Had the large regular poutine & the lobster fries. It was decent. We arrived too late to get the grilled items.

Match Eatery & Public House - Chatham - Located inside the Cascades casino, this is definitely a place to go.

The inside of the place looks very clean and modern, actually looks like one of the high scale gastropubs back in the States. The bartenders were very friendly and talkative, and I loved the fact that that they were willing to chat me up a little bit. Ordered a vodka cranberry and it was very tasty. Side note, in Canada they only do 1 oz pours instead of the standard 1.4 ounce pours. Regardless, the drinks was very tasty and hit the spot. I ordered the tacos and tots. The waitress suggested the al pastor tacos so I went with those. They were small, but they were very tasty and came with a very nice hot sauce. Overall it was a pretty good meal, I'll be it. You definitely pay casino prices.. Bottom line? I would absolutely come back here again and try some of the other stuff on the menu as it all looked very good. If you're ever in the Chatham area you definitely need to check this place out.

Sis had the Fish tacos and I had the Asian chicken salad. Both were very good but do save room for dessert - the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was excellent. The only thing I was not thrilled about was the temperature of the tea. Was only luke warm and even when I asked for more water - same thing again. So don't count on a good hot cup of tea! Parking is onsite at no extra cost. Note - if you have a coupon, make sure you go to customer service first or ask your server. Seemed like a convoluted process as you must declare it before you order.

Match Eatery & Public House - Chatham - Plenty of fire space with very good drinks. Even though they're only 1 oz pours, the drinks are still very tasty.

Decent burger, basic poutine, good hot dog…read more There's something to be said about a yankee heading to a retro Americana diner. But I was hungry, and lots of places were closed on a Sunday. So I came here to try their grub. First off, it's very much what I think everyone thinks a quintessential diner is. Multi-colored swooshes patterns on the countertop, tons of pop culture icons plastered against the walls, American country music playing on the speakers. If there was ever a tourist trap then this is it. The server was very nice and accommodating. Explained the menu and answered questions quickly. We got a poutine, a burger and hot dog, and some onion rings to round everything out. Food came out relatively quick. Pacing was good, got the poutine out first to munch on before getting the rest. The quality is very much a basic greasy spoon diner back in the states. Lots of stuff fresh out the freezer, prepared like a beach stand with stuff quick fried and sent out. There was some care shown, the burger was lightly seasoned and not overcooked. Bun was fresh and the hot dog had a good char to it. Besides that, it was underwhelming overall. That being said, it wasn't bad. Yeah, it was generic but you don't go to a place like this for solid eats. You come here for that little reminder of home or to explore from the comfort of home. In those cases, this place works. Given that it was literally next door to a Texas bbq place, they very much knew what clientele they were aiming for. If you're curious to try some of the most basic food that the US has to offer, then this place will allow one to experience that without having to drive there. It's better than a fast food chain, but there's a LOT more to explore if you ever get the chance to visit.

the food is very good, the service and servers are great people, and the soup is second to noneread more

Frenchy's sits in a shopping center anchored by a Shoppers Drug Mart and a "Gaming Center" (aka casino). Walking up to the counter, I immediately noticed the lineup of meat choices and toppings. It's the kind of menu that makes you pause for a second, not because it's complicated, but because everything looks like a good idea. All sorts of protein options from Chicken to "Montreal Smoked Meat". I got the Gyro. Ordering was quick, and the food came out fast and fresh. The gravy was the standout. This wasn't that fast‑food slop. It was beefy, rich, the kind of gravy that actually tastes like something. Combined with the cheese curds and toppings, it made for a proper Canadian comfort‑food moment. And the portions? Massive. The kind of serving that makes you wonder if you accidentally ordered for two. Frenchy's is definitely playing in the "feed the masses" category, and they're doing it well. I took half my order back across the border for later. Bottom line: If you find yourself wandering into Windsor, intentionally or not, Frenchy's is a worthy stop for that authentic Pountne cuisine.
