They also have boneless chicken wings as well to your boneless chicken tender to. . I always get mild because I don't like the too spicy just to enjoy it. I also like their Chicken and Waffles which is really nice because they have a really good honey butter if you like sweet and butter savory. . I also like getting there chicken and waffles. The waffle is crispy and it is great with some syrup with pairing the fried chicken too. . Came in on a Saturday 6/6/26 afternoon with a party of 6 ppl. Is not around here but my kids suggested this place from Yelp. Ordered & sat. The workers give you your food. What we ordered: Classic chicken sandwich no heat w/potato wedges - good and moist chicken Chicken tenders w/mac and cheese 8pc buffalo wings- very tangy Kids meal chickens tender w/potato wedges- nephew loved the chicken! The hype is real with this place. They say they have the crispiest chicken and they aren't lying! This is the first hot chicken place with a menu that doesn't offer just the basic hot fried chicken. I was thoroughly impressed by all the different options. From a grilled cheese sandwich, to loaded fries and even milkshakes. The Mac and cheese looked pretty good too. The chicken here can get spicy depending on the level you choose. Went with mild and still felt a heavy spice presence. The fries here are were cut, phenomenal. Not many hot chicken places do the fries like this. Plenty of sauce options and each extra one is 50 cents. My son got the HOT seasoning and his nose was running and eyes were watering. There's plenty of parking, and while it was busy for a Friday night, we easily found a table. They have about 7-8 tables inside fitting 2-4 people. It's easy, you order at the counter and they bring the order to your table when it's ready. We each ordered the original hot chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese. My dad got the medium heat (spark), I got the heat level one step up from that. It was a great heat level. Made my nose water at times. I made the mistake of purchasing 5 extra sauces - don't be like me lol - each sandwich comes with a side sauce as well. We both got the mac n cheese as our side, which was a solid Mac and cheese, what you would expect at a fast casual joint, very creamy. The food was great, and I would've happily considered it an occasional treat. Unfortunately, the pricing experience for my second visit completely changed how I felt about supporting the business. When I returned with someone else, they looked up the menu online and quoted prices that were about $5 less than what I had paid. At first, I assumed they were mistaken because I knew the place was pricey. Then they showed me the website. Sure enough, many of the in-store prices were significantly higher anywhere from 75% to double in some cases. That honestly left me feeling like I had overpaid far more than expected. I understand online pricing can differ, but seeing such a large discrepancy between advertised prices and in-store pricing felt misleading and uncomfortable. We ended up leaving because it didn't sit right with us. Maybe it's a franchise owner setting separate prices, I don't know, but transparency matters. I don't want to have to price check my lunch, especially if I only brought cash or can't order online. That difference could've gone a long way toward another sandwich. The Red Chickz is the newest, fast casual hot chicken joint in the greater Sacramento area, and I had a great first experience this weekend! I stopped by to taste their menu, and the owners were very warm, welcoming, and generous. From chicken sandwiches to home style offerings, The Red Chickz has it all, including items you typically wouldn't find at a hot chicken spot such as salads and tacos. We ordered the Classic Chicken Sandwich with spark (medium) spice, the Original Sandwich with spark (medium) spice, Honey butter Sandwich (signature item!), Loaded Buffalo Mac-N-Cheese with glow (mild) spice, side of Cheese Curds, and a medium Vanilla Shake. Staff recommended spark since there's a big jump in spice level between medium and hot - i.e, Bonfire. I appreciated staff's recommendations and their attention to detail while taking our order. While dining in, I noticed staff diligently cleaning tables and restocking swag, and you can tell that everyone takes pride in their work. My personal favorites were the Classic Chicken Sandwich with Potato Wedges (must order!) and Loaded Buffalo Mac-N-Cheese. Really good portions, huge tenders. Well-seasoned fries but chicken is DRY and kind of flavorless. Price is pretty decent to comparable "hot chicken" spots (i.e. Dave's, Crazy D's, etc.) This review is based purely on food since I ordered it to-go! Food (4/10) I wish I could say the food was really good, especially since it LOOKS really good. I'll start with the positives. The tenders themselves are really big and have a pretty nice crunch. The french fries are well seasoned and I like the potato wedge uses. My biggest complaint about this place is the chicken is incredibly dry. I'm not even sure why it's particularly bad here but the chicken can be pulled apart individually by the fibers/shredded (think Costco chicken) and I'm not exaggerating when I say that there isn't a single bit of moisture in that chicken. Before anyone comes for me and says that it's because I got it to-go: 1.) It did not touch the microwave and 2.) just because it was take-out doesn't mean that the chicken still can't be juicy. I definitely would give it a second chance just to see if an in-person experience was better BUT if I was normally given this, I would probably avoid and recommend you going somewhere else. The last comment I have to make about the food is that the spice is pretty toned down here so pick one of the higher spice levels. I tried their mild (glow) and their medium (spark) and both really didn't have much kick to it. Aside from the spiciness, it just didn't really have much flavor. The outer batter was crusted with the spices so it tasted alright but the inside chicken was just bland. Dry and flavorless chicken is kind of a recipe for disaster... The sauces are the saving grace of this place. The chipotle ranch is creamy and definitely helps with the dry chicken issue. The butter honey gives an interesting sweet tang to the chicken (more of an acquired taste but try it if that speaks to you). I'd give it another try if it was convenient but isn't definitely something I'm jumping at the opportunity to do. I love spicy chicken. I have eaten the hottest on the scale at many hot chicken places. Some are better than others. While I will usually try the hottest stuff, I usually will return with unburned tastebuds to try their other flavors. I will almost definitely return to this place. Here are my thoughts on it. The Good: The service is excellent. Friendly and patient. They gave me a nunber, but a few minutes after ordering a friendly and smiling lady delivered my food to the table. The quality of the chicken is great. Nice thick tenders. Crunchy batter. Their french fries are thick and cooked perfectly. The seasoning is mid, but better than no seasoning. The 3 tender meal is a reasonable value coming with 3 pickles and a slice of bread. The cons: Their flavors dont make sense. They go from mildly spicy to the next level up which is ghost pepper and habanero. And there are 2 more levels above that. It makes it hard to feel like the top of their scale is completely insane, but there is no middle to the scale. The value is uneven and weird. A 3 tender meal costs slightly less than a sandwich that has one smaller tender on it, albeit with a giant glob of honey butter on it. Get the tenders. The 3 tender meal is fairly priced and quite good. Their house dipping sauce sucks. I would have rather had a choice of sauce, but it was extra money for other sauces. This would be an easy fix they could implement even without changing the recipe of the light orange puss that is the house sauce. Their fountain drinks are overpriced. The ambiance is OK. Just a little loud because its all concrete. The worst: Ok, so youtube type "influencers" are the most degraded lowlife humans on the planet. I can barely stand watching one in any context. But for some inexplicable reason a screen next to their menu loops video of several dirtbag influencers stuffing their faces with red chickz products. It's just disgusting and pointless - you already lured me in the door, you don't need to influence me. It was sort of an appetite killer and quite frankly did a lot of harm to their presentation of a quality product. It felt cheap and well...desperate. If you dine in try to sit with your back to the counter. They would be well served to stop using that video. I will be back. I probably will get the hotter tenders, but I will get them to go and skip the noisy room with the disgusting video. The line was super long, but I will chalk that up to it being grand opening and grand openings in Woodland are super busy as everyone in town hears about a restaurant and goes to try it. I'm just giving you a time so that you understand that it is the commitment to go there in the first couple days of a business's opening. We were that committed. Ok, so as one reviewer already mentioned, there is quite a jump between medium and hot, so be warned. The hot tender was pretty spicy and I needed a little milk to go with it. The French toast chicken sandwich has potential, but it could use some more toast to the bread as well as some powdered sugar. It tasted great with maple syrup! The potato wedges are some of the best in Woodland. For us, the flavor of the waffles and the crunch, taste, and juiciness of the chicken made the trip worth it! It was a grand opening, so there were a lot of employees on hand. We were there towards the end of the day and they were hanging in there. There were still lots of smiles, and the manager was very friendly. The cashier at the counter was very welcoming and made the ordering process very smooth. All in all, the employees were handling the chaos of the first big day of business very well.
