Several years ago, there used to be a formal wear shop that occupied the end suite in the Harvard Square Shopping Center that is now the home of Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ. It's a national fast-casual restaurant that has spread to Michigan with this first franchise in Canton. The inside was set up like a sports bar with multiple flat screens, a self-serve tap system, and even a couple of stalls for axe throwing. You order at the service counter and take a number to a table so the workers can locate where to bring your food/drink. The menu was a bar food paradise with an emphasis on hot dogs. Ten different "Craveable Dogs" made up most of one menu screen. The second screen showed the salads, sandwiches, bowls, BBQ plates, and desserts. The last screen listed chicken wings, munchies, sides, and customer favs. I am a fan of barbeque, but something about the number of hot dog varieties drew me to order a couple of them for my meal. Most were priced between $6.95 and $7.95 each which was expensive for the local market. I picked the initial two on the list which were a Chili Cheese Dog and a Chicago Dog. The first was an all-beef frank topped with chili and cheddar cheese as described by its name. Metro Detroit is known for coney dogs. This version was like a bad marriage between a coney and a chili dog from Cincinnati. The cheddar cheese was applied in large shreds and not melted well at all. The second was only slightly better in terms of replicating a city's iconic food staple. The all-beef frank was dressed with diced onion and tomato, relish, sport peppers, and yellow mustard. No poppy seed bun was used, and there was no pickle spear included. Both are key components of a Chicago Dog. Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ is supposed to open a location in my hometown shortly. Based on what I experienced here, the food quality and prices were at a two star level. I added one star to my rating because of the spacious seating arrangement and cool features like the axe throwing and beer wall. read more

Very unimpressed. This place advertises itself as a BBQ and hot dog restaurant. The menu has attractive looking food on paper, but the quality is on par with an Applebee's or TGI Fridays. I got the brisket mac and cheese which had little flavor and the brisket was chewy. The mac and cheese was just okay and needed the BBQ sauce to elevate it a bit. I also got a Chicago style dog, which I didn't post a pic of because it looked bad from a presentation standpoint. If I wanna watch a game with a group of friends I would definitely consider it an option as it has a bar and TVs all around. Don't come here expecting authentic BBQ though. read more

We visited this place for my sisters birthday. We had a chance to talk with the owner and he is very friendly and provided excellent customer service for my family and I !! The hot dogs are delicious, the atmosphere was cool and laid back. They also have something called a beer card where you can free pour your own beer/ cocktails. I had the run punch. Again, this place does not disappoint. It's the Big10 championship on the multitude of TVs and the huge portion of nachos were a hit with the fam. The Mac & Brisket sandwich was phenomenal, too. Whew chile! This is the new spot. I haven't been back since we went but I will keep dreaming about it. It's not just the food - we only tried the chicago and Mac and cheese dogs and they were great - it's the whole package. The people are super nice. The ax throwing is fun, even for newbies. They have a lil kids area in case you were wondering. There's a DRINK WALL because they decided they wanted to top their own awesome. Last, the vibe is just there. A place you want to frequent often and where they know your name. I don't drink beer, so I can't speak to that but there's so many and some ciders. The drink wall includes some cocktails too and that rum punch is so good! And strong? You get a little card to put into the machine, and they have precautions so you don't get too tipsy. They also have karaoke and trivia nights, so I'll check them out again for that to see if it's just the perfect place. Highly recommend for birthdays, special occasions, or just to decompress. The food was terrible. It tasted like cafeteria food but worse. The macaroni and cheese was Stouffer's I think. Overpriced at $12.95. The brisket atop was measly and shriveled. The hot dogs and buns had very little flavor. Everything took a long time to come out and was luke or cold. The (frozen) fries were not good, a small portion for $4. Tonight was the second time that we tried this establishment. The first time food was not great and cold but since they had just opened we thought we would give them another shot. So tonight we ordered online since no one would pick up the telephone when we called. When we picked up our order there was only one couple leaving. No one dining in or waiting for an order. Picked up food on time (my husband had to wait for it) and order was wrong and cold again. We ordered one pork sandwich and one brisket sandwich but received 2 pork sandwiches. We live right around the corner so it should have been hot still. We are so disappointed. I could understand messing up an order if they were busy but like I said previously no one was in the restaurant. Fun place. I came to check it out and participate in the Sporcle trivia they offer on Monday nights. The Chicago dog was great! Very flavorful and not skimpy on the toppings. The portion was substantial, too. Pretzel appetizer was ok. I'm looking forward to trying out other options. Beer wall is a lot of fun if you would like to try things you might not generally try. Wife and I went later at night because it was one of the only places open. The menu had our mouths watering and to say we were excited was an understatement. She wasn't too hungry so she only ordered Chili Cheese Fries, while I on the other hand was starving so I got two hot dogs - Chicago Style Hot Dog and a Nacho Dog. The hot dogs were good, with the toppings being the shining point. The hot dogs themselves were visible while ordering and were rolling on rollers like a 7/11. The fries had to be remade, then they were given to the wrong table and had to be remade again. When they finally came out, the chili tasted (and I'd put money on it being this) like canned Hormel chili. The shredded cheese served on top of the chili cheese fries was cold and the portion to price ratio was terrible (6 dollars for a literal handful of fries). Pretty good. Ordered take out for two hot dogs with chili, mustard, and onions. It seemed pricey ($13) for what I ordered, but maybe that's because I'm comparing it to Leo's, where I can get the same thing (slightly smaller) for under $6. My husband ordered the sausage with brisket and cheese, and said the sausage was very good but the cheese was too much. Oh man, where do I begin. The space is very nice and clean.! The service was ok for not having much interaction with the 1 person working at the time. To the food....HORRID to say the least. Hot dog might of been rolling for a couple days and was nasty, cold and discolored and the bun was stale.....toppings were fresh. Pulled pork was cold and had an unfresh taste and texture. It was also very bland. The bun was soft and fresh. Air fried taters were not good. Canton is an extremely tough market because of diversity and tons of restaurants/competition. You gotta be on top of your game or you won't survive. That being said, I wonder what the next concept will be to occupy this location. read more

This is the first one in Michigan! This place is definitely a great addition to Canton as far as food, entertainment and great service. The ambiance is great too! It is a great place for young or older adults to go too. They are going to be adding more entertainment such as Karaoke on Tuesdays and then later on a band on Thursdays. So happy to have a place like this in Canton! The beef brisket has great flavor too. They have at least 5-6 barbecue sauces to try out! They do have a kids menu even though I don't think you should bring the kids. Get a babysitter and go out without them, you deserve it! They have Axe throwing and adult Jenga to play too. Along with tons of TV's to watch your favorite sports. I will definitely be back to try the hot dogs out. The owner of this establishment is very nice and walks around really talks to each table. Only reason I didn't give a five star is because their portion sizes are small the sides are 3.95$ but were half the amount of a typical portion. The bbq chicken was delicious and the nachos were yum as well. Coke products (my fav). Order your food and sit down, no one waiting on you. Axe throwing as well. 6 sauces to choose which were all delicious by the way. Despite cost being somewhat high, portions small, I'd still return. Also the BEST chocolate chip cookies. Do not go here. First, it took 30+ minutes for some Mac and cheese. It wasn't busy- what was going on? Second, the food was so bad, zero flavour. My kid was served Mac and cheese in a small plastic water cup and their order of fries had seven fries. My brisquet bowl had four pieces of thin meat(had to check to make sure it wasn't bacon), was cold and devoid of any taste. For this horrendous experience, we were charged $22. So incredibly disappointing. May be worst restaurant I've ever eaten at in canton. read more

Sorry but this place knows nothing about hot dogs. They need to go to a proper hot dog place in Chicago and taste what a proper hot dog should be like. An all beef dog should have snap, and a fresh flavor. Their dogs are soggy and soft. Good people there and good space but the food is terrible. I don't see this business lasting. To the owners of this place, I'm sorry. I hate leaving bad reviews. Restaurant business is tough, and if you're a place for hot dogs you better have really good hot dogs...not hot dogs that taste worse than 7-11 hot dogs. read more

I'd like to think that my experience was due to the restaurant being still somewhat new. I may try again in a few months, but if the experience is no better, then that will be my last visit. On the positive side, the place has a good vibe. It's casual, fun, and the space feels nice and open. The beer wall is a cool concept, particularly if you like to try different brews, as you don't need to commit to a large serving of one type. I hear that mixed drinks will soon be added to the offerings. The seating area and restrooms were clean. Employees were friendly. Improvement opportunities: My husband ordered the mac and brisket sandwich as a combo, which includes fries and a drink. The sandwich was cold, brisket sooo dry, and I wish we had taken a pic of the fries because it's hard to believe how few there were in the little cardboard container. For the price (I think around $5ish), the quantity was the equivalent of about a Jr size fry from a fast food restaurant, and they weren't crisp - just limp. My hot dog, which included pulled pork, was also cold and the pork dry as can be. Unlike my husband, I asked for a new one, and the pork on that one was only luke warm. I just let it go at that point. The dry meat is a biggie. It's as if it is sitting in warmers without any drippings/au jus to keep it moist, and the fact that there is no moisture makes it harder to retain the heat. The food was funky - I got the chicken nachos, they came out in the skillet cold (the skillet itself wasn't hot), the waitress took them back to heat them in the microwave for me and said that the workers hadn't put the skillets in the oven to warm them. We checked out Crave while visiting family and wanted to try something a little different. The beer wall and ax throwing brought us in, but the food was the icing on the cake. My husband and I wanted to try a little bit of everything so we ordered the crave deluxe, brisket Mac and cheese, buffalo wings and the Coney dog. All were absolutely delicious but I think the Mac and cheese and crave deluxe were my favorite. The beer wall had so many options and was able to satisfy both mine and my husband's different tastes in beer. We both like to try lots of different things so being able to pour small amounts and sample such an array of beers was right up our alley. In the end, I was in the mood for something a little sweet so I tried the Brads Berry Punch and really enjoyed it. Now the ax throwing. The staff was so helpful and gave me some great tips for beating my husband. We had never attempted ax throwing before so it was a fun first experience and I will definitely be back. Make sure you wear closed toe shoes if you want to participate. I didn't think about that going in but thankfully had a pair of gym shoes in the car. They have comfortable seating just outside the ax area as well and it was nice to be able to relax and enjoy our drinks while our group took turns with the ax throwing. The beers/cocktails on tap are a fun concept. You get a card and pay by the ounce. Cashier was friendly and helpful, made suggestions when she heard it was out first time. Hot dogs were big. I am a long term resident of Canton and I have always desired an establishment that served BBQ and more than the typical hot dog! Therefore, I was delighted when CRAVE Hot Dogs & BBQ opened in a premier Canton location (Sheldon & Ford Rd). I have now been to CRAVE seven times over the past few months and each visit the parking was plentiful, the staff greeted us immediately and remained attentive, restaurant was clean and the food was delicious! And, if it couldn't get better, CRAVE has ax throwing lanes along with themed trivia and karaoke nights! Highly recommended. Kudos all around! read more

Have been looking forward to this place opening for months and we weren't disappointed. My husband, myself, and our two kids (2.5 yrs and 1yr) got there around 11:30am. The place was wonderfully clean and well setup. Though we didn't use it, the bar taps are SO cool. The food was good, the hot dogs awesome, and the cornbread was moist and out of this world. It is kind of a cool vibe. Axe throwing and lots of beer. The food is fan food it's not a place to go for dinner. Definitely not a famous Dave's type bbq. Their dogs aren't bad. They have been closed for a few weeks now. The wife and I go there occasionally while the kid is at music practice next door. Not sure why they closed. Today was my first and last time here. After waiting 30 minutes for our food to arrive we had to go up and ask where it was. I guessed they misplaced our order. After another 10 minutes we finally received it. I had the brisket Mac and cheese. It was horrible. It had no flavor and was cold. They took it back to heat up and was still like warm when I got it back. They sprinkle it with cheddar cheese but they don't melt it. It comes in a skillet but that's just for show.
