Came here after seeing the photos on Yelp. My husband was craving a fried chicken sandwich. Thanks to Yelp-found this place. My husband ordered the Super Cluk and I ordered Chicken and Waffles. The first bite of his sandwich he was happy we came here. He said that the chicken was seasoned well, bacon was delicious and the waffle was exactly how he likes it. The egg was the icing on the cake (sandwich). Just the combination he loves. My chicken and waffle was exactly what I was craving. Light and malty taste. Comes with cute bottles of maple syrup. Chicken tenders are delicious and perfectly fried. Also had the strawberry milkshake. So good that there was none left. A staff member came out to check on how we enjoyed the food and I was happy to report that it was delicious. Enjoyed the food and sat outside on a beautiful evening. Came in on a Saturday with one person working. I felt so bad for her she was the only one there to take orders, prep food, bring food out, etc. Absolutely unacceptable and makes you wonder how/if one person can properly clean and keep food fresh while being alone to run the entire place. She did a great job and everything came out hot and fresh but something didn't sit right with our stomachs unfortunately. Again, I don't blame this one girl who was trying her best. We chose this spot after our walk at the UCD Arboretum. I am a sucker for chicken and waffles so I was excited to try them out. We ordered at the counter and sat outside. I ordered the standard chicken and waffles and my girlfriend ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (on a brioche bun) with tater tots. We were super comfortable sitting outside and didn't even take note of how long it took to get our food. I LOVE the little syrup bottles. They are so cute!! The breading on the tenders was nice and crispy and the waffles were so crisp! The big dollop of butter was perfect! My girlfriend said the chicken sandwich was great. The brioche must have been nice and soft bedside she definitely had to pick it out of her teeth. Hahahah! The tater tots were deliciously crispy and crunchy! The portion size of my meal was enough for me to eat half and save half for later. The breading on the chicken was a little spicier than I had anticipated, so expect that if you order it. I went to Bruxie for dinner with a friend and we both had a great experience. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and she got the chicken sandwich. The food came out in under 10 minutes, hot and fresh. The chicken was well seasoned, crispy, and honestly so good I almost burned my tongue trying to eat it right away. The waffles and syrup really grew on me, and adding the chicken made it even better. Customer service was amazing, and they've got some good deals going on for Picnic Day too. 4.5 stars. My first experience was sooo good that I came back today. Lol. The chicken is prepared fresh each time so there's a short wait but it is definitely worth the wait. The tenders are exactly that - crunchy, tender and juicy! I had 2 strips and tater tots. The tots were perfect - crunchy and soft at the same time. I'm sprung. Lol. I had the habanero flavor and the heat was just right. I didn't enjoy the dipping sauces (honey mustard and ranch) because the consistency was too runny for me but portion sizes and the lemonade are really good. If you don't like sweet lemonade you might want to choose something else. I didn't see a name tag but the African American lady working the register and cooking was SUPER nice and friendly. Her persona was sweet and genuine. She also volunteered to bring my order to the table. It's nice to dine where there is such great hospitality! Thank you!! Definitely a good dining experience. Woah! I've wanted to try this place for a bit now, and I finally got the chance. It did not disappoint! The waffles were so crispy, and the chicken (BREAST, btw) was soooo juicy. Bruxie is a chain, so I've been to other locations before. This particular location is conveniently located with lots of other restaurants. There is a large parking, but it can get quite busy, so you'll have to drive around to find a spot. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available, which is perfect on a nice sunny day. The service here is pretty good. The cashier was helpful and suggested strawberry lemonade which was not displayed but located in the back. The strawberry lemonade is superb! There's real strawberries in there!! You can tell because at the bottom, there are strawberry seeds. The fountain drink and strawberry lemonade is refillable. You can't go wrong with any of the waffles here. Food is made to order, so it comes out perfectly hot and crispy. The chicken is also immaculately battered because it's not too thick, yet not too thin. It's crispy and the chicken is juicy. Indoor seating is located separately from the cashier area, which i don't mind because it does give you more privacy and less foot traffic. I also like that there are two separate areas for outdoor seating. One outdoor seating is at the very front of the restaurant a the other is under a tree, shaded, on the side, which keeps it cool. My go to are the chicken tenders and fries combo because it's actually fairly economical with how much food you get. The tenders are huge, crispy, flavorful, and juicy. And their dipping sauces are exquisite - the bruxie sauce is like a chic fil a sauce their ranch is house made and so delicious. I've also gotten their MASSIVE chicken sandwich and absolutely loved it, and their breakfast burritos are enormous and filling without drowning in grease! Also, the milkshakes are divine! I got to meet the owner one time and he made feel so welcome! Very charismatic, funny guy. It was 10:00 am and my tummy was craving for breakfast food after bootcamp. For some reason, I expected the waffle to be thicker, hearty with more texture?. The waffle reminded me of an eggo waffles. Don't get me wrong, I like eggo waffles. It just didn't do it for me. It wasn't bad, but it didn't blow me away. I'm looking at the menu closely again. I think I should have gotten the Super Cluck!, which has chicken, bacon and sunny-side up egg. I also got a side of the Spiced Tots, which was extra crispy with paprika? and some other seasoning. It was very good and a generous portion. The service is good. The worker that took my order had offered to bring the food to me when it's ready. I came here on a whim... headed home from work super excited because I've heard amazing things. I ordered the kickin Nashville sandwich.. and yes it was kickin! You could taste the different spices for the first 4-5 bites and then your mouth just feels like it's on fire and you can no longer taste flavors or anything else lol! But all that said it was still pretty good. I would go back and try something else... if I could have done this and 2/3rds the spice it would have been perfect. The flavor was there, but it was just way too much of it! I tried to decipher if it was either the chicken, fries, or ranch that made my sodium levels go through the roof but I came to the conclusion that it was all of the above. I can't speak for the rest of the menu/their signature entrees, but if the core ingredient tasted like this I'm sure it could've also affected other dishes. But also, maybe the extra fillings in their sandwiches help tone done the saltiness. Overall I'd say this place is worth a try! A place for comfort food~ I love a good chicken tender and their tenders are delicious! I've been here several times. Tried a few different menu items but every time I'll have to also get some jumbo tenders. During this visit I got chicken tenders in honey hot and original chicken waffles sandwich. The waffle sandwich is a signature. The chicken is tender and flavorful, and the waffle is just the perfect vessel to enclose all the flavors. It's savory with a little sweet. Not moving on to the tenders. If you like spicy definitely try the honey hot. Ah it's so good! And if you want something more mild go for the original seasoning. They are both good~ Service is good and food is freshly made. So it might take a little while for food to come out but it comes out super fresh! I can confidently say that the tenders here beat out Canes' chicken fingers. I have been coming in about every 3 or so months since last year when they changed management and you could tell it was ran better. I drive up from vacaville just for this chicken. This time I was heavily dissapointed. I did not see the manager i enjoyed speaking with but it was dirty and sticky. The lady in there looked sloppy and was not wearing gloves while cooking my food. Gave this place another shot - I think the crew and the staff that were there this time seemed much more interested and involved with the restaurant than my previous encounter. Not only were they courteous and provided solid recommendations, but they were helpful with helping us set up a table so that our small kiddo could eat with us comfortably. Food quality is decent - the waffle chicken sandwiches were good, although I still wish the presentation and/or sides would be a little better arranged. Fries were hot and well-seasoned. Came to Bruxie on a rainy Thursday evening. It wasn't busy and I got my food in a timely manner. The staff are friendly and the playlist was fire with the oldies rnb hits. I tried the loaded tots and the kickin Nashville waffle sandwich. The tots were fried to perfection and perfectly crispy. I think it was a bit overloaded with the cheese sauce and i would have preferred if more sour cream and chives were added. So...they seem to have changed management...they are GREAT people. The Manager and the store owner are SUPER nice. But they changed important parts of what makes Bruxie great... 1) they use a difference syrup. They dont give you the one in the glass bottle no more. That i dont mind, but it IS DIFFERENT. Its not as sweet as the original, meaning it doesnt even pair correctly with the waffle. 2) they use a different butter. Their original butter was very soft in texture, spreadable. But the butter they give you now? its just your standard butter with also a different taste. Yet altering the original taste of the Bruxie experience. Managment. Please revert back to the original items. Please dont cut corners. What makes bruxie is NOT just the waffle + chicken. The other parts are just as important and integral to the whole experience. read more

I returned for a weeknight dine-in, this time going for the [original seasoned] three-piece jumbo tenders with waffle fries, and sharing a loaded tots. I tried the stone-ground honey mustard and housemade ranch dips, but my favorite was the Bruxie sauce (hint of maple?). Note the stone ground mustard is more of a kick than the "creamy" honey mustard. I was too "chicken" to try the Honey Hot or Kickin' Nashville spice levels, but the original was just right for me. The tots were loaded indeed, with cheese sauce, bacon, sour cream, and chives. Unfortunately, the frozen custard machine was again being finicky and we struck out again for milkshakes/cups. Great service from Donovan and the other gal that night! Shared parking with Mikuni, Halal Guys, My Burma, Local Kitchens, etc. in the Davis Commons. You can also reach this area from campus via First Street, or the Arboretum. The chicken remains the star, although I have yet to also try a waffle sandwich (savory or sweet). read more

Everything is so delicious at Bruxie's! I have visited 2 times within 2 months. From the milkshakes to the mac n cheese, I have been able to try most of the menu with my visits and nothing was disappointing so far. The staff are super nice and ready to provide tips and suggestions. The restaurant has college student vibes and they do have indoor and outdoor seating available. They have a few tvs showing sports games and cartoons in the indoor seating area. Plenty of parking and clean restrooms. Overall, this place was pretty good. Mostly focused on fried chicken, this place has variations of this dish. I had a plate of the Chicken Tenders and the Loaded Waffle Fries. The chicken was flavorful and spiced well, but a bit tough and chewy. The waffle fries were very good and had great flavors: salty, tangy, sweet. I also had a Strawberry Custard Shake, which was just okay - it was overly sweet. I think they add sweet strawberry syrup/flavor to vanilla custard, which made it double sweet...if I were you order a shake again, I'd just get vanilla. The service was very warm and friendly. My partner and I were thrilled with their menu options (as huge chicken sando fans), and we ordered the kickin' Nashville hot bun sandwich and original fried chicken and waffle sandwich. Bruxie uses a walk-up counter service model, and we seated ourselves in the dining room. We were captivated by the flashing signage, but admittedly, it felt distracting after a while. When our food came out, we were excited to dig in. My bun sandwich was falling apart in my hands, and I recommend that Bruxie wrap their sandwiches to mitigate this problem. My partner also struggled to eat the chicken and waffle sandwich and described the waffle as dissolving under the weight of the chicken.
