Crazy Horse Campground - Lake Havasu Review This was honestly one of the worst experiences I've had at any campground. The customer service here is a complete disaster. The staff are unhelpful, unprofessional, and seem like they simply don't care about the guests at all. Any issue or question turns into a problem because no one is willing to help or take responsibility. The attitude toward customers is terrible, and it feels like they treat people like an inconvenience rather than guests. For a place that attracts so many visitors to Lake Havasu, the management and service are extremely disappointing. The organization is poor, communication is bad, and the overall experience was frustrating. I would not recommend staying here. There are much better places around Lake Havasu where people actually care about their customers. Very disappointing experience. read more

I paid for 2 months, June + July. I was there for 5 days in June and had to leave because my RV broke and had to go in for warranty repair. The manager Angela refused to give me in house credit for the month of July. This company does not follow it's own policies and the manager is very unfair! read more

Bath houses are filthy, roads are terrible (seriously, make sure you have a flashlight at night- the potholes are enough to break an ankle) and the whole place could use a coat of paint. We had a reservation for 4 Days at this campground, they did say it is non refundable because of the Desert storm boating event, but we had an unexpected incident my brother in law who was coming out and was a participant in the event had a massive heart attack and had a quadruple bypass and thank God he will be ok!!! We have to travel to Wisconsin from Henderson NV to help so we cannot use the campground, we called ,and the Manager said no refund and wouldn't even listen to our situation and would not give us anyone else to talk with!!! I know they get made up calls all the time of people trying to get out of their reservations but we could prove everything and they would not even listen!!! So we are out $400 , Please be aware that this campground won't even Listen so be careful when making a reservation!!! read more

So, my good friend booked 3 nights. He had to change dates because he had to do radiation and treatment for cancer twice. He called them to try to get a refund and the girl refused to give him a refund! Money hungry. I guess it's the "New World". Been coming to Crazy Horse since the late70s, early 80s. Do not go here. Management is horrible and treats customers like thieves. Had a family member stay there and paid $80 for the power hookup to their site to be broken. When and employee told them to run an extension cord to the neighboring empty camping site. Which was fine and worked until the management came screaming, calling them thieves and calling the cops and getting them trespassed. She was so loud and obnoxious. It caused another camper to get upset with her and pack all of their belongings and leave and go to a new campground as well. read more

Onions to Crazyhorse Campground. We have a family party with 7-8 campsites every year for Fathers Day. We camp with friends and a couple of our regular customers who have become great friends. (Like Family ) They refuse to let our personal Rv and some of our RV rentals into their campground. We had some dropped into spots and we were hooking up the RV's to move out and they went as far as calling the cops and asked us all to leave because they have a rental contract with JR Motors. All of our RV's are nice NEWER fifth wheels and trailers. Our business slogan is Luxury Rv Rentals. We will never refer our customers to their RV park ever again. We generate a lot of business to them throughout the year. Funny thing is they had several available RV spots and every camp ground we called in Havasu & Parker was fully booked. Avoid row D as the hook ups have LOW VOLTAGE PROBLEMS. Both site 23 and 25 had extreme issues that cost us an entire day of repairs April 10-13 of this year. Surge protectors don't protect your RV from low voltage. When you have low voltage your amperage goes way up and you pop / replace inverters and many fuses. Resort is old and tired. The pool is clean, but the cool deck around the pool is popping up in many spots and buildings need paint. Washer and dryers worked well.. Location is great but it's not worth the repair hassles. read more

Overall it was fine...a little pricey for one night stay for us, but was the only thing available. My son and I tried two separate showers at the same time and there was not enough water pressure or hot water for that. I had to turn mine off and just wait. A lady came in with a water hose and started spraying out the men's restroom while he was in there?.?. Friendly staff, the grounds are kind of "tired" - needs a little clean up. Women's restroom was in need of repair- hole in the wall, needing of paint, freshening up. Men's toilets were more plugged than not. Stickers they put on vehicles did not come off very easily. Could be a great place with some fixing up. Maybe plant some more trees or bushes to make it seem less like a desert and more like an Oasis. read more

Really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt but it was not a great experience. Rented one of their park cabins/trailers and they changed the one we originally reserved without warning or notice. Not a big deal except the unit we were in had a TERRIBLE sewer smell when we arrived. Thought it might have been dried out drains. Woke up first morning it was gone but still went to the office to alert them. Also our unit was missing the fire extinguisher that was obviously missing from the side of a cabinet. By the end of our first full day the smell was back, by that time the office was closed. Went to main gate and without me telling them which unit we were in, they knew exactly where we were staying. Ongoing issue that no one seems to know the cause and instead of investigating it further they continue to book people in it and don't care. Told us they don't know where the smell is coming from so they can't just call someone out for a smell. Shows how much they care. It is very clearly an issue with the AC unit. We went through a entire bottle of Febreze, that we purchased in the 3 days we were there to help. Couple of the windows had no windows coverings. Slider had mismatched vertical blinds that have seen better days and multiple fell the first time we entered. Raised issue to maintenence guy who was apologetic and reported to the front office only to come back and tell us that they needed to get approval to replace. Never heard a peep again. We also asked about renting a boat slip while we were there but told no those were for different reservation types. Guess what. Most slips were empty our entire stay. I'm glad they didnt get more of our money but they absolutely could have. 2 stars given because of the nice workers we did encounter who were powerless to do anything for us. read more

Stayed in one of the 'cabins' in Crazy Horse. There was a lot to be desired in the upkeep of the unit. Definitely not worth the $160/night we paid during the offseason. Many broken, damaged or otherwise unfinished parts for this very small singlewide park model. The deck was nice and large and also covered as well as parking was covered. read more

The place is decent, with VERY small campsites for trailers/rvs. Our neighbor got there before us and his slide out encroached into our site, making it even smaller. I throughly enjoy being out side while camping, bugs and all but this was not the place to do that. The NATS. Omg the nats! They are in swarms! So bad we could not stay outside our trailer no matter the time of day. We tried everything we had, and no luck to rid them. Some sites seemed to have it worse than others. They were bad at the water too. We will probably camp elsewhere next time just because of the nats. And I stay in Havasu multiple times a year to understand this place as a nat problem. If you choose to stay here, you'll enjoy the view and access to the water, but pick a corner lot or on a curve, because the sites in Row I are tight. (Example: sites I15-I23) Oh and the sticker ugh! I have stayed here twice first time was good but the second time was a hot nightmare our power kept shutting off every 5-10mins so our camper was hooooot inside we called multiple times to the front office they would send out a worker with no change it kept shutting off when I called another time and tried to explain to the employee she just cut me off and hung up on me ,office staff is rude . Our neighbors at the the camp next to us came up later that night asked us we had issues they also expressed staff was rude to them . When your paying for certain amenities and they aren't useful your just wasting Your money and on top of that the staff being rude to you as a paying customer is not worth it for me . read more

My Parents had their RV and my husband and i and our two kids would be staying in a tent. We called a couple weeks ahead and made a reservation for three nights for $180. I told the girl on the phone that we would be camping in our tent and want to be able to do so right next to my parent's RV. She reserved us a spot on the hill that she said had a great view and would have plenty of space for our tent. We called back later and asked about adding on one more tent for my in-laws. She said that would not be allowed and I offered to ad on an additional RV Spot next to my parents to put our tents in and she said don't worry about it just put their tent next to your RV. My parents arrived first in the RV and someone was parked in our reserved spot. They called the office and let them know . It was clear that they were not planning on kicking the other people out of our spot so my parents starting driving around looking for a new spot. No one guided them. they had to drive in circles looking for a location then calling the office to see if that one would be okay. It took quite a few rounds before they finally found one down the hill pretty close to the water. There were a couple really awesome spots that we would have liked to park in that would have been great for setting up our tent nearby that we were told were reserved but no one parked in them the whole weekend (we watched) We would have been willing to pay extra for those spots if they were a premium but we were simply told no. Our spot was fine but there was not really adequate room for tent camping next to it. We were able to fit our tent but its a good thing my in-laws didn't end up coming because i have NO IDEA how we could have squeezed two tents in. Would have been nice if there had been fire rings around we could have used but there weren't (except for at those super nice spots that were reserved that no one ever parked in) Two days into our stay my husband was stopped at the guard gate and told we owed $40 more because we were parked in a waterfront spot. After we explained our situation she let us go without paying it but only some long awkward explanations. she was not rude but it was unpleasant. they put a parking pass sticker on our car that wont come off... Overall we had a nice trip. The park is a nice walking distance from the London Bridge and has a great view. This would be a great place to go if you are into boating and watersports. I just wish things had been more organized and that we didn't have sticker residue on our front windshield as a souvenir. read more

Stayed here on an impromptu visit while traveling through Lake Havasu. Super helpful staff. We were at first put in a site we didn't like but we asked to be moved and they were very accommodating. No sewer hookups but there is a dump station. We loved the waterfront and spot. No dog park offered here. The grounds seem old and could be better cared for. Didn't appreciate the sticker they put on our vehicle and trailer for 1 night. They do not come off! The gentleman at the guard shack super nice and helpful. We would stay again but will research the spot ahead of time. read more

The place was dirty one of the doors didn't lock! I would never stay there again! Our refer anyone to this place I had to go buy pots and paper goods cause all of the dishes and pots were dirty not clean and they said they charge a $200 cleaning fee. So we're sitting here at Crazy Horse in the overflow area with water & electric hookups. Early this afternoon the maintenance people were digging with their backhoe down the way from us and they broke the water line that serves 8 overflow campsites. By 4:30 all the workers left and nobody up here had water. At no time did anyone from the park inform us that the water would be off for the night. We spoke to the gatehouse kid that knew very little of what was going on. We had him call his manager, Tammy, who had zero accommodations for us. There wasn't even an offer that we could shower somewhere or where we could aquire water for the night so we could flush our toilets. We have been told that they will fix it tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath. Very poor customer service! Oh, we also got a new neighbor yesterday. When he plugged in to the 50 amp electric it fried all of the electronics in his motor home. Rough times at the Crazy Horse Campground Lake Havasu. We probably won't be back. Very sketchy facility with Zero customer service! read more

Pros... convenient location Nice view of lake if you're on the lower part of the campground. Cons... park is not maintained. The bathroom facilities are filthy. There is trash all over the beach. The cement pads at the campsites are broken and dangerous. There were people emptying their sewage at night (there isn't sewer hookups at any of the lower sites) Sites are very small. Our granddaughters toys were stolen when we left for a couple of hours. Loose dogs. People speeding in both cars and their ATVs. Very noisy... speeding boats, ATVs and a lot of partying. The staff does not patrol like they're suppose to. When I called about these things later(no one was there to talk to when we were there) they only offered excuses. This was our 2nd time here and we traveled 900 miles one way. (the family that we met there traveled 1100 miles one way) We will not go back! Please keep in mind making the reservation that there isn't a refund regardless once you make that reservation. You can only change the dates. My advice is go to one of the nice state parks. It's also much cheaper. read more

We've stayed here a few times now. Just spent the long 4th of July weekend there. We like it because the sites are basically right on the water. The beach sites have electric and water only, but for a long weekend electricity is all we need (for the AC!! it was HOT!). No issues with power for the whole weekend. The campsite gets crowded on busy weekends, so hard to keep totally clean, but I think they did a pretty good job. People always seem to complain about bad service. How much service do people need? We had pleasant interactions with everyone that worked there, but actually didn't have many since we are there to camp by ourselves and enjoy the lake. We also enjoy the onsite boat rental place, Rentals on the Beach - we rented a pontoon from them for one of the days. It was a great time at a reasonable price, considering fuel is included. The beach is mostly gravel and rock now, but that's ok. Better than not having a beach. It used to be more sandy years ago, but all that must have washed away. You can set up a canopy next to or in the water, and enjoy the day right near your camp. read more

The only good thing about this place is the location. In my case, we stayed here to be near the International Jet Ski Finals. I was followed into a parking lot by a woman bent on lecturing me extensively about having made a wrong turn into the parking lot. Her behavior was excessive and I finally had to tell her she was wasting her breath, because I wasn't returning. This left me with a really bad impression. I waited three days to calm down and it hasn't happened yet. I'm old enough to be her mother! read more

Upon renting our spot months in advance we wake up Saturday morning to find out the beach & apparently the water in front of the campsite had been rented. The manager refused to talk to us and when she did she never apologized for the inconvenience. The whole point of renting a site on the water was for the water. Then we are told for two days they have the beach?! Absolutely ridiculous. The lady in the office was amazing though. She had no idea this was happening and she really tried to help even though her hands were ties. We were forced to move spots after being here and already set up for 2 days just so our kids could use the water. Strongly recommend NOT staying here. We will NOT be receiving a refund the manager finally told us when she decided to show her face. She didn't even apologize!!!! Amazing views. Friendly staff when arriving. THAT'S IT. We were tent camping. Online it says there's 400 something tent camping spots. That's definitely NOT the case. There's a small area that looks more like a dog area where the tents are. We paid extra to get an RV spot and put our tent up.Campsite had trash and glass all over. Even a broken glass bong. Seemed ok. Until a big group across from us decided to BLAST a loud speaker with offensive rap music. That was fun explaining to our 5yr old. The group had about 30 people. With 10+ kids. After the sunset is when it got worse. The group then decided to turn their music up so loud we were yelling to even have a conversation. They seemed to of thought it was a Tejano night club. Security drove through slowly with their window down. We thought they would say something especially considering the "RULES" on the paper we got when entering said "No loud music or boom boxes". Nope. They kept driving. The group got worse as it got later. At 2am my husband went over and asked them to turn the music down, turn their flood lights off that faced our site. They went from a 10 to a 7. Saturday we took our kids to the beach area. It was all rock. Glass and trash everywhere. Dead fish laying on the shore as well. My 5yr old got some kind of cactus stuck in his foot and we were done. Saturday evening the group across from us again blasted music. Got in screaming arguments with each until 2am. We will definitely not be returning to this place. There's so many other spots in Havasu. For the price to stay we didn't expect the experience we had. read more

First of all: 1. Paid $375 for pull thru RV(full hook up) 6/4/22 to 6/9/22. 1 person and 2 dogs. 2. Their electrical cause my AC to shut down twice. 3. Had to go ask for the trash to be taken out. 4. Dirt and more dirt in camping sites. No shade period other than trailer awning. 5. The sticker they put on my truck and trailer could only be removed with a paint scrapper. 6. Security very rude over me driving past 15 MPH. She told me to F off when I told her to shove it. 7. The perfect spot to camp in havasu for lake access. I had a great view of the lake from my spot. I took a golf cart and was able to use it everywhere in including the downtown. We rented a seadoo and a boat right here in the park, that was cool. The reason for 4 stars is that they are limited on the hook ups only water and power. The 30 amp power was down to 100 volts for most of the day so I would not recommend running the AC on that. They had wifi but you have to pay for a plan just to use it. read more

The good - location, private boat ramp, great views and operations guys are nice. The bad - some of the junk they let people live/camp there is really junky and an eye sore. Then the crap they are allowed to hoard in their spots make it look like a junk yard. One person obviously living in their RV had a boat that had caught fire many moons ago. Inside burnt out, flat tires and had been there so long the blue tarp had rotted away years ago. It makes the place feel like a junk yard in some areas. Now if I was paying $30 a night I would expect junkie RV's but at the rate they command you should not have to look at all they junk around the park. The only thing good about this resort is that it has a beautiful morning view. No sewer hook up and the water has a lot of rock pebbles so be sure to wear water shoes. I wanted rent a golf cart and the manager was a major B****. Very rude red tall headed lady. I did mot end up renting the golf cart because of her horrible rude attitude. This place is awful. We got suckered into a 4 night minimum stay but stayed less than 24 hours! We thought we were getting full hook ups. The 30 amp wasn't enough to run the AC on our 21 foot trailer or our brother in laws 23 foot toy hauler. How can the amps not be enough for two separate spaces? It was 108 degrees and we were so worried that our dog would roast if we went out on the boat, so we stayed in the muckey smelly water. Also the people around us were literally dumping diapers, trash and empty bottles in the water. Needless to say we left the next morning. Total waste of time an money. read more

It was our first time visiting and we genuinely have no complaints. We stayed in a park model in row D. It wasn't dust free but honestly cleaner than most hotels I've stayed in. The kitchen was perfect size. The bed was comfy..we took our own bedding. The launch ramp was easy to launch at. The Chanel was close by too. Check-in was easy and staff was kind. read more

I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about, but we found the place to have larger than average spots. Nice long beach with fire pits, great for gathering and walking. Nice friendly staff. I have been going to Lake Havasu for over 20 years. Never stayed at Crazy Horse. Tried it out in 2022 and it was okay. No big issues. Get what you see. People were nice. However, I booked a trip in Feb 2023 for a stay in June 2023. My son had a medical emergency and I couldn't go. The management will not refund any of my full amount and will only give me a credit until Feb 2024 to use. Well I don't have any trips where I would use it so now I'm just out my $540??!!
