We walked over to this place, we were picking up the Broadway Show "Clue" from the Carson Theater (Trucker) and we decided we wanted Ice Cream, so of course I took to Yelp The place is clean, staff was excellent and gave us the run down on our options, everything they make is FRESH ingredients and they literally make the ice cream in front of you on these cold plates, then they roll them up and put it in a cup (or cone) the Ice Cream is really good, I had Birthday Cake and my hubby had Mint Chocolate Chip. Rolled ice cream is a weird flex for this town, but the shop is quite pleasant, with a brick-walled space and an owner somewhat amusingly trying to keep the kids working here on track. The general way rolled ice cream works is that you start with one basic cream and it gets combined with things on a cold plate before being made into rolls. This place has a wide flavor selection with some seasonal specials. You can also get a waffle cone, an ice cream shake, and one or two other variations. In addition to whatever is in the initial preparation, a free toppings bar awaits at the end, so load up on fruits and nuts. They do have a vegan coconut cream option. The mint chip I ordered looked pretty cool, but it was not so much mint with a little bit of chocolate flavor as chocolate with a little bit of mint flavor. Despite the green color, it wasn't as minty as I had hoped. It certainly was good, and I probably should have gotten even more fruit than I did. After we ordered and paid, they said it would be at least a 40 minute wait for our ice cream. It would have been really nice to know that before we paid. We didn't have close to an hour to wait and they would not refund the money. We just left and they kept the money. We even tipped and ended up with nothing. Very disappointing. read more

Wowowow am I happy to have stumbled across this place! I'm not a huge fan of rolled ice cream (think it's more for show vs. quality of ice cream) but I suppose it's the same and this place was delicious! I especially appreciated the add on 3 toppings post choosing your ice cream and mix ins. It was a HUGE serving too (though also pricy so shakes out about right - I think I paid $10 all said and done). I did 'splurge' and get the bubble waffle/waffle cone thingy which I'm so happy I did! I've had bubble waffle ice cream, obvi waffle cone with my ice cream, but never a combo of the two and I LOVED IT. Definitely my favorite part just because I've never run into this before. This was probably the highlight of our trip to downtown Paducah. We just happened to be walking by in the late afternoon and skipped lunch--we thought, 'what the heck?" I'd never had rolled ice cream until our visit to Craving the Curls. We LOVED the sweet treats. There were two ladies working and they were super friendly. We had a couple of questions about things, so they happily explained them to us and gave us recommendations when my husband couldn't decide what he wanted. Everything they offer is delicious. I ordered the Peachy Keen (an easy choice for me) and he ordered the special of the month--peanut butter x 3. I can't remember the exact name of the flavor, or everything that was in it, but it started with a Reese's peanut butter cup in the middle. **update** flavor was called I Peanut Butter. Watch them make your order--that's part of the experience. We spent around $15 on the ice cream and I left a small tip in the tip jar. We were the only customers during the 30 minutes or so we were there. We also ate inside as the tables were spread far apart and the place was empty. Cute interior and decor on the inside. Yum. I love a good rolled over cream and knew we had to come here after dinner. We decided to split a cup and it was the perfect amount for us both. We got the flavor of the week/day and got the lemon blueberry. Three toppings are included in the price and we couldn't decide. We got blueberries, cheesecake, and whipped cream. I had out of town family visiting this weekend and we decided to explore some of the tourist stops downtown. This was our final stop. Two of our curls cups were made PERFECT but one of my family members did not have the same luck. Our friends had been talking about one of those ice cream shops that prepares ice cream to order, spreads it out in thin sheet, and then curls it up with a spatula. I've heard of it, but never been to one...until this week. The business is family owned and run and the family is so sweet and personable. They close for the winter to spend the cold months in Mexico, so don't count on getting a bowl until at least March 6, 2020. I love the exposed brick and the charm that the shop has to offer. Everything was very clean (i.e. floors, tables, etc.) My favorite part was that you can watch them make your rolls through the glass window, kinda like fudge makers have so you can watch the process. I didn't snap a picture of the menu, but they have lots of options and they're all customizable. A few examples are: s'mores (they even toast the marshmallows with a torch!), strawberry dream, peanut butter brownie, birthday cake, cookie monster, coffee/espresso (I can't remember the name), and more! Their flavor of the week this week was chocolate covered cherry and the week before was peppermint hot chocolate. When you order, you can choose among vanilla, chocolate, or coconut milk as your base. Not only are their toppings/flavors in the menu items above, but you can also add 3 additional toppings at the end. You can choose to have your curls in a waffle cone, bowl, or a puffle. Ever heard of that? I hadn't. It's made in an iron that makes a waffle cone on one side and puffs on the other side, so it's a little soft and less crunch than the waffle side. The puffles are made to order, too! I loved everything about this little place, right down to the spoons (that felt like they were made of compostable plastic). PRO TIP: My 8 year old son rarely finishes a small ice cream, so the fact that the menu only mentioned one size had me worried. We found out that they do a kids' size, even though it isn't listed on the menu. The one thing that I would warn you about, is, there are no public restrooms, so make sure you take care of that before heading there. Also, they sell bottled water if you're one who likes to drink water with your ice cream. I didn't see that they were offering tap water in cups to anyone. Lucky for me, I had my own water with me because it rarely leaves my side. LOL! Go and check them out. You can thank me later. read more

There was a hair in the ice cream, and the tables were all filthy. It was 2pm and there was no one else there. That's not acceptable.

We always love coming to craving the curls. Their ice cream is always delicious and of course it's fun to watch them roll ice cream.

We stopped by to get ice cream after walking around the area. It was pretty busy but it didn't take long to get our order in. The person taking our order was really nice. I got plain ice cream with several toppings but I wish I would have got them mixed instead. The ice cream itself is delicious and they have several options for toppings! I was happy with the amount of ice cream we received and felt it was reasonably priced. Next time we are in the area I will go back and try something a little more adventurous. This place is awesome. And the staff are amazing. Especially Renee the owner. My daughters boyfriend really wanted to try it, but is allergic to peanuts or anything that is closely related. Renee's place was packed with every station running at full. In Order to allow my daughters boyfriend to eat one, she took one whole curling table out of the line and cleaned it completely.
