    Jerk lamb chops
    Affiron P.

The food at Crave never disappoints! It reminds me when my cousins cook on a weekend. The people are always nice and the cook puts his soul into his food. The little lady in the back reminds me of my aunties who cook. I crave those jerk lamb chops all the time and I have always enjoyed them. 10/10 recommend and I ALWAYS come back. (Even to-go it's great to reheat)

We've driven by this location many times since moving to the area a little over two years ago. To the best of our knowledge, the building was most recently Andy's Chicken and Beer and prior to that, Ted's Kickin Chicken. A few months ago we noticed the sign out front advertising Crave. We did a bit of looking online and discovered Crave Southern Palate would soon be opening. My wife began to follow them on social media and we've been anxious to try them. It's hard to believe but today they confirmed they've already been open for two months. We arrived about 3pm on Sunday afternoon. If you are familiar with this location, you know it is very simple from the exterior. We parked in the gravel parking lot and entered through the front door. Upon opening the door, we were very impressed with the interior. It is like walking into a building and not expecting the change from the outside. Our guess, since we've never been inside before is they have completely refreshed the interior. In addition to the counter seating there are also several booths and high top tables. An interesting touch at each of the counter seats is the label from what appears to be an airplane which reads "LIFE VEST UNDER YOUR SEAT" or "FASTEN SEAT BELT WHEN SEATED". We were immediately greeted by the young woman behind the counter and we took a seat. There was a menu on the table and she was quick to bring us another. She also took our drink orders. We could see they have wine and beer options but we decided on a Diet Pepsi and ice water with lemon. We had already looked over the menu before arriving today and asked our server about some of her favorite items. She told us she loves the fried pork chop, wings and burgers. We asked her about her favorite sides and she told us she loves the candied yams, collards, and mac and cheese. My wife was anxious to try the fried pork chop and chose the candied yams and salad as her sides. I chose the cheeseburger with cheese and onions only with fries. I also added a side of baked mac n cheese. After our drinks were served, our server also brought us two sweet potato cornbread muffins. Our orders arrived about 15 minutes later and looked delicious. We were a bit surprised to see the yams and mac and cheese in to-go containers with lids and the salad in a clear to-go container. Below is how we ranked the items we ordered: The Mac n Cheese - 10/10, it was flavorful and very cheesy. I considered getting an order to-go for my lunch during the week at work. The Fried Pork Chop - 10/10, first time trying and instant fan Candied Yams - 10/10, delicious Sweet Potato Cornbread Muffins - 10/10 Side Salad - 8/10, the ranch didn't taste homemade and in order to give a 10/10 we need homemade ranch dressing. Fries - 5/10, they needed more seasoning and we prefer more crunch to the exterior. Don't get me wrong, they hit the spot with a little ketchup. Cheeseburger - 7/10, overall it was a decent burger but I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked, and I would have loved bacon as an option to upgrade. I was asked what I wanted on it verses having the option choices somewhere to pick from. Chili and pimento cheese are both good Southern options but we assume they do not have them. We will absolutely come back and encourage others to check them out. We do feel the interior suggests they intend to make it more intimate and upscale, however, the food is presented in "to-go" type packaging and served with packaged plastic utensils. We hope they can determine a way to offer dine in customers with non to-go containers and real silverware instead of plastic.

This restaurant recently opened at this location, which is basically a little beyond the middle of nowhere. This spot previously housed Ted's and then Andy's - both of which flew the coop! The outside is plain and rather worn looking, painted a soft gray. The inside has been nicely upfitted - soft color, a combination of booths and high tables, as well as a half a dozen spools at the small bar area! There are 4 large screen TVs spread around the small interior. There is some outside seating, as well. The menu is rather small - wings, tenders, burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwich, a small number of dinners including wings, tenders, fried pork chop, and baked chicken, as well as 10 side dishes. They do offer some lunch specials, including a pork chop sandwich with FF. I ordered the Pork Chop dinner, with sides of Mac & cheese and collards. This was a large, very flavorful, bone-in pork chop, among the best I've tasted in a restaurant. The two sides were very nice as well, and the portions were adequate. The items here are very much on the pricey side - the 1pork chop dinner with 2 sides rang up at $20! Three Whole Wings with 2 sides comes in at $20. The Chicken Sandwich with FF costs $12, as does the Cheeseburger with FF. 3 Chicken tenders with FF costs $13. In way of comparison, Southern Spice in Bermuda Run offers 2 nicely sized bone-in chops with 2 sides that are plentiful for $9.75! Omega House also has the same plate with at least the size of Southern Spice for $9.70. Ambiance - 3.5 Food - 4.5 Service - 4.5 Value - 2

Mac and cheese, baked beans salmon bites

Nice restaurant very small, menu isn't vast one page to be exact. I ordered a special which was salmon bites, I got two sides, mac and cheese was very delicious, cheesy and flavorful. Baked beans very good as well taste a hint of brown sugar. The homie got baked chicken it's what I should have ordered, the collard greens were seasoned well, and the yams taste like dessert. The salmon bites in my opinion were to salty. If I'm in the area I will definitely try it again.

So we went to try Crave out. It's about a 22 minute drive from where we live. We got there, and were greeted once we walked in. It's a small yet cozy spot. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. The ambiance is nice, music playing while eating your food. So together, my husband and I ordered chicken wings, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, rice and gravy, and sweet potato yams. The food was piping hot when we received it. The wings were good & hot, I only felt like they needed to be seasoned a little more. The greens were good. I didn't try his rice with gravy, so can't speak on that item. The yams were good, not overly sweet. Now that Mac, in my opinion it needed some work. It had a good flavor, but it lacking the cheesiness, it was dry. I also ordered a sweet tea and that was good to my liking. Overall, I'd give this place another try, but would just order something else instead of the macaroni.

My hamburger steak and the biscuits were very good this time even though my broccoli side was lacking, Dad enjoyed his pancakes and particularly his fried eggs as well. Going with 4 stars but only because the visit deserves more than 3 stars for some of the food, again really want to go with 3.5 stars if I could. The Deets: When visiting the folks for the Father's Day weekend, Dad said he wanted to head by Cracker Barrel and get some pancakes for a late brunch so we stopped the nearest one over in Clemmons. It's been years since I visited this location, and honestly, really nothing much has changed from what I remember. It is the same basic formula with the country store area as you enter and then you go to the host desk to the side for the dining area. Luckily since we were stopping by a bit later even for a lunch, the crowd had left for the most part and we were seated promptly. Again, everything in the seating area is the same and could really use some TLC (lots of dust on the ceiling fans, more than a rustic type of appearance that could use a refresh, etc.) Our server was very nice in letting us having a few extra minutes to take in both the breakfast and lunch/dinner menus so we could decided what we wanted to go with today. Dad stuck with his pancakes, adding fried eggs and sausage. Mom got the Old Timers Breakfast menu selection, and I decided on the hamburger steak with two sides of steak fries/steamed broccoli. I enjoyed my coffee as we waited for our meals. Once they arrived, Dad really enjoyed his pancakes and particularly complimented the fried eggs. Mom was OK with her breakfast, nothing extraordinary or bad noted from her. My hamburger steak was really good, not dried out and plenty of flavor, I enjoyed it. My mother and I really liked the biscuits, baked just right. Steak fries were OK, but there were a good number of them extra greasy though. My steamed broccoli was cooked just a bit too long, not very much crunch left to it and pretty bland (Mom tasted and agreed with the latter). I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars for this visit, I really wish I could give 3.5 stars here. In looking at everything, I really think in the long run they deserve more than 3 stars with the good hamburger steak and biscuits as well as Dad really enjoying his pancakes/fried eggs so I will go with 4 stars, just knowing I feel like 3.5 stars honestly.
