Well...I didn't think that spending hours in the barbershop would ever change, but certain establishments make it worth your time! My friend let me know he takes his sons here and they all get the full experience: hair wash and hair cut. You have to try everything once, right? Ms Cassie is a great hair stylist. I have had the pleasure of trying the invisable part installation for a summer do. I am a very difficult customer. I dont try to be. I do not complain but once completed i think my face says it all and I just look mirror and say it's alright and never return. Cassie took her time and made sure I was happy. I even went home that day because i noticed something and she came right over to fix it . What a hairstylist. I did get hair.was in between and she refreshed the front, how cool and refreshed it looks. She gives a great wash. I returned 3 months later and tried the invisable part installation again and I still was nervous because sometimes hairstylist can't repeat what they did the first time. But, you can kind of understand they see alot of people. Ms, Cassie did the hair even better. The thing I like about her she doesn't want you to leave her chair unhappy. Note: the hairstylist who worked there have her to do their hair sometimes but I think they all just hook each other up. Let me preface my comments by stating I do not wish to malign the professionalism or integrity of the other stylist withing this establishment, but RON BEY is the most UNPROFESSIONAL business operator I've ever dealt with. I showed up for a $10 Tuesday cut around 1:46pm. At 146pm I would expect ones business to open and it's barber to be ready to conduct business, whatever ones business is. The establishment was closed, Ron Bey was not there. I called him, he said he would be there in 5min...to his credit he was, but it is there that he ceased to be business-like. Upon his arrival he immediately gets into a spat with some random stranger conducting his own hustle with someone else...in other words a feud that was ENTIRELY non of his business. After subjecting me to his views of the ethical business shortcomings of this stranger, he finally open the business. I sit for a few minutes while he gets himself settled in, then he tells me to have a seat in the barbers chair, then without a word he dashes out the door to engage, presumably a known person outside, in conversation. AGAIN I SAY HE JUST LEAVES. Keep in mind this is the same person who just 10min earlier went off into this tirade about the poor business dealings of some cat on the street. This is the 2nd time i've dealt with this dudes deplorable business dealings. Oddly enough he's a decent barber, but he's got no sense of how to deal with clients. HE NOT WORTH THE DRAMA!!! My advice to would-be patrons would be to patronize Hair Architects on La Tijera. read more

Save your money & don't walk through their doors. I paid 165 for Twist from 'stylist' Desiree Bailey, & she did a horrible f**king job. I look like a horse with all this wooly a** hair on my head that's too thick, dry, & absolutely too much hair. I asked her if they were going to be too thick & if I didn't want them to look too thick then what hair should I use in the place of the Cuban Afro Kinky hair, which she replied she usually doesn't do it with braiding hair because it slips too much (that should've been a red flag that she didn't really know what she was doing). She took almost 3 hours on this f**ked up hairstyle only for me to look like Whoopie. I paid her 165 & it was 50 dollars for the hair so imagine how pissed off I am having to take this ugly sh*t down costing me over 200 dollars. I HAD to go to a Bachelorette party that day so I was STUCK with this catastrophe & looking like a Poodle with twist. And on top of being insulted by a subpar stylist for even thinking this is okay, she then added insult to injury when she f**king laid my hair down with ECO STYLER. Yes b***h, ECO-STYLER. What stylist y'all know that does that? I've never seen a stylist put eco-styler on the roots (YES, ON MY SCALP) of a black person hair let alone to lay our hair down for a style outside of natural styles because it's basically water based & will cause the hair to revert to it's natural form. So if your hair is over a certain texture I could only imagine how it would look if she were to do this. The Twist at the roots & all around the perimeter of my hair has white flakes & every competent adult/stylist would know that, that's what GEL does. Save your money on anybody in there & I truly think I was bamboozled through pictures because she couldn't have done the hair styles I seen on her Instagram. And it's hot af on top of all that unprofessionalism. Issa NO. I'm really trying to save y'all money. She will NEVER get another dime from me, so I hope she ate good off of that 165. I had my hair cut by Mr. Ron Bey a few months ago. A very nice cut, no complaints at all. In addition to being a true hair artist, Ron is a very engaging guy. Very good and interesting conversation. As such, I've been so wanting to give his business a great review. I've even recommended him to several friends and pimped his business hard on other social media sites such as Nextdoor. But my last haircut was a few months ago. I've been back several times in the past month to try to get a haircut, all unsuccessful. Why? The place is always closed, during normal work hours. Never a sign up or even a note saying "I'll be back at such and such time". My friends have experienced the same thing. It appears that Ron the artiste doesn't take his business as seriously as a business should be. After no less than 4 trips to this place just to find it closed, I've had to write it off and sadly find a new hair stylist. read more
