We were picking up some supplies from TSC and it was just hitting lunch time - perfect to try out Mr Shawarma and BBQ, especially since we aren't in Trenton very often. We were greeted warmly when we walked in and placed our order at the counter. This place seems to be mainly do take-out orders - we saw a number of parties pick up food, but we were the only ones to sit down to eat. Oh well, more room for us! Poutine, Small ($9.99) - This is a gigantic plate of poutine - although I think they accidentally gave us a large instead of the small. There's plenty of hot gravy served on top of cheese curds and fries. The fries are commercial and fried to a crisp, but the parts that touch the gravy immediately turn limp. The curds are definitely not fresh ones - they are quite soft with no bounce or chew. As you eat, the cheese melts into the gravy, causing a good amount of cheese pull the every time you lift your fork up. The gravy is pretty flavorful and has good consistency. Best of all, it's not overly salty, so it's very easy to eat this dish. While it's not the best poutine you can find, it's better than a lot of other places this side of the river. (4/5) Chicken Shawarma Plate ($19.99) - I was wondering why this was so expensive and then I saw the plate come out - it's huge platter of meat, rice and sides. More than enough to feed two comfortably. The chicken shawarma, made mainly of chicken thighs, is moist and flavorful, a result of slowly cooking on a rotating spit. This also allows fantastic crisped up bits to develop on the exterior skin. On the spit, you can actually see pieces of chicken fat right at the top, which allows the juices to run down the chicken as it spins. The meat is spiced well but the natural chicken flavor still comes through. Tahini is drizzled on top, which adds a nuttiness that complements the spices and chicken flavor. (5/5) The shawarma is served on a bed of yellow rice. It's fluffy, salted quite a bit, probably cooked in chicken broth. It has a bit more moisture and is softer than the typical Lebanese rice, but is serviceable for the dish. Unlike a lot of other places, there's no slivered almonds or vermicelli to add variety. (4/5) On the side is a pile of batata harra (spicy potatoes). In this case, not spicy at all, but with a fragrant herbal blend fried on the exterior. The potato pieces are quite large here - it seems like medium sized potatoes that are cut into eighths. The exterior has a skin developed from being pan fried in oil, but it doesn't crisp up all that much. The inside is nice and fluffy, and encourages you to dip it in the hummus or toum. (4/5) The potatoes are served on (and topped by) house made toum (garlic). The toum here is fluffy and a bit lemony, but not overpowering. The taste of the garlic is a bit muted like it's been diluted by egg whites or potato. I prefer a thicker and more paste-like toum, but for a fluffy toum, this one isn't bad. (4/5) On another quadrant of the plate lies a couple of spoonfuls of hummus. This is the one item on the plate that I didn't enjoy at all. They are very heavy with the tahini, making the hummus very nutty but also adding a dose of bitter flavor. The hummus is very soft and smooth with no coarse bits of chickpea at all. I didn't like the flavor profile of this hummus. (2/5) Finally, there's a salad served on the side, with radish, red cabbage, lettuce, cucumber, and tomato. The sumac based dressing here seems to be made in house, resulting in one that feels a bit more acidic than others I've had. The salad is pretty heavily dressed, resulting in quite a bit of extra liquid on the bottom of the plate that leaks and mixes with the hummus and garlic potatoes. Still the veggies are crisp and other than that small mishap, the salad is refreshing. (4/5) As we were enjoying our food, I overheard a couple ordering spicy toum for their shawarma sandwiches. I asked about it and got a sample as we got up and left. Can't wait to try it, given how good the spicy toum is at other places! One thing I found strange is that none of the food is served with pita. It's noticeably missing. I'm lucky to live around so much great Middle Eastern food in Dearborn. Mr Shawarma and BBQ isn't a spot I'd go back to again, simply because of how far of a drive it is and the other options that are much closer to me. If you're in Trenton or nearby, however, Mr. Shawarma is an easy recommend. Note: They charge a 3% credit card fee. Chicken Shawarma Plate with Hummus, Baba Ghanouj, and Garlic Potatoes

I'm a truck driver and was delivering at the Tractor Supply in the shopping center. I walked over on the recommendation of the center owner and I am so happy I did. Aside from the fact that the food was outstanding- the owner and his family made the stop 100% worth it. They took the time to tell me exactly how they prepare and cook their food. I never write reviews but this place 100% deserved it. They were so so good to me. Shout out to the owner for the way he took care of me. I'm going to request this stop as much as possible just so I can go back here. It's rare that your food looks exactly how it does in the advertisements but I mean look at this plate!

Drove by this places for years and never tried it. The meat plate is more than youd pay for take out, but it's worth it. I've went back more than once for that alone. The meat is cooked *perfectly*, The chicken is good but the meat is my favorite. Generous portions of garlic as well. The salad had huge chunks of tomato, and the dressing on the side. Potatoes were crispy. I get so much food that the next day I'm excited for my leftovers. It also tasted just as good reheated. I would give it a five star aside from the fact that I've only tried the one thing multiple times. Service was good.

My favorite Mediterranean food in the area hands down! Awesome food, awesome service! Best garlic…read moresauce. Plus spicy garlic sauce?!?! Debate, Best lambs chops that rival if not better than auburn cafe. Debone chicken is epic. The best grape leaves I've ever had. The only complaint was the Mediterranean wings, not great kind of a ketchupy sauce but we used the fries that come with them to dip in the garlic sauce which was delicious. The wings were cooked perfectly. All in all the owners are very kind and welcoming people. You can tell they are very proud of the food they serve.

Disrespectful and Unsafe Experience During Business Pickup I had a deeply unprofessional experience…read morewhile picking up a large $500 DoorDash order that I placed at this business. Upon arrival, the owner insisted on taking my photo without my consent, claiming it was required for DoorDash identification. I clearly refused, but he attempted to proceed anyway. No consent was given at any point for photography. The situation escalated further when I was physically touched after I explicitly asked not to be touched. This crossed a clear personal boundary and made the interaction feel unsafe and unacceptable. This type of behavior toward a service provider is not appropriate under any circumstances. It is disheartening to see an establishment take a customer's money but treat them with total disrespect. I am sharing this so other diners are aware of how this business treats its customers --whether pickup or dine-in--are aware and so that personal boundaries and consent are taken seriously in the future.

I'm surprised to see this place where it is. Will an Arabic restaurant work downriver? I hope so…read more First, the Malek's Kafta appetizer $14.83: It is meatballs sautéed with mushroom, onions and fresh tomato. This was the star of the show for me. It was absolutely delicious. The sauté with tomato, onion and mushroom is the same you'd get with lamb tongues (a personal favorite...if you know, you know) or other sauté type dishes at Lebanese style Arabic restaurants. It really pops flavor-wise with a nice balance of savory herbs and a bite of acidic zest from lemon juice. This is what I will come back for. The fattoush was also delicious. I really liked the light dressing. There was no fried bread in it, just some dry bits and not much of it. I really thought it was more like a standard Lebanese style salad. Fortunately, I loved it. I like salad a lot. The lamb shish kabob was tenderized! Finally, someone understands this critical detail! They were well sized, perfectly cooked medium and the flavor was nice. I'm giving them a perfect score because I really enjoyed everything I ordered and I think they're succeeding at what they intend to be. I like the dining room; it is clean, modern and casual. The service was great and friendly. Yes, I am coming back.

The restaurant itself is very simple looking inside, but clean and spacious enough. The menu offers either sandwiches or bowls and a large variety of condiments to customize your order. The amount of variety is overwhelming at first, but I find keeping it simple is the best way to go. I ended up getting the chicken cream chop with bulgur wheat as my base (trying to keep it healthy) and added some basic vegetables with pickles. I had it drizzled with Princess sauce which was really good even if I can't describe what it tasted like at this moment. While I was dining the owner asked me how I was enjoying my meal and he offered me a small sample of the beef shawarma at no additional cost. I'm not kidding when I say that this is the best beef shawarma meat I've had in Michigan. The beef was so crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and had a nice mix of lean meat laced with fat. He even let me get a free cup of tzatziki sauce to dip it in, which was generous on his part. I almost forgot to mention that the fried chicken here is exceptional and cooked fresh to order in my case. Seeing how passionate the owner is, it makes sense why the food is as good as it is and why they are highly regarded. Wish they were closer to me.

I got the chicken kebab entree with rice, lentil soup and a small tabouli. The rice was good, the chicken was a way over charred. Literal crunchy black layer. There was not a good amount of vegetables. The tabouli was VERY TASTY, I loved that. And the Lentil soup was very runny almost like chicken noodle soup. But the lentils was very aroma and still tasted very yummy, just not as filling as a thicker lentil. I was given like 4 pita breads and a garlic also with the meal. The restaurant looked clean inside. I won't be back to this restaurant only because I've had way better for around the same price or less, but if this was my first time trying Mediterranean food I may be back only because in that case I wouldn't be knowledgeable enough about what flavors to look for in these dishes. Thank you for the meal though! I will be eating it all. PS. Walking to the door of the restaurant is a giant lip in the sidewalk and my partners toe was injured because it stubbed.

The gentleman who was working that day was extremely patient with my husband sitting there so long waiting for me, and was very polite to me when I was seated. I ordered my husband the Shish Tawook dinner with rice and Salad. I ordered a bowl of Chicken lemon Rice soup. His chicken piece's were huge, delicious and well seasoned. The rice, also well seasoned, light and fluffy. The salad itself was plentiful, and was not overdressed. the lettuce was very fresh, and there were also plenty of cucumbers and tomato's. the bread was hot, fluffy and excellent with the garlic! When my husband asked for the bill, I told him to add a quart of the chicken lemon rice to go. He gave me the soup and said thats for you, no charge. He also gave us 2 rice puddings. not sure if that came with his meal or not but it was delicious and appreciated. I definitely made sure to leave a nice tip, which he was getting with or without the free soup. Seating is plentiful, once ordered food came fast with every single item tasting fresh, well seasoned and delicious. There is a cooler with drinks so if you order to go you can grab a drink.
