1st experience: Chai tea exceeded my expectations. Only place I will order chai tea from. (Ordered inside and gave tip, no problem) 2nd experience: After trying it here I decided to come back and go through drive thru. That experience was very weird. So I ordered my cold chai tea and then I get the bill and the only trying I can see is three different boxes with different prices in total. I then Figured out it was for the tip!!!! What I don't like is places who shove "you must tip" guilt trip. I had the drive thru window gal stare at me as I try to figure this tiny recipe out. The layout was so confusing that it was hard to find the no tip box and just sign the damn paper. I know I made a confused face and then a irritated face after I figured out what I was looking at. I normally tip, but come on .... That layout of the recipe called for a tip. Then when I just signed with NO tip, the gal knew I did so and gave me an attitude by grabbing the clip board and shutting drive thru window with force. Mind you, I observed her interaction with the customer in front of me before I got to the window and she was a chatter box with them in the car but it was after she got the clip board back (im assuming she got a very well tip.) I drive off feeling offended and annoyed. Yes the tea is fab, but I def don't like the pressure of that. Not cool. I discovered this place a while back when I was in my phase of wanting to try all the local coffee shops I could find in Tucson. I don't think I ever completely succeeded that..., but I was very glad to have found Crave. Although it's a rather small coffee place that can fill up quickly during busy times, I have never felt claustrophobic or cramped. The seating is nicely arranged, so every customer gets their personal space The atmosphere is great. Very clean, mod, and cheerful. The coffee is top-notch quality and if you are ever in a hurry, they do have a drive through. They also serve a small selection of cute and delicious homemade pastries, desserts, and paninis. Moreover, the baristas are extremely friendly. I mostly came here to study especially on those days when I couldn't stand staying at the UofA library anymore or I just had to find a hide-out from all those distractions at my apartment. Outlet's galore! So, never had a problem with my laptop running out of juice. BUT I have to warn you, this place can get pretty cold! The owners don't seem to mind cranking down the a/c... Personally, I freeze easily, but to be safe, you should bring a light jacket. Overall, give Crave a go! read more

This was our first time here. The food was very good. The latte was great. The coffee in it was really smooth and not bitter. My stomach didn't start burning after drinking it. This is one place in Tucson that I am super happy with. As far as coffee shops go, this place is as good as it gets. This is why I think Crave is such a great place: 1. This place has regular, traditional iced coffee on the menu. Some coffee shops automatically give you cold brew when you ask for iced coffee. I find cold brew to be truly repulsive, so I very much appreciate that the menu at Crave is clearly marked. No unpleasant mouth surprises at this place. 2. Tons of open floor space. It is easy to dawdle about without tripping over a cord or someone's backpack. 3. Many surfaces. The tables and counter tops are so large and plentiful that you never have to worry about finding a place for your laptop and books. 4. Friendly staff. Everyone has a smile on their face. 5. Their stuff tastes good. Their coffee is great. Their food is great. Everything tastes great. 6. Large menu. They change their food menu multiple times per day (I believe thrice daily). There's a lot to discover. 7. Modern design. You'll feel like you've finally made it big once you sit at one of their tree trunk tables or chairs. Or how about their custom-welded table tops? Oooo. 8. Cleanliness...things are clean. 9. Bonus: There are a lot of attractive customers here. I'm not sure what the management does to get them here. Crave was a pleasant surprise. It really shouldn't have been because of all the good reviews. It was a bit of a drive from where we came from, so with that our mood was slightly soured. This may or may not have become my newest "must stop" whenever I'm in Tucson! I needed a pick me up after flying in and happened to Yelp these guys. I will tell you what: that picture of a gorgeous cup of joe does NOT do this place justice! It's such an inviting atmosphere for working. Lots of different types of seating, including outdoors. The beans themselves are roasted to perfection. I had an espresso and it was smoother than some of my best finds in Italy! I also had to do a double check when I was rung up. The pricing here is MORE than fair - I almost felt like I was stealing! This is such an incredible experience and value for your buds and wallet. I unfortunately did not get a chance to try any of the food but the way it is displayed looks like it's out of a magazine. The staff is polite, quick and really proud of their caffeine haven. I am a morning regular at Crave, where (as a creature of habit) I generally order a large cafe au lait and a breakfast sandwich. Not only is the coffee phenomenal and the breakfast sandwich one of the best in town, but the staff is always super friendly and efficient. Because I patronize Crave so much, occasionally they will even have my drink waiting for me by the register by the time I am ready to pay. Small touches like that make me feel recognized and appreciated - and in a society where disconnect is becoming more of the norm, we should support businesses like Crave that foster a feeling of familiarity and community. I had a small mocha and drank it there while doing some work. The barista brought it out to me with foam art and all. The drink was smooth and not overly sweet at all. The Ghirardelli chocolate taste was a definite plus and was noticeable without making the drink too sweet. The coffe was also strong such that I had a buzz when I walked out. I also had a cranberry scone which also was "right on" by not being too sweet or too dry. Free wifi was fast. I also couldn't help but notice how hard the barista and co-workers were continuously on their feet making the cafe feel clean and pleasant to be in. I came here when this place first opened and visited a few times when the next owner took over, at least three years ago, I'm guessing. I don't know how many owners this place has had since then. Thanks to Yelp, I read that new owners were in place, etc., so decided to try it again. Pleasant staff, calmer music, looks like a comfortable place to hang out for a little while, free wifi. This place is by far one of my favorite study spots in Tucson. It's large and spacious with plenty of tables and wifi. They have sandwiches and crepes on the menu, so you don't have to go elsewhere for food if you have a long day of studying planned. My favorite things on the menu are the iced green tea latte, turkey sandwich and chicken sandwich. My least favorite thing is the havarti and tuna crepe (the sweetness of the crepe just does not go with tuna!). Its typically quiter on weekdays before 4pm, but for the most part people are respectful and not obscenely loud. In my experience, most people there are working on something, which is helpful if you're one of those people that needs to be around other people studying to get stuff done. read more

I don't really like coming inside because the staff always seems annoyed that you're there. They don't even say hi or greet you when you walk in. The coffee is good and so are the cakes, but if you want a flavored tea, good luck. I asked for an iced black tea with peach syrup and the barista told me they didn't have it but they could add juice or a different syrup, so I asked about their selection. He simply pointed to the bottled syrup behind the bar 6 feet away and didn't say anything. Dude, I can't read the bottles from here and even if I could the labels aren't facing forward. I ordered an iced raspberry black tea because it was the only flavor I could make out and when I received it the ice was mostly melted, the tea was lukewarm, and hardly any syrup in it. After that I just decided to stick with the drive thru, which has no menu near it by the way, you just drive up to the window and order so you better know what you want before you get there. At least that way you don't have to deal with rude and impatient baristas/cashiers. Make that make sense! The drive thru cashier was always nicer and more patient. They do make good caramel macchiatos so I'll give them that, but they need to learn basic manners + how to be nice to customers who just want their daily caffeine fix. read more

It's a nice simple cafe, served by happy and pleasant faces, that seem genuine and as if they could whisk away your troubles with a little cup of coffee. It's a laidback, comfortable atmosphere, with a European presence. The coffee is good quality, never weak nor bitter here, and considering there aren't many drive-thru coffee bars around, it works great for me. The price is right and I've only had mistakes on my order a couple times. The only reason I didn't rate 4 or 5 stars is that I always have to yell my order into the loudspeaker, due to the fact the speaker is so close to Broadway, they can't hear me when the traffic whizzes by (yelling an order in the morning, pre-coffee isn't a strong suit of mine) . And, the other reason being that one of the baristas there gave me an odd interview on why I didn't want foam on my latte. Although he was a nice friendly guy, I really just wanted to get my coffee and go, my brain doesn't function until I have had my nice, strong post-caffeine injection. The usual crowd is a mix of students and professionals that work in the area it's a great place to study since there is a lot of natural light and usually quite enough to concentrate.
