I guess I'm the unlucky one. I went to their Acton location for breakfast this morning. It took way to long to get my food. I ordered the pancakes with eggs and sausage. The pancakes were burnt, the sausage was way to greasy...The eggs, well, I didn't get to them I felt nauseous after trying to eat the other stuff. A complete waste of $25, well not a complete waste, the coffee was good. I live around the corner from there and I won't be back. read more

Ive been going here since i was a little girl and its one of the best restaurants in town i think. I personally love the way they cut their hashbrowns. I like the thick cut ones and they're always super crispy! My favorite dish there is the crazy otto burger meat omelette with Ortegas (half order) i usually get hash browns and biscuit and gravy with it! We are staying at a RV Park close by and friends had recommended Crazy Otto's. We arrived just before noon, and we were greeted promptly and took a booth. Our waitress was, in my opinion, the most attentive and professional wait staff, I have had in years. I had a breakfast and my wife got a chef salad. After years of great experiences, I've had a bad one. The service was still as good as usual, but today I had the breakfast special, which was their prime rib with eggs. Oddly the price wasn't special, it was the same as every day of the week. Then as it turns out the eggs, as over-medium turned out to be cold and severely undercooked. So undercooked the whites were as runny as water and too dangerous to eat. The prime rib was big and thick, however, undercooked, cold and so tough I couldn't cut it. Then for my wife, she got the corned beef and hash which was bland. The biscuit was well past its prime and hard enough to dent anything you threw it at. The coffee and sourdough toast was good. $50 was far too expensive for such an experience. read more

I would like to start by saying that they make excellent food... but the service... I ordered on a To Go order and they got it wrong.. NO STEAK??? They give me a plate full of bacon instead.... Nothing has changed in the last 10 years (last time I've been here), which is a good thing. The food is still great and they still have amazing service and gigantic portions. They have so many breakfast items to choose from it's honestly hard to decide what you really want to eat. They don't have just regular link sausages either, instead you get a full plate sized sausage patty! I was apart of a party of 4 and we all got our food super fast and the waitress made sure our coffees were full and checked up on us religiously. I think I need to make an effort to visit Crazy Ottos more often. read more

My family and came to have breakfast . We being here before and the food was delicious. But this time the food was to crispy . I ordered a French toast combo the French toast was burnt to crispy for my taste and my bacon I asked crispy but the bacon was over crispy. The hash were kind cold and crispy for my taste (burnt)I have gone to other crazy ottos es specially the one on Ave k in Lancaster the food is great there. I don't know if the cook was mad and not having a great day o watching the football game. The service was alright too. The portion sizes at Crazy Otto's Diner are definitely crazy and will certainly fill you up and still have food left to take home! We are giving it a 3-star review because service at times was slow. For example, after we were done with our meals, we wanted to ask for a cup of water but had to wait about 7-8 min before we could ask a waitress for it; the waitress ended up forgetting about the cup of water and had to ask a different waitress for the cup of water. We've been to Crazy Otto's Diner a few times over the past several months. Even though it is about a 45 minute drive from where we live, we have gone there for breakfast and planned other activities around that. We also met some friends of our who live in Palmdale there for breakfast. I have failed to break away from having the Chicken Fried Steak with gravy and eggs! It is just too damn good! The portions are HUGE! And the food is incredibly good! The pancakes and omelets are enormous. The food and the service is worth the drive. read more

We stopped by here for breakfast on the way to Mammoth. The portions are HUGE! Us girls each ordered our own plates and we took half of it to Mammoth with us for breakfast the next day! The food itself wasn't bad for what it was. My friend and I split the: - French toast w/ scrambled eggs and flour tortilla: We wanted the sweet and savory taste, so we went with the french toast. They give you the option of corn tortilla or flour tortilla. The french toast was good. Was soft, fluffy, and flavorful. We were able to finish this plate though! - Chorizo scrambled eggs and hash browns: The chorizos were so good! This meal was just so big and we had to pack majority of it togo. Very unclean, walls covered in food spatter as well as all the condiment jars on the table. We went on a Thursday at 7 am, they had only been open an hour, the filth appeared it has been accumulating for some time as it was a mix of different food spatters. See below picture of unclean sugar jar and wall picture covered in food spatter and milk dripping off in the lower corner. If this is how the dining room looks, I don't want to even know what uncleanliness is going on in the kitchen. My ham omelette was bland because they barely sautéed the ham or onions to add flavor and the egg was slight under cooked. My husband said the French toast was very dry and his over easy eggs were undercooked as well. This restaurant serves quantity and not quality. Definitely not the best customer service, I asked for a ranch to go with burger & fries that just cost $18.00 and one lady was grabbing the ranch for me and the other younger lady stated $1.08 I would just think as a courtesy it should be given. Don't know if it's the "rules." But the way I was treated, I hate to pull the race card but this is a restaurant for White People. Clearly by the way I was checked out up and down. We came for breakfast on a Sunday morning and although they were pretty much full, the hostess showed us to a nice booth. The servers were nice and pleasant and refilled our coffee cups frequently. We ordered the hamburger patty with eggs which came with hash browns and I chose the biscuit and gravy. It was a large serving and I needed a box to take half of my food home. The 2 biscuits were soft and tasty and altbough the gravy had coagulated, it was still flavorful. We also ordered a bowl of oatmeal which was delicious. The restrooms were clean and the parking lot had plenty of spaces. I highly recommend this Crazy Otto's in Acton. My friends and I went to Crazy Otto's this last Saturday. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries they ordered breakfast. My cheeseburger was served with a patty hanging 2 inches over the bun. It was fully cooked but not very good. The french fries were cold in the middle and awful. I tried my friends hash browns and it was the same thing. The next day I spent 6 hours in the bathroom. I don't know for sure if that was the cause but I am more than leaning towards it. Told the wait staff and cashier and was smiled away. I didn't expect a discount but felt we were not taken seriously. I will never go back to Crazy Otto's again. read more

Fast service from friendly staff and the food is great with very large portions. We had the Ortega Beef omelettes with hash browns and biscuits and gravy after an early morning visit to the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve on Easter morning. The beef was flavorful and the omelette very light yet high flavor. We wondered how they got the egg part so perfect - thin and perfectly folded, almost like a crepe so it highlighted but didn't bog down the contents. I nibbled the crunchy edges of my 2 biscuits dipped in gravy and took home half my omelette and a lot of hash browns. Those hash browns are in the freezer waiting to be crisped for multiple breakfasts! (I'm a believer in not wasting food.) But, we just had to devour the very tasty biscuits and gravy! Leftover gravy just doesn't travel that well, and, did we really have any if that deliciousness leftover? No! My husband raved about this breakfast for hours - this was his first time at Crazy Otto's. I had been once before with a large hiking group. We will be back to try more things on the menu! read more
