Stopped in for a late dinner on a Sunday night. they're open until 10, which is nice because a lot of similar restaurants in the area close at 8 or 9 on Sunday. The service was great - prompt and friendly. We ordered the chorizo queso to go with the house chips they brought out with our drinks. It was perfectly creamy and had plenty of chorizo. The chips weren't amazing, but they were definitely sturdy enough to hold up to the dip. I ordered the enchiladas supreme and they were pretty good. I felt like the chicken one was missing some flavor. The scoop of guac on top tasted fresh. They have a ton of tables downstairs and additional seating upstairs. I came here with my family. We got seated in the back room, which is very large and not as noisy as the rest of the restaurant. Which was good. We were all hungry when we got here, so with the chips and salsa. We also ordered queso and chunky guacamole. Dante and I got specialty Texas margaritas, which were excellent. When it came time to order, we were pretty full already. My husband ordered the shrimp fajitas (Veracruz) he loved it. If I were staying in town longer I'd come again. The cute part was we ordered club soda with lime. The poor waiter had no idea what that was and brought us plain water. We had to explain it to him. He went to the bar and brought us the correct drink. It is very noisy here. Food is ok. I've had worse and better Mexican . I will say they have the most creepy huge picture painted on the wall. It's like some old lady dressed up like a pirate or something. Never had a bad meal here. The margaritas are always great, perfectly balanced. I usually go for the timbo or choripollo burrito but tonight I had the birria tacos and they were incredible! Watch your credit card receipts!!! Waiter Francisco got a cash tip and then decided to add another $2.00 to my credit card. THIEF!!! He needs to be fired. The food and drinks were enjoyable but the waiter was absolutely horrible and spent more time chatting with his boyfriend at the cash register than doing his job. I had to flag down another waiter to get a 2nd drink, have the dishes cleared and after watching Francisco chat up the cashier for 15 minutes while we waited for the check, I had to get (who appeared to be) the head waiter to get my check. Francisco dropped off the check and disappeared again. After 10 minutes, I gave my card to another waiter and Francisco finally came back with my receipt that you see attached. I left a very small cash tip, signed the receipt and departed as we could not find the manager. Then I see get my credit card statement and I see that this POS has added $2.00. The -$2.00 charge is my back reversing the overcharge after I contested the charge. I wanted to reverse the entire bill in protest to get management to take notice of the theft by their employee but that would not be fair. Well Crazy Mexican management????? To begin with for such few customers the service was not great. We sat at the bar and our server, Jesus was inattentive and brought us some cold chips. He then proceeded to bring us the same chips that were warmed up and burnt. It's obvious there is no quality control in the kitchen or they don't care about food presentation. We are totally in love with this place! Let's start with the food, because that's really what it's all about, right? The flavors are fresh and balanced, and we've not had a meal there that we didn't enjoy. My favorite dishes are the seafood chimichangas, the chicken chimichangas, and the perfect carnitas (pictured). My daughter seems to like the chicken nuggets and fries from the kids' menu, though I'm not sure how she eats anything after eating her weight in chips when we sit down! The ambiance is fun and relaxing. It's a great place to unwind and laugh with your friends or family. On top of that, it is truly kid-friendly, and not in a "we tolerate your offspring because we want your dollars" kind of way. No. This place is truly cheerful with children. Staff who are not even working your table will give a friendly wave or stop to say hello to your child. I don't want to speak for all parents, but I love my daughter, and I think she's fabulous. Open for take out during COVID-19! We decided to support our local Mexican restaurant and boy were we glad we did. It was a nice break from cooking. We were even able to order MARGARITAS (Hello Mexican Monday!!!) The employee who brought us our order was so friendly. As we got home and checked out our order, we were pleasantly surprised that they even threw in an extra enchilada (that sure did make the hubs happy). We had top shelf margaritas on ice and they were very good. I ordered Churros but would have enjoyed them plain, too sweet and wet with whipped cream. I ordered the most expensive food item on the menu (can't remember the name), but it is a dish with steak chicken shrimp and cactus. Supposed to be served in a hot "lava" bowl. Was not hot at all. All the food was ice cold, like it just came out of a refrigerator. Obviously not prepared to order. Service was slow. When the waiter finally came back, I told him I was not eating or paying for it. I sort of expected the manager to come over and apologize, but it never happened. Go to Chico Fiesta instead. At least the food there is edible, and the service is much better. $2.50 for a soft drink and never refilled!!! Seriously!!! It costs about $.05 cents to pour a glass of soda, and you can't even offer a refill???? read more
