While completely lovable, he was out of control when he first came to our house. While playing in the back yard, he nearly bit my BFF because he was so excited about running around and playing. I had taken another, far more docile dog to K9 Instincts for boarding for many years. Matt & his staff were exceptionally kind and caring to Rachel. I knew they also did training so I decided to call and have Axle evaluated. Axle went for a 3 week "boot camp" and it was completely worth the time and expense. Even though it's "shock collar" training, it completely transformed his behavior. After the first three or four months, we began to use the collar periodically in situations where we knew he may have some problems (he was rescued from a fighting dog situation, so he still struggles with other dogs). It's now really a pleasure to be out and about with Axle. While talking, Matt mentioned that I would probably enjoy Axle much more with training. He was completely right. I no longer have anxiety that Axle will be out of control and a threat to others.

I thought Brittany was very rude, condescending and acted like my dog had the worst behaviors of any dog. She is not aggressive and does not behave badly; she is just very vocal and reactive to other dogs when on leash. When I went back to pick her up, I noticed a big difference in her and was not happy about that. I feel like I got a very timid dog back and it took us about a year to get her back to her old self. Does she come when called and stay when I put her in a down and stay, sure, but she is still very vocal and still reactive to other dogs when on leash. So basically, they did not fix the issue that I brought her in for. The training is definitely not worth the money paid. I would not recommend this facility for training. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that you can get trained with your dog.

Sydney appeared on the surface to be a knowledgeable dog trainer but she lacks effective communication skills and applies questionable methods in her training of reactive dogs. While my primary issue resides in her poor communication I do recall one occasion where she pulled Odin's slip lead so tight while he was barking at a dog passing by that you could hear it choking him. We had multiple sessions that had same day cancellations on their end. Which is a double standard considering their policy for their customers requires at least 24 hours notice or it will result in a loss of a session or a $65 fee. They definitely value their time and money more than yours. On one occasion I had to reach out to her the morning of our scheduled session to confirm we were still on. She responded 6 hours prior to our session that she had an evaluation that was going to overlap because she forgot to follow up with me. The appointment was rescheduled. On a separate occasion we had a group training session scheduled but the other dogs canceled an hour and a half prior to the session. She said she would reach out that day or the next to reschedule. Two weeks had passed and I hadn't heard a word. I had to reach out to her. She replied by saying "my b for not getting back to you, weekends have been busy busy." We had an exchange via text and she ultimately decided she no longer wanted to work together and she put me in contact with Joe. He offered two sessions with him or a $250 refund. I paid $2,500 up front with the agreement that Odin's training didn't have a set number of sessions but rather we would work with him until he was good to go. Joe undermined that agreement when he offered only 2 sessions. Had he decided to honor my previous agreement with Sydney I would have taken that offer. I didn't agree on the $250 refund since they had only accomplished basic obedience training with Odin. Which he was already well versed in when in a calm environment. One session consisted of her feeding Odin Pirates Booty from a muzzle for 40 minutes. They said in their session confirmations that the session will last an hour. Very rarely was this the case and most of our sessions ran below that time frame. Odin's real issue was resource guarding and his reactivity to other dogs and children. That training was never completed. I do take responsibility for removing the rubber piece off of the e-collar because I thought it was on there to protect water from getting in and I was attempting to charge it. However, the new e-collar they ordered had been in for some time and we never began working with it. Also, they get the cheapest e-collars they can pass with. You're better off buying your own. Which I did. Even though I didn't agree on the $250 refund Joe took it upon himself to refund it to my account anyway. I also never received the new e-collar which he stated was the reason he wouldn't refund more. As a side note, they claim to make training plans that adapt to the dog and the owners needs. Sydney never asked me to demonstrate how Odin walked with me on leash. Rather she had a generic format she implemented instead. At the end of the day I feel they're highly dependent on the e-collar for their training, have very poor customer service and need to develop a stronger work ethic. I would highly recommend seeking training from a more reputable, professional and qualified trainer.

You should reach out to the reviewer before you effect a business owner in a negative way. AND AGAIN: Every once in a while you make a decision on blind faith and it pays off BIG TIME. We rescued a 12 week old puppy from Texas and quickly learned we needed pro help as we haven't been puppy parents for 20 years and this little girl was a nutjob and may have been heading down a bad path behavior wise. Kristin got right back to me after my initial web page inquiry. When she arrived, she was relaxed and professional and her kind, caring, genuine personality was obvious from the start. She CARES about our furbaby. Her training skills were so effective even from the initial consultation that this little pup was learning: come, sit, shake and down (heel) and most important to us was her going in her crate when asked as this is something we really want her to master and be comfortable with. Kristin made it known that our role is crucial in her training and gave us handouts for our homework and skills to be met. By the second session, our pupper was learning: "touch" (snoot boops), learning to jump into her bed and "leave it" (biting stuff) and stay. We are able to redirect the evening zoomy/crazy time with physical and mental workouts for her that is good for all of us. The entire time during these sessions, Kristin is upbeat, fun and it really feels like we've known her forever. We trust her to do the best thing for all of us. I'm so happy we connected with her. I am excited for the future of what this little doggo is going to learn, master and how her confidence is going to grow. You cannot go wrong choosing her to help with your furkids. Thank you Kristin!!
