Friendly service, Fun atmosphere, Great Prices, and Great Trade In Value! Huge inventory! Tons of classic arcade games to play. They even have a old School tv hook up with a NES to play some Games. Manager even lets you play the games before you buy them! This place is fantastic!

This place is awesome. Everyone behind the counter is super friendly and helpful. They will make sure you get what you came in for compatibility-wise for your TV and gaming set-up. The prices are very reasonable and even better than eBay at times, but their service really adds value and puts them in rare company.

The coin-operated arcade games and pinball machines, with a few free options, were also a blast.

The NES glitched constantly, and the controller was so messed up that pressing B triggered pause. That's not "retro character," that's a broken controller. The N64 had loose internal parts rattling around inside the console the moment I picked it up. If this was "tested," I'd love to know how -- holding it near a crystal ball? And the wild part? They hit me with a restocking fee like I somehow inconvenienced them by bringing back the busted junk they sold me. A restocking fee... for retro hardware that was never working in the first place. It's like going to a mechanic, they hand you a car without an engine, and then charge you extra for parking it in their lot when you bring it back. Absolutely absurd. And on top of that, the game selection is awful -- shelves of the same common titles, beat-up carts, barely any quality or variety. Prices don't match condition. It's slim pickings, and you're paying premium for junk bin inventory. I returned everything the next day and still got hit with that 15% restocking fee. So I paid for broken hardware, and then I paid extra to give the broken hardware back. Incredible customer experience, truly. If you shop here, test every single item in front of them before walking out -- every button, every port, every cartridge -- because once you're outside, the problem is magically your fault. This was a complete waste of time and money. I won't be returning.

The discs I received had come with deep scratches, rendering them completely unplayable. Selling games in this condition demonstrates either a complete absence of quality control or a disregard for customers altogether. It is one thing to expect minor cosmetic wear on used discs, but it is another to receive items that clearly were never inspected and should never have been sold in the first place. A company dealing in video games has one basic responsibility: to ensure the product functions. Kill Screen Games failed at that most fundamental level. Until they establish real standards for product inspection and customer care, I cannot hand them a good review.

This was in Booton, NJ, on the way back to Syracuse, NY. The shop was a large room with tables for open gaming and tournaments, and the walls were lined with merchandise for sale--ranging from board games to trading cards. There was plenty of light, and the people playing Magic towards the back were very friendly and welcoming. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice! The coolest part is you can ask for the secret password, based on a quest posted outside the space down the road a little bit, and you can get into the Gaming Lounge addition. When you go in to the Gaming Lounge, it feels like you're stepping into some kind of hobbit hole, and the further back you go, the more space there is to play games with friends. There is even a fireplace! The space is super cozy and features a huge wall of games to play with friends. If I lived anywhere near by, I would go to this shop all the time! The cards they sold were even reasonably priced, so I also love that.

The shopkeeper listened intently while I told him what kind of gaming experience I was looking for. But it didn't go a lot farther than that. I wanted something narratively heavy, with less rule complexity and overhead than Lord of the Rings: Journeying through Middle Earth. He didn't really have an answer for me, and I felt I gave him a lot to work off of. To give you an idea how small this place is - the pictures in this review represent half the games in the store. There's one extra bookshelf that I didn't catch and there's a display case in front with CCG cards. Shopping experience aside, you can tell this place has a good community. There were four tables occupied in the back around 4 PM on a Saturday - maybe representing 10 people - and there's a big communal shelf you can draw from if you want to play in house. I'd come back to play and make new friends.
