I do love a good chciken sandwich so when I had the Oppurtunity to check this place out I just had to . Love the whole vibe of the area, with outdoor and indoor seating located on a nice shady street in downtown Davis. The food is cooked to order with options of heat levels from none to crazy. I got the Mild, although the nice slaw on the sandwich fools me into thinking I can go hotter next time The fries were fantastic, crispy and seasoned nicely. Only small quibble, is they take and call out your name when your order is ready, which can be challenging if its very busy and the noise level is high.

Came here for the chicken sandwich and honestly was pretty disappointed. Ordered medium and couldn't taste any spice or seasoning whatsoever -- for a place that's all about hot chicken, that's kind of a big deal. The chicken itself was just bland all around, nothing that made me want to come back. The inside seating is nice though, genuinely a cute spot to eat. I'd maybe try a higher heat level next time but medium should not taste like this at a hot chicken spot. Hopefully they get the seasoning figured out.

Not bad for what it is and doesn't take too long. Just not for me. Tenders had a thick shell-like crust. Spice was added through powder they shook on top, gave an almost Cajun seasoning taste. Normally hate coleslaw but this was good for coleslaw, came with a pickle and a soft yellow bun. The following are pretty standard things that just aren't to my preference: I didn't really like how my tender dripped some oil that didn't really taste fresh and the chicken was just barely fully cooked so the texture was still a little "loose." I got "hot" and it was a bit spicy. Nothing crazy and more flavorful than Canes.

This place was confusing. The chicken tender and piece in burger had a strange outside shape but inside tastes good. The smash burger was a bit sad, tasted meh. Food was fresh, fries were crispy. Staff was nice and friendly but food didnt hit as good as like daves hot chicken.

Ordered the sliders. It was ok. I Wish there was more slaw & sauce. I had to cut my slider & use a knife & fork. The bun was good. The crazy fries is good. Staff are ok. It wasn't too busy but took a little to get my order. There's outside seating & seating indoors.

Come here you have to try the oversized chicken breast deep fried with your choice of Mild, spicy or fire spicy powder. The chicken breast is halal and it's never Frozen and they do deep fry and me to order for sure. . I also really like there crinkle cut fries it is always the best kind of fries that I can say when I go to a restaurant. . Also don't forget to try their pink sauce which is a really great sauce to dip in everything. They also have your classic Smashburger which is really good and I like it without the sauce. . The service here is friendly and Ambience is casual and has a really big space for you to sit and enjoy and catch up with your friends. The location of the spot is in the hot spot where Temple coffee and a really good boba shop is all right next door. . Overall if you like spicy and you like your deep fried chicken and you like Halal chicken this is the spot to go to. Hope this helps and things for reading and have a yelptastic day.

Order them Doordash. Not the biggest fan of their mac and cheese flavoring and also their "half-and-half" is a bit misleading. I was craving some fries so I got an order of their loaded fries with the spicy chicken. However, I also decided to try their mac-and-cheese so decided to pay the extra $1 for the half-and-half. Unfortunately, their "half-and-half "was about 75% mac... fry craving not satisfied :( Additionally, the mac was just really wet and pretty flavorless. There was obviously the cheese taste but it could have done with a little bit of salt. The fries were good though! They were nice and crispy and went well with the chicken. The chicken itself is seasoned pretty well but I would recommend picking one of the hotter spice levels (for this order in particular). The mac and cheese dilutes the flavor like crazy so you'll need something more flavorful to help elevate it. In the future, WOULD NOT order the mac and cheese. Might order again to try their tenders or just the fries though.

Was looking forwards to a new chicken place in Davis, but it ended up being a disappointment. The chicken pieces were dry and unappetizing, and the "spice" level was just determined by how much the chicken was doused in cayenne pepper. The staff also were not particularly friendly.

We got there right at opening and the server/hostess, Aurora, greeted us with a warm smile and welcome. There are two choices of spots to sit at - low tables/booths or high top tables with stools. We opted for a low table. I ordered the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries and my friend ordered the Chinichurri Tri-Tip sandwich with a side salad. When our meals came out, we were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes! I feel like I had a lot of fries on my plate and the sandwich was stuffed with meat! The place itself is really nice. The scenery is cute, modern, and has a great vibe, especially for brunch or special occasions. It definitely feels like a spot you would want to celebrate at or take pictures in. However, the food did not live up to my expectations. My potatoes tasted pretty bland and could have used more seasoning. I also ordered pancakes, and they just were not cooked to perfection. They felt slightly overcooked and not as soft or buttery as I was hoping for. I really think they could have added more butter or richness to bring the dish together. The wait was also pretty long, and for me, it did not feel worth it in the end. The overall style reminds me a bit of Crepeville, but with a more modern look. That being said, I would personally rather spend my money at Crepeville and get better quality food. Overall, the atmosphere is really sweet and enjoyable, but the food just did not hit for me this time. Maybe I did not order the right thing, so I might be open to trying it again, but based on this visit, I was not fully impressed.
