishings or the latest trendy gadget for your kitchen then check out this store but be prepared to spend a premium compared to other stores for their products. read more

I ordered a sectional sofa back in November 2020 and I still waiting for delivery! I was told that delivery will be in 6-8 weeks (Jan 2021) but I guess the sales person who placed my order did not know what she was talking about. I have followed up at least twice and each time, the estimated delivery date gets pushed farther away. Today, I called and the seemingly concerned lady I talked to said that the estimated date has been moved again! She said that she will look into what happened and that she will call me back within the day. Guess what..she did not. And by the way, my card was charged the full amount in November. It's nearly 6 months now and I still don't know when or if I ever will see the sofa. I purchased a couch from Ethan Allen before and the experience was the complete opposite. They even had their designer come to my house for free. I am getting tempted to cancel the order but my wife really likes the sofa. I will give it another couple of weeks to see what happens. Normally I LOVE Crate and Barrel. My fiancé and I have stopped in to this particular location twice in the past few months for registry returns. On both occasions, a particularly rude employee named Michelle ruined the experience for us. She was extremely dismissive. It is a shame, because all the other employees I have dealt with at this location are wonderful, but she has made it so that we genuinely don't want to go back to this location. read more

Ordered a Instant Pot online Thanksgiving night, never received an order acknowledgement email. Order page however noted item was in stock and I could pickup next morning. After fighting black Friday traffic to get thru mall parking lot, I was told item was not in stock. Later that evening I received an email noting my order was received (a day later?!?!) so I called the store and was told item would be in on truck Friday and I could pickup then. Next morning (Saturday) I receive an email noting order was cancelled, so I called store and am told it was noted I bought in store so my online order should be cancelled, really?!?!? I love walking through stores like this. Yes, I said walking. When you work in Higher Education, you learn very quickly that you'll probably never make enough to decorate your entire home in Crate & Barrel, but that doesn't mean you can't walk through and enjoy dreaming. It was quite busy and also quite cozy inside and I was a little bit worried about knocking things off shelves. It is a lovely store and has two levels. There is a little section with clearance items, which I am always excited about, but their clearance prices are still a bit out of my price range. I do love the variety of items you can choose from and even if I can't afford items from Crate & Barrel, I can always get ideas for DIY ;) read more

3 1/2 stars. We've been previous clients of this store. We really like many of the different varieties of many things that they have. Particularly different glass types. Highball, wine, tumblers, martini, etc... This time though, we purchased an expensive Duncan bronzed floor lamp (listed $399.00). It had to be back ordered which were we told it'd be available at their store on a Friday, and that they'd call us. We ordered on a Monday of the same week. Friday had come and gone, no call no floor lamp yet. We finally got a call the following week. So, we finally had picked up the lamp at our convenience. We like this floor lamp. I assembled it at home. It's a substantial, heavier better quality piece but not worth it's price. So anyway, a self sticking felt piece doesn't match the base's bottom as well as it should (made in China?!). One more side note here. Carefully check and see if their store items are on sale on the website (i.e. crateandbarrel.com). It was, at $319.99! I had to call the store of original purchase and we got the refund credit applied to our card. They said 14 days for price matching, and I never read that limit anywhere within their stated policy. Hmm. Overall, it was a good experience but a bit unknowledgable personnel. read more

Ordered something 8 business days ago and was told it would ship in 3-7 business days. When I called them, they could not tell me when it would ship, because it hadn't moved to the "tracking" stage. Woman told me she would contact the warehouse tomorrow to see if she could have it expedited to the "tracking stage" and get back to me. When I asked her if she could contact them now, she started talking in circles. When I asked how long it would take to ship after it was put into the tracking stage, which was not guaranteed, she said it would take an additional 3-7 business day. I said I would rather have a credit so I can get a different gift and have it on time. She said this also would take possibly 10 business days. I asked for the manager and asked for a credit and was told that my bank would be unusual if the credited my account sooner than that. She also said that the reason no one contacted me about my product not shipping is because that is not the store's job but the warehouse's job and they are backed up really far out. So don't expect to have your Christmas presents on time:( read more

My husband and I bought a bookcase from this location and decided based on the recommendation of the store clerk to pick up the item rather than have it delivered. We thought we would be able to fit the bookcase no problem in our Jeep, but upon further measuring realized the box was going to be too big. Nevertheless, we decided to go into the store to see if we could try to strap it in with the trunk open or something like that (which was worrisome because we would be driving on the highway with it). When we got to the store, we pulled up to the warehouse door which was easy to find and rang the doorbell. The guy who helped us (didn't catch his name) was SO helpful. Saw the Jeep and immediately told us what to do to fit the bookcase without having to strap anything down or leave the trunk open. Brought out the box right away and put it in the car no problem. Can't say enough about how professional the staff is at this location. read more
