I also requested that she change and replace the jewelry in my tragus (another ear piercing). Once she called me in, I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. She is the master piercer here and you could tell she knew what she was doing. The major difference between her and other places, is she will use beautiful starter jewelry. The curved bar she put in my newly pierced rook was a double ended prong gem and I was so excited and I am so pleased. Most places will use a standard barbell and you have to settle with that until it's healed and you can return to have it changed. Since she pierced with this, I am set for years. She also put a beautiful gem in my tragus. I think this is the best place to get pierced in Albany.

He's also the only option you'll find in the area that INCLUDES the price of jewelry in the cost of piercing. He uses stainless steel rings and studs for all his piercings unless you have an allergy and was also willing to let me bring in my own jewelry (no other shops will let you do this because they want to up charge you like crazy for the jewelry). Aside from those things he is clearly very experienced at what he does, and was incredibly kind and patient with me as I tried to decide if I wanted to follow through with the piercing. Would definitely recommend him and go back. On a side not he takes walk-ins which is a godsend when it comes to trying to schedule appointments during Covid. I was going to have to wait a week for all other places minimum.

Then, an important occasion came up and I thought, why not memorialize it with a tattoo? Suddenly, the "no" became a "why not?" Then, the next question. Where to have this tat done? Well, if you look it up on Yelp, The Dead Presidents Lounge has rave reviews. So I called up. Next, I was asked to email what I was looking for. The manager took a look at my request and assigned me to an artist named Mel. There are about 10 artists working there. The art that I was asking for was very delicate. It turns out, Mel is awesome but full disclosure, she has a slogan. It's written on a sign in her tattoo room. "Always late but worth the wait." I arrived 15 minutes early. Mel arrived 20 minutes late. No worries. I brought lunch and ate it in the waiting area. I studied all of the sample tattoos on the walls. It was an interesting place with a Hindu vibe. It was explained to me that the business owner is Hindu. When Mel showed up, she arrived in a cheerful burst of energy and she immediately threw herself into the project. She presented me with options. We talked at length. She was very determined to deliver what I was looking for and very understanding. She has mad skills as both an artist and a communicator. She got it. And when she was done, it was perfect. A floral armband with a tiny blue butterfly was designed to look a bit like arm jewelry. The cost was $200. Mel was concerned that I would be in pain but actually it didn't hurt much. She gave me instructions on how to take care of the tattoo so that it doesn't get infected or dry out. As I was getting ready to leave I asked Mel about her thoughts on Asian fantasy animals. She smiled. "So you're already thinking about your next tattoo?" she asked. " I get that a lot." Yup. my friend and i wanted same day piercings, but it's hard to find in northampton. we booked an…read moreappointment for the next day with Lindsay. they got their ears pierced, and i wanted my navel [redone after 9 years]. landon helped us with setting our appointment and picking our jewelry. for the navel, they have you choose your top pick for jewelry and a backup 2nd style in case your anatomy doesn't work with the jewelry you picked. i was sure which jewelry i wanted, and because i had my navel done before, i was confident that i'd get my first pick. when it comes time to get my piercing, lindsay was very thorough when it came to explaining everything and making markings for placement. unfortunately she said my anatomy wouldn't work with my first pick for jewelry, meaning i had to spend $100+ on a piece i wasn't thrilled about if i wanted to move forward. i almost cancelled, but she said she could potentially place it in a way so that when it healed (in a year), i would be able to use the jewelry i wanted. i've had over 16 piercings in the past, but i removed most of them, so it had been about 10 years since i had any piercing. i'm pretty experienced though. i picked the flower floating navel jewelry and it looked better than i anticipated. i did end up having issues with the disc which caused swelling, discharge and bleeding. my friend loved their ears, and it was very quick minus the markings. i do like that she took her time making sure the markings were in the perfect spot. the place is cute, filled with quality jewelry and decorated with crystals, snacks while you wait. update after 3 months: i had issues healing with the disc, and when i wanted a piercer to check it out at their sister store, they wanted a deposit to look at it. i had a lot of pain and was very nervous if it was infected. i was somewhat surprised they wouldn't even let you walk in without paying, but not so much as they wouldn't take a same day appointment and had a similar attitude. i had to go elsewhere where they looked at it (for free!) and gave me my options, i paid for the ball they switched out the disc for, and surely tipped due to great service. it did feel like they didn't care for our business initially, and they look at you a certain way if you look like you don't have any experience with body mods. i know that is typical for many piercing places which is why i gave them the benefit of 3 stars and not less.
