We were picking up some supplies from TSC and it was just hitting lunch time - perfect to try out Mr Shawarma and BBQ, especially since we aren't in Trenton very often. We were greeted warmly when we walked in and placed our order at the counter. This place seems to be mainly do take-out orders - we saw a number of parties pick up food, but we were the only ones to sit down to eat. Oh well, more room for us! Poutine, Small ($9.99) - This is a gigantic plate of poutine - although I think they accidentally gave us a large instead of the small. There's plenty of hot gravy served on top of cheese curds and fries. The fries are commercial and fried to a crisp, but the parts that touch the gravy immediately turn limp. The curds are definitely not fresh ones - they are quite soft with no bounce or chew. As you eat, the cheese melts into the gravy, causing a good amount of cheese pull the every time you lift your fork up. The gravy is pretty flavorful and has good consistency. Best of all, it's not overly salty, so it's very easy to eat this dish. While it's not the best poutine you can find, it's better than a lot of other places this side of the river. (4/5) Chicken Shawarma Plate ($19.99) - I was wondering why this was so expensive and then I saw the plate come out - it's huge platter of meat, rice and sides. More than enough to feed two comfortably. The chicken shawarma, made mainly of chicken thighs, is moist and flavorful, a result of slowly cooking on a rotating spit. This also allows fantastic crisped up bits to develop on the exterior skin. On the spit, you can actually see pieces of chicken fat right at the top, which allows the juices to run down the chicken as it spins. The meat is spiced well but the natural chicken flavor still comes through. Tahini is drizzled on top, which adds a nuttiness that complements the spices and chicken flavor. (5/5) The shawarma is served on a bed of yellow rice. It's fluffy, salted quite a bit, probably cooked in chicken broth. It has a bit more moisture and is softer than the typical Lebanese rice, but is serviceable for the dish. Unlike a lot of other places, there's no slivered almonds or vermicelli to add variety. (4/5) On the side is a pile of batata harra (spicy potatoes). In this case, not spicy at all, but with a fragrant herbal blend fried on the exterior. The potato pieces are quite large here - it seems like medium sized potatoes that are cut into eighths. The exterior has a skin developed from being pan fried in oil, but it doesn't crisp up all that much. The inside is nice and fluffy, and encourages you to dip it in the hummus or toum. (4/5) The potatoes are served on (and topped by) house made toum (garlic). The toum here is fluffy and a bit lemony, but not overpowering. The taste of the garlic is a bit muted like it's been diluted by egg whites or potato. I prefer a thicker and more paste-like toum, but for a fluffy toum, this one isn't bad. (4/5) On another quadrant of the plate lies a couple of spoonfuls of hummus. This is the one item on the plate that I didn't enjoy at all. They are very heavy with the tahini, making the hummus very nutty but also adding a dose of bitter flavor. The hummus is very soft and smooth with no coarse bits of chickpea at all. I didn't like the flavor profile of this hummus. (2/5) Finally, there's a salad served on the side, with radish, red cabbage, lettuce, cucumber, and tomato. The sumac based dressing here seems to be made in house, resulting in one that feels a bit more acidic than others I've had. The salad is pretty heavily dressed, resulting in quite a bit of extra liquid on the bottom of the plate that leaks and mixes with the hummus and garlic potatoes. Still the veggies are crisp and other than that small mishap, the salad is refreshing. (4/5) As we were enjoying our food, I overheard a couple ordering spicy toum for their shawarma sandwiches. I asked about it and got a sample as we got up and left. Can't wait to try it, given how good the spicy toum is at other places! One thing I found strange is that none of the food is served with pita. It's noticeably missing. I'm lucky to live around so much great Middle Eastern food in Dearborn. Mr Shawarma and BBQ isn't a spot I'd go back to again, simply because of how far of a drive it is and the other options that are much closer to me. If you're in Trenton or nearby, however, Mr. Shawarma is an easy recommend. Note: They charge a 3% credit card fee. Chicken Shawarma Plate with Hummus, Baba Ghanouj, and Garlic Potatoes

I'm a truck driver and was delivering at the Tractor Supply in the shopping center. I walked over on the recommendation of the center owner and I am so happy I did. Aside from the fact that the food was outstanding- the owner and his family made the stop 100% worth it. They took the time to tell me exactly how they prepare and cook their food. I never write reviews but this place 100% deserved it. They were so so good to me. Shout out to the owner for the way he took care of me. I'm going to request this stop as much as possible just so I can go back here. It's rare that your food looks exactly how it does in the advertisements but I mean look at this plate!

Drove by this places for years and never tried it. The meat plate is more than youd pay for take out, but it's worth it. I've went back more than once for that alone. The meat is cooked *perfectly*, The chicken is good but the meat is my favorite. Generous portions of garlic as well. The salad had huge chunks of tomato, and the dressing on the side. Potatoes were crispy. I get so much food that the next day I'm excited for my leftovers. It also tasted just as good reheated. I would give it a five star aside from the fact that I've only tried the one thing multiple times. Service was good.

Wow.....and yum ! I love Lebanese food so I'm extremely picky. Cute clean interior. Good for lunch or casual dinner. Hubby and I stopped in for lunch and got a mixed shawarma and a Kafka wraps. The food was fresh and the flavor and quality you could tell from the first bite was high quality. And wait to come again and try their dinners and their poutine !!!!

Gwen said she would try and she and the kitchen came through!! Gwen also said if we needed more do not be afraid to ask. We were satiated with those 6 or 7 wings. Unfortunately we only bought my wife a soft drink and our bill was $117 and the raffle tickets are every $40 spent so we only received two of them for three of us. Nyla was great as I could not find pepper on the sauce bar to season our hangar steaks. Nyla went into the kitchen and grabbed some for me, as well as adding an equal amount of salt to the sauce bowl as I wanted both for seasoning the meat. Lina, at the front desk, helped out with questions about the raffle tickets, the snow crab legs free special on April 15 their one year anniversary of the Taylor location being open. Gwen was great and kept us in clean grills, brought extra butter for our hangar steaks as requested, and kept our pitcher of water filled. She had two mishaps right beside our table. First she accidentally spilled a cup of ice for us ( her tray had a LOT on it ). Later replacing it she dropped a second cup of ice water next to me as well. Gwen said she bragged to a coworker she had not dropped anything for a long time after the first mishap recently. I regaled her about when I bragged I never spilled my giant 64 ounce Speedway cup wedged between my front seats to a coworker. That day and the following two days it spilled three times. I told her it was GOD's humor to our pridefulness. So when she spilled the second cup, I managed to refrain from saying she was due one more spill. I hope she does not have a third spill today nor soon. Anyway, the food is top notch as always! This is our home KPOT! Anqi is great as always too.

I came with my nephew and sister and we were all surprised at the prices vs the portion sizes! Being from Atlanta I was expecting smaller portions but they go big here! I got the Fat Daddy Sandwich and was so excited to eat it and almost burnt my tongue. The chicken was freshly fried and dressed to order. I dug into the delicious cheese fries while I waited for my sandwich to cool. Pairing it all with the fried pickles just competed the whole meal. Small area to dine in, mainly waiting space, but it was a slow evening and we decided to hang out. If im in the area i would definitely visit again.

I used to visit Fat Daddy's all the time, but as I moved a bit further away, my visits have…read moredecreased in frequency. Still, it's always a pleasant treat to drop by and have some hot chicken once in a while. On my most recent visit, I got a couple of items: Chicken Cheese Fries, Mild ($13.70) - The fries are kind of chewy and not crisp but that could be because of the 15 min drive home before digging in. Fresh green onion and fried chicken tenders are dropped on top with the meat being not dry but not especially moist. In terms of spice level, we went with mild, which in this case is basically not spicy at all, giving just a very slight tingle on the tongue. Tangy, almost vinegary comeback sauce and a cheese sauce are drizzled on top of everything. Overall the seasoning level is good. I mean, it's fries with stuff on top; hard to mess that up. I just don't think I would get this again because the sandwiches are way better and this is just average. (3/5) Hush Puppies ($4.60) - One order comes with six pieces. These hush puppies have a nice crisp exterior skin with a tender and fluffy corn meal interior, seasoned perfectly. They come with the comeback sauce on the side, but I don't think they actually need the sauce as they are perfectly delicious by themselves. (4/5) The Fat Daddy, Hot, Pickles ($13.70) - Woah, this thing is hefty. I'd almost forgotten how big the sandwiches are. This single sandwich probably weighs equal to everything else we got. They give you a giant chicken thigh with a super moist interior and a crisp exterior. The chicken has a bit of heat at hot but is not overwhelming. Either my heat tolerance has gotten better or they've toned the heat down - I remember always getting the hot and having trouble with it in the past! They add a bit of slaw to add additional crunch. You can choose between pickles and peppers - I went with pickles to amp up the vinegar tangy notes. Everything is on a fluffy buttery bun. The sandwich comes with seasoned fries that are seasoned well and not overly salty. The texture feels a little chewy rather than being crisp and they look kind of pale, like they are under fried. A bit disappointing to be honest. (4/5) Since I first visited Fat Daddy's, they've expanded to a couple more locations around the Metro. I'm happy to see them getting their food out to a wider audience. I definitely recommend them, especially for their hot chicken sandwiches. Now if only they brought the hot bone-in chicken back - it's on the menu, but they don't actually carry it anymore. Overall rating of the food this visit: 3.67/5

Wait time for the food is about 20 minutes, which I think is reasonable. I've tried a ton of wings spots over time, so I'm pretty critical when it comes to ranking them. These were good, but not extraordinary. They were cooked well. The skin was crispy without drying out the meat inside. I enjoyed all of the sauces. I was definitely skeptical of the Berry BBQ; I'm glad I tried it but probably wouldn't reorder. Overall, this spot is good.
