Came in with a large group and 4 kiddos. The fenced in area outside was great for letting our kids run around a bit while still being contained. My etouffee was very flavorful. I got the chicken and sausage one. It was a little spicy but that's to be expected. I was a little disappointed that almost all the appetizers were deep fried. I really feel they should add more variety to that menu. Especially considering Cajun and creole dishes are usually grilled or blackened not fried. I'd come back for the Etouffee. read more

Walked around town and was very happy to stumble into this place. Service was outstanding, owner came out and talked with us. She asked if we ordered cornbread and we hadn't so she personally brought us a slice straight out of the oven. We ordered several things so we could try them. Shrimp étouffée was outstanding. Gumbo was outstanding, jambalaya was good but a tad sweet for my taste. Red beans and rice with some hot sauce . The owner told us to top the cornbread with some of the gumbo, she was so right. Broussards is a big, friendly place with a broad menu full of tempting dishes. We loved the relaxed pace and the food. The Caesar salad was well dressed with fresh shaved cheese and spicy croutons. The first award goes to Pierce who was my bartender, on an especially bad day for me (mother's passing) who was very attentive and sympathetic. Pierce is a very personable guy, shared condolences alongside my cocktail choices. I had requests that weren't necessarily menu choices but the kitchen served them right up! Steamed shrimp and Andoullie' sausage both with creole spices on them as an appetizer while I serviced my Sam Adams Boston Lager with a Knob Creek 9 year Ky bourbon sidecar. Mmmmm.... Pierce asked about my flavors and favs then suggested the shrimp jambalaya and sweet cornbread. After the appetizer, he had my creole senses peaked! He said it was his favorite and it's good. There's two of these "jawns" one here and the other in Cape Girardeau, Mo. I understand the one in Cape is even busier. So go visit these nice establishments and get your Cajun on. Ate here for the first time. Our family ordered 3 meals. The Cajun pasta with chicken and sausage was good. The jambalaya dinner with sausage, chicken, and shrimp was good but lacking in meat. The last one was the red beans and rice that was supposed to come with andouille sausage. On the entire plate, there was ONE little piece of sausage. ONE. So I questioned the server who said that this was correct and that it was supposed to have only the "essence" of sausage and that most people don't get any at all. He said they could have them cook me up some, but I decided against it because I'd probably be charged for it, and besides, it should have come on the plate to begin with. I did look back at the menu and it said "...essence of sausage in every bite," which is misleading. And it didn't look like the picture of red beans beans and rice that the restaurant posted online....or any picture of red beans and rice..ever. We made a random choice on where to eat for our last meal in Kentucky before we headed back home to Kentucky. After a quick look on places around the historic district of Paducah we chose Broussard's and I'm glad we did. We stopped in at the most random time of about 2:50 pm so we weren't expecting much as both my boyfriend and I are in the service industry and know how those in between times can be food and service wise. Pierce greeted us right away and got us seated. He let us know about the lunch menu ending soon and recommended if we wanted something off that menu to go ahead and decide. We chose to order off the main (or dinner(?)) so it wasn't a problem at all but I'm glad he told us. My son got the kid's cheeseburger and he said it was "the best burger he's ever had" which is high praise from a picky six year old. My boyfriend chose classic Chicken tenders, fries, and rice&beans. He also said that they were some of the best chicken fingers he's ever had and, again, that's some high praise from him. (At one point, he bit into it and I saw the juice spray out a little bit so you KNOW that chicken wasn't dry in the slightest). I went with the Crawfish Etouffe Cajun Pasta and good god it was insanely delicious. The only critique I have on it was a wish the pasta was slightly more al dente but that's a personal preference of mine and I don't hold that against them in the slightest. I was surprised when Pierce told me it came with a side so I chose the veggie plate (green beans, broccoli, carrots, peppers) and was shocked when it came out. It was literally the size of my entree and covered in butter and what I assume was blackening seasoning. So freaking good. We ended up getting the beignets to go, I have yet to try them but Pierce vouched for them and said his boss hand makes them so I cannot wait to dive in. We also got some drinks. I chose the Croc Cooler (rum based) and was glad I did. Good poor and yummy taste. My boyfriend went with two tanqueray and tonics and well, if you mess those up then we've got an issue lol. All was good. The kicker? Our bill wasn't even $80 after four entrees (my son ordered a second burger), three drinks, and a dessert. That's insane and almost unheard of where we are from. I am BEYOND glad we chose to stop in here, from Peirce to the food, everything was great and the best place we have eaten at on our Kentucky Lake vacation. Met up with my husband's family for lunch while we were in town. I love the old building it was in! We had great service and very good food. I ordered way more than I could eat. I got the 3 item platter with jambalaya, gumbo, and etouffe (not sure how to spell it). It came with cornbread and red beans and rice. Everything was really good. I don't k ow that I could pick out a favorite. But I will warn you that it is way too much food for one person! We also got dessert but I didn't get a picture. Came from Minnesota. The Frog Legs on this menu caught my eye so I had to try them. Taste like chicken. The breading fell right off them. They gave 2 pair of nice sized legs. Nothing special honestly. We started with their Bourbon Lemonade and boy was that good!! I also did a combo of Red Beans & Rice and Shrimp Etouffee. Each were very good. I was given a lot of rice. I enjoyed both. The red beans and rice had a lil spice to it. The Etouffee was creamy goodness. It took a long time to get the food and the place was empty. A delightful surprise on my trip through Kentucky! Broussard's was delicious and the vibes were great! We stopped in on a Saturday in November and they had live music on the patio with heaters! It was so lovely! The food was amazing. We ordered the ettouffee with shrimp and the jambalaya along with some drink specials! Everything were amazing! There was so much protein in both dishes and they were seasoned to perfection! The portions were huge and I wish I could've taken the leftovers home but I had a full day of travel. Tried this place because I was craving comfort food.... Whoa! 100/10! The crawfish étouffée with fried shrimp was seasoned to perfection and hearty. The bartender recommended the bread pudding for dessert and it hit it out of the park as well. Not a bad place at all. It made me miss New Orleans. It reminded me of being in NOLA. We aren't from the area, but stopped in for lunch. The raw oysters actually weren't bad. They tasted pretty fresh. I got an order of buffalo wings and I wasn't disappointed. I'm a wing lover so no complaints. It was my first time trying swordfish ever, and I tried it here. I can't say that I'm a fan of swordfish. I grew up on catfish too, though. The texture was different to me compared to catfish, but I'm glad I got to try it. It was cooked perfectly and NOT gamey at all. The French fries here were awesome. I'm a big fan of French fries, and they were perfect here. On the way back from Harrisburg, Illinois my wife got hungry and we love Cajun so she found this place. Wow what a great find. In a restored old part of Paducah we didn't know existed. Neat area with plenty not parking around. There will be a wait during normal eating times as this place is a local favorite for good reason. I had the Crawfish étouffée on rice and my wife had it on noodles. It was awesome. Lots of meat and flavor. They even had Abita Purple Haze to go with it. The servings were huge. Well we walked by this place while we're on our way to the national quilt scene. It was the perfect stop. Our server was Belle . Belle is one of those servers that does everything right. A delightful and delicious find on a road trip through Kentucky. We had great conversations with Chance, who was just an absolutely awesome host and server! Chance gave great food advice, and we just loved chatting with them so much. Very much the utility person! The food was awesome as well! Pretty cool place - the food is good with a fun. N'awlins atmosphere. I had the chicken creole pasta but when it first came out it was served with rice and no pasta. Food is definitely made fresh as when it came out again it was hot and very delicious. Great location close to the National Quilt Museum and downtown Paducah. Had lunch with my Lunch Buddies today. We celebrated Carla's upcoming birthday at Broussard's Cajun restaurant. I ordered the Lunch stir fry Broccoli, carrots, green peppers, onions served on a bed of rice, Janie ordered the stuffed potato with chicken Creole. Sandra and Carla ordered Étouffée and Greta rounded it out with a delicious juicy burger. The food was delicious and everyone had lots of leftovers for dinner tonight. First 2021 review! Boo yah! My parents decided this is where they wanted to take me for my birthday. They're footing the bill, so by all means, let's go! The crowd was appropriate for 5:30 on a Wednesday night; a few empty tables here and there, music playing in the background, and really gives you that Nawlins vibe. Perfect thus far! Our waitress, and I can't remember her name, was an older lady, but super sweet and took VERY good care of us. Exceptional, I would say, and I'm picky about service. Anyways, my parents split the nachos app, my boyfriend has a thing about ordering chicken wings, and I opted for the oysters. The nachos, I will admit, didn't look like much when they came out, but looks are deceiving because they are THAT good--melted cheese, jalapeños, chili underneath and wow. I was shocked. In a good way, obviously. I didn't try a wing because I was too busy slurping my oysters, which were ice cold, fresh, and hit the spot with the lemon, cocktail, and fresh horseradish....and the basket of crackers for those that don't want to slurp from the shell. It was my birthday. I slurped. After all that, there wasn't a need for everyone to order their own entree, so we ordered two of the seafood platters for two, and still had four boxes of carryouts. Catfish, frog legs, clam strips, fried oysters, & shrimp was piled high on these two plates WITH a salads, a bowl of jambalaya each, and either baked potatoes veggies. I ordered the steamed veggies just to make myself feel better about eating fried food, followed by more fried food, then fried food for dessert. My suggestion? Baked potato over the veggies; they were steamed nicely, but the buttery Cajun sauce didn't work for me. Someone let it slip that it was my birthday, so our sweetheart of a waitress brought beignets for the table with a cranberry sauce. I don't like cranberries, but these piping hot and fluffy gifts from God should have come with a wheelchair to roll us out before we ate anything else. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting to be blown away like that, but I was. Truly a gift to the downtown Paducah scene and I hope they stick around for a long, long time!! read more

One of the best spots for delicious food in Paducah! We were blown away with the food we ordered. We tried the Crawfish Étouffée Cajun Pasta, Chicken Etouffee Cajun Pasta, hush puppies and seasoned fried. We tried to order the gator bites as an appetizer but they forgot about it and just never brought it out (even after asking, more on that later). Everything tastes amazing, and the portion sizes were absolutely perfect! All food enjoyed with no obnoxious amounts of food left over. The quiet ambiance of the restaurant was nice, and the interior of the restaurant is very nice. While this place has 5 star quality food, there were a couple of concerns regarding our service. We came in at 6:27 on a Sunday, nearly an hour and a half before closing. We were 1 of 3 other couples dining in the restaurant at that same time, with no other customers in sight. We felt incredibly rushed from the minute we stepped into Broussard's, and the service was just awkward the entire time. They had the check on the table by 7:00, and we were leaving at 7:20. For dinner on a Sunday, we felt like they wanted everyone out to close as quickly as possible, which may explain why they were the least busy restaurant in the downtown area. Our waitress was very awkward and never brought out our appetizer, and at the end of the meal pushed us to do a google review for her since she was "in a competition". Maybe rely on quality service next time and good reviews will come naturally, rather than trying to force guests to awkwardly fill out a google survey while you stand over them and watch us fill it out. So, while the food gains Broussard's a 4 star rating, the service and integrity of the overall dining experience has some room for improvement. read more

We swung in for lunch . I had the 1pc catfish with salad as side and an xx side of red beans and rice $12.18 not bad for lunch. Catfish was a good sized piece and plenty for luch. Breading was flavorful and crisp , perfectly cooked ( fried) Another person had the dinner menu Chicken Creole Parmesean pasta ....... 17.99........ so be sure get lunch special if looking for lower price point. We had an amazing time at Broussard's Paducah this weekend. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. We had to wait, however, my friend is handicapped so we waited outside on the patio. We were able to sit at a table and get drinks. They were short staffed but the server managed to squeeze us in before a big party. Kristen R. was like Wonder Woman. The ambiance was great! Stopped here on our way home from Tennessee because of good reviews. Our server Meghan was good she was fast and attentive. The building itself is very cute, clean, and nice. The food was not amazing. It was okay but I have had much better Cajun dishes before. The pasta tasted as if it was canned spaghetti sauce with some chicken. After hearing this place hyped up by multiple people, we had to come and try it! As a cajun myself, I give it an honest 3/5. The few issues I had was that the seafood was lacking, and you could tell that things had been sitting and drying out for a while. The shrimp in the shrimp creole was small, salad shrimp and really got mushy after presumably sitting all day. The red beans were dried out. The best part of the meal was definitely the crawfish étouffée, but overall everything needed a bit more kick and seasoning. The rice was cooked well, though, and the drinks were good! read more
