Final pre-resolution update…read more I find it bizarre that an individual who was adamant that I not let Leslie's know that they had mistakenly given me a $200 part for free (I questioned the warranty transfer and while Leslie's said I was due the part Aaron explained at length why I wasn't but told me "don't sweat it, Leslie's is a big company,") alleges and infers I was out to take advantage of a small company. I have zero desire to take advantage of anyone, and I also have zero desire to let anyone take advantage of me. I do know that it is not uncommon for those guilty of something but not wanting to admit it to deflect and distract. And if one reads what I wrote vs. what Aaron did, along with some appalling grammar and spelling (including my name) there are a lot of personal attacks and unfounded accusations. All I will say at this juncture is that I repeatedly tried to resolve this amicably and reasonably, I was not ecstatic about the work, I hoped despite some hiccups that it was solid, a LOT of my own time has been wasted on this (which certainly feels like I was and am being taken advantage of, because I'm not ok with the current state of what's in my yard as a result of this "company," and I am 100% not ok with them sending someone I've never met to do work they don't guarantee, explain or support,) and at this point I wish I'd dealt with a bigger company in the first place. Note-I wouldn't have been at Leslie's in the first place hunting down the part if the tech from Cool Pool's had had the part he promised. And after a third trip to Leslie's by yours truly (and another conversation with them about the warrantied part bc I wanted to be sure the employee who supposedly mistakenly comped me the part didn't get in hot water bc it retails for $200) I really was at my wits end literally working for the pool company who was supposedly doing a job for me. We didn't notice the decline at first. Things were maintained to an acceptable level and the team (Amelia in particular) was super responsive. Then, things took a sharp turn for the worst. Our pool started showing signs of pool algae. I had to bring this to the attention of the owner and he confirmed they would shock the pool. Little details down to simply not skimming, leaving the waterfall on, in and out within 5-10 minutes and I had enough. Attached are images of how they left our pool. The owner was quick to point blame on us, while admitting that yes, indeed, they had changed technicians. Avoid this company and seek services elsewhere. We have different standards of service. Over several months, I closely monitored my pool's filter pressure and water quality. On multiple occasions, I had to notify the owner when the filter pressure became excessively high, resulting in cloudy water and reduced circulation. In one instance, I backwashed the filter myself after documenting a 25 PSI reading, reducing it to 15 PSI. On another occasion, I notified the owner that the pressure had reached 21 PSI, and he came out the following day to backwash the system. I also noticed instances where the filter pressures documented in the emailed service reports did not match what I found when I inspected the pool the following day. Those discrepancies prompted me to contact the owner to better understand why my observations differed from what had been reported in the service records. The final issue occurred after a service visit when the emailed report stated the backwash valve would not turn and recommended replacement. When I inspected the equipment later that day, I found the backwash handle detached from the valve housing and immediately sent the owner photos and messages asking about the discrepancy between the service report and what I found. I never received a response to those messages. When I called the following day to discuss the situation, the conversation ended with the owner discontinuing service. I understand that pool equipment can fail over time, and I wasn't expecting perfection. What disappointed me most was the lack of communication when I raised legitimate concerns backed by photos and observations. I was simply looking for an explanation of the discrepancies and an opportunity to resolve the issues professionally, but instead my concerns went unanswered and our service relationship ended.
