I specifically extended my layover in LA to be able to visit Tiffany at her new salon! My hair had reached new nappy lengths and...a level of crunchiness. Since I have limited imagination when it comes to style, Tiffany showed me several cut/color options AS WELL AS remaining within my level of daily maintenance (my laziness is very important to me). Decided on bayalage between darker and beige highlights. Also impulsively stated that I wanted to chop off my hair to below my ears.... she promised the dead ends would go but suggested keeping my hair long (she knew I'd cry if I actually cut it short..) Tiffany really takes her time to get to know her clients and individualizes everything to fit our preferences, while also keeping in mind the long game (deciding on a treatment that will do the least amount of damage to each person's hair and styling the hair so we can remain dignified in between cuts). I've uh, "colored" my own hair before and know how important it is to understand what it can and canNOT handle...sigh. Luckily I have a pro to help me now :) When you park in the garage, make sure to exit to the retail space on the 5th floor at the top of the escalator bank. I was recommended by a friend to check out Studio Tilee. I have heard through several friends that Tiffany does amazing work. I did my homework before I made the appointment. I checked out her YouTube channel, blog & social links and realized she is definitely a beauty expert! I made the trek from Orange County to her space inside Salon Republic. Studio Tilee was clean and modern. I got a haircut and balayage highlights. The products she used on my hair were fantastic. My hair felt really soft and shiny. I was referred to Tiffany by a friend and she did my hair and make up for my engagement pictures, bridal shower, and my wedding. Each time she did my hair and make up, it got better and better. She really listens to what you want and she is so attentive. Not only is she an amazingly talented, she has the best personality! I'm a professional stand-up comedian, and it's important for me to look good on stage. And for the longest time, I was going to places like Floyd's to get a cool, men's cut. You know, because it looks like a place where one could get a cool, men's cut, with the rock posters on the wall and the hairstylists looking like Green Day. But I was always disappointed. The haircuts were always inconsistent as well as the talent and skills of their hairstylists. I had to look elsewhere. Thank goodness I found Tiffany. I first started getting my hair cut and done by Tiffany in 2008 when I discovered her small studio in Austin. I used to go to big-name/mall salons, but after discovering Studio Tilee, I will never go back to that. I am not one who really "knows" and can command what I want when it comes to my hair. When I first had a haircut with Tiffany, I described a trendy look with Asian women at the time, and decribed what I liked and didn't like about my own hair, and the result was exactly what I envisioned. Today, I almost solely browse her Instagram page for hair inspiration and keeping up with trends. Over time, Tiffany became my go-to person for all my hair transformations. Over the years, I have gone to Tiffany for: - going from long, mid-back length hair to a chin length bob - my first set of highlights and all coloring from then on - getting blunt bangs - getting a body wave - getting balayage highlights - getting my hair and makeup done for 3 weddings (including my own!) I fully trust Tiffany and the team she has built (of Studio Tilee in Austin) for all my beauty needs. Tiffany has many times interpretted what I want and turned it into reality without much direction or guidance from me. She keeps up with current and upcoming trends, and her work is fresh. In addition, she is honest and has also been truthful when what I think I want may be a challenge for my hairtype, and she sets my expectations. My hair is stick-straight and I tend not to want to spend more than 10 minutes a day on it. My unruly curly hair has been unevenly cut in the past but Tiffany not only taught me to embrace my curls but knows how to expertly cut and control them. I've never been this satisfied with my hair! I recently went from having long dark brown hair to a blonde balayage ombré bob all with Tiffany's help. She is truly a master at what she does and I can't recommend her enough. Even with a 3 month old baby I made a 2 hour drive from my home to get an appointment with her at the Hermosa Beach location and it's so worth it.
