I have always hated going to the dentist, out of fear. I have a terrible gag reflex, and every experience I had previously, was not good. I called Creating Smiles Dentistry after being told by another dentist office that I had to have EIGHT TEETH pulled. You heard me, EIGHT. Including my wisdom teeth, TWELVE. I wanted a second opinion. They agreed that that sounded extreme and got me in very quickly. I was very apprehensive, and explained to them over the phone how worried I was about my gag reflex and if I'd even be able to follow through with the work that needed to be done. They re-assured me that they would do everything they could to work with me, and let me tell you, they sure did. I arrived for my first appointment, nervous and shaking. As soon as you walk in, they offer you bottled water, and ask if you need anything. Wow, how sweet! I then was called back into a pristine clean room where I met Dr. Phane and her team. From there, it's all history. They have many ways to help you, if you are like me and have a horrible gag reflex. They are patient, caring, kind, attentive, and genuine. This is a very family-oriented dental team, who cares about all of their patients more than I've ever seen before. Or even heard of. They would give me salt to help with the gag reflex, and do my X-Rays and impressions so fast that I didn't even realize they were done! It was so easy! And Creating Smiles Dentistry made this happen and exceeded my expectations. My eyes are full of tears as I write this long awaited review. As you read this review, please keep in mind, that I did get veneers, but the dental care here that I received prior to, and after, is out of this world. If you're looking for a caring community dentist, this is the place for you. If you're looking to get your teeth cleaned, this is the place for you. Whatever you are looking for, I have no doubt that Creating Smiles Dentistry will be your last stop for looking, and you will find whatever you need, want, or could imagine, done here. I explained my concerns, wishes, and needs to Dr. Phane, who quickly created an entire plan for my ENTIRE mouth. Starting out, filling cavities, root canals if needed, all that "fun" stuff. Then, we got to the exciting part. She constructed a 3D Model, including gum re-construction, of what she had planned. When I saw it, I cried. I never thought I would have straight, beautiful teeth, and seeing her holding this beautiful 3D Model of what her plan was for me, was absolutely mind-blowing. I had what some would call a "snaggle tooth" that stuck way out, and I wanted it gone. She explained the importance of having that canine tooth, and why she did not want to pull it. Instead, she wanted to reconstruct it! And that's exactly what she did. I was very eager to get started with veneers, but she also explained the importance of having all of my teeth that needed to be filled, or crowned, or what not done first, otherwise, veneers would just be a mask, but not a solution to my dental problems at that time. Fast forward 3 months. Here I am, 3 months later, with tears streaming as I write this out of love, gratitude, shock, and utter amazement with a beautiful, pearly white straight-toothed smile. Dr. Phane along with Nam (The Porcelain Veneer Lab Genie), made the impossible, POSSIBLE. They gave me confidence that I never had. I would never smile in photos, or I'd cover up my mouth. I'd even cover it if I laughed. And now, I want the world to see my teeth! I want the world to see me smile, to see me laugh, and I can do that without feeling insecure. These people, EVERYONE, at Creating Smiles Dentistry care. You aren't "just another patient" to them. They take the time you need, make accommodations for you, reschedule you if you cannot come in, and work with you in full. They make sure that you're comfort level, and what you are looking for, is taken care of with ease and patience. They really do care. More than any dentist office I have ever walked into. Unfortunately, the practice is not reliable any longer. The dentist has a newer location in Palm Harbor along with the original St. Pete office, and she spreads herself thin and is just not available in a timely manner. I had to wait over a month for an appointment. I had an issue with a tooth that was bothering me, and I made it known when trying to make my appointment, but nothing was available sooner. When I arrived for the appointment, the office was crowded with customers and chaotic. She did an exam and rattled off her findings to her assistant, but did not discuss them with me. I was presented at the front desk with a treatment plan that had nothing to do with the tooth that is bothering me and a bill, and coaching to set up additional appointments for some fillings on some teeth she had filled previously. These fillings did not take or last, and now I will have them done again and pay again. Can't believe I was so foolish to wait over a month. Lesson learned. Do I recommend Dr. Brayer? No. read more

I am so very disappointed. My appointment, booked about 3 or 4 months ago, was for 10:00 a.m. so I arrived early. There was another woman there waiting for a cleaning also but she and two others who arrived after us were called in first. After waiting for 20 minutes after my appointment time, I decided to leave. I don't know if the problem is over-scheduling or inefficiency but it is unsatisfactory. Management needs to address this problem. This was not my first issue here. One time the hygienist told me that I wasn't brushing good enough in a certain spot. I asked her where but she wouldn't tell me. I am a senior and I resent being treated like a child. I will look for another dental clinic where I am treated respectfully. read more

I had a dental emergency. Had allergic reaction lips and gums swollen Found them on google and called. They said come right away. The front office staff very helpful and nice. Seen Dr Phen right away and diagnosed. Problem solved based on her advice quickly. Then, couple days later, got a phone call from Dr Phen following up to make sure i was ok. I truly hate leaving bad reviews and especially ones that started as a positive experience. I went to Creating Smiles a little over a year ago and had them replace the sealants on my teeth that had worn away. Keep in mind, my first set of sealants lasted almost 15 years and prevented me from having any cavities during that time. Since my visit to Creating Smiles, I recently had a cleaning and the sealants they put on didn't even last a year and I got 2 cavities because of it. Not sure what crap material they used but most sealants can last up to 10 years. I spent a lot of money at this facility and their work did not hold up. I recommend finding a dentist that uses better quality materials and warranties their work. read more

They are money hungry. They find things just to bill you. They harrass you with emails, texts, and calls for appointments like stockers. Nice denists but insensitive front desk staff. All about the money $$$. They do s good job but Im sure I can find a denist just as good but not crooked and annoying. read more

Money, money, money money!!! That is all they care about! I went in for exam and cleaning. First visit.... They didn't do a cleaning because I had cavities (they found on xray that I never saw) and said I needed crowns. So you won't do a cleaning? They tried to nickel and dime every little thing and then make another appointment for cavities THEN another for cleaning. Forget it! I went to another Dentist and they said I had one out of 4 cavities they claimed, and I didn't need a single crown at all. New Dentist showed me the xrays.. I never even saw the Dr I was scheduled to see. Go somewhere else. This place is a rip off and will just have you coming back!!! read more

I came to Dr. Brayer traumatized from my last dentist. Dr. Brayer was kind, professional and thorough. During a procedure she constantly asks how I am doing and if I need a break. I LOVE this team! I have had dental anxiety for years (some due to bad experiences, and some "just because"). Ever since I have been going to Creating Smiles Dental, my anxiety has decreased tremendously! I appreciate the care, concern, and comfort provided in addition to the quality of services, (especially the blankets and musical connection while services are provided). I would strongly recommend not using this dentist. They tried to rip off my 94 year old mother in law. They sold her a $170 bluetooth toothbrush. Can you imagine a bluetooth toothbrush for a 94 year old? Then when I tried to return it (unopened), they wouldn't take it back. And now I received a response from owner that says they do take returns. Somebody needs to tell the receptionist cause she told me I would have to contact Philips. After many calls and jumping through hoops, they issued a credit minus the shipping charge. Avoid this place cause now i'm being lied to. read more

This is the worst dentist experience I have ever had. When I went there, they had just purchased an equipment that scans teeth to digitally mold them for crowns. Obviously they wanted to use the equipment as soon as possible so they decided to use it on me. The woman doctor prepped my tooth for a crown, but when she was doing that, she kept talking to one of the assistants about something else and carelessly overground my tooth. After that was done, the assistant tried using the equipment to scan my tooth. Obviously she did not have enough experience with equipment and was having hard time scanning my tooth. Finally she gave up and walked out on me without saying anything to me,leaving me in the chair so uncomfortably with my mouth wide open filled with cotton and my sliver. The woman doctor came in and took over the scanning. They had to do the conventional way of molding the tooth by covering my tooth with the clay like substance incase the scanning wouldn't show up correctly. They put a temporary crown which later kept giving me pain. Another assistant did this but she was phone messaging with her friend while doing this because the doctor was not in the room. This whole process took almost 5 hours. I had to go back to have the temporary crown readjusted because the pain didn't allow me to bite on anything, The readjusting didn't make the pain go away. A few weeks later I got a new crown placed, but because the doctor overground my tooth, the nerve was exposed too close to the surface of the tooth and every time I try to bite something on that crown, I get a sharp pain and cannot bite anything down. I decided not to go back to this dentist because of their unprofessional manners and wanted to cancel my other appointment for teeth cleaning. Another young girl called me to discuss my appointment but I didn't want to go back so I insisted on cancelling the appointment. The girl simply hung up on me. What are they doing there??? 2 years after my last visit to this dentist's I received a bill for $10 which did not explain anything what the bill was about. It just said "balance forward." I always paid everything in full and I also used my dental insurance, so what was the balance about??? This must be illegal. read more

Avoid this dentist like the plague! I went in for a check up and cleaning and was given an estimate of more than $20,000 dollars! The dentist told me to think of it as an investment, like a new car. They told me I needed a crown, nine root canals and fillings in almost all my teeth. They sold this to me with the sweetest of smile.I always took good care of my teeth and I knew they were not being honest. When I tried slowly backing out of the place, and I needed to talk to my husband about it, they told me not to worry, they would do it. I told them he had the kids with him, they said the kids can wait in another room. They told me they could finance the treatment there, after I told them we would be paying out of pocket, then, they proceeded to ask what my husbands credit score was. I felt like I was trapped in a lions den and wanted at this point just to escape. The tried to make me fear that I was going to end losing all my teeth. "You don't want dentures, do you?" They didn't even give me the cleaning I came in for and charged me almost $200 for the X rays and scare tactics. After I left, they were super pushy, stalking me by email and phone and also stalked my husbands phone!!! I ended up going to get a second opinion with Dr. Spilman on 5th Ave, didn't tell him about the nightmare I experienced here, and after his Xray and exam, he told me I only needed a cleaning and three fillings. That gave me the confirmation I needed that the people at Creating Smiles were the scam artist crooks that I suspected they were. Don't waste your time or your money here or let them submit the treatments they say you need but actually don't. read more

this is bait and switch dentistry. they offer promotions to get you in. they offer you discounts if you pay for services in advance. they give you products at the end of your visit. problem is, when you are about to leave the promotions have not been honored, they have been charged. the discounts that you have not taken because the total amount is so huge that you would be indebted to this faux-practice longer than your teeth will exist, is listed on the invoice for a lot less than they told you, you would be saving. and wow, the toothbrush in the plastic bag is free, but the products that are also in there, that "you must have" are charged to you at ridiculous prices even though you thought they were give-aways. my husband checked the dental products in the bag against amazons prices and they were double. and i thought that it was included because they never mentioned anything. the husband was furious with me. and besides, cleaning your teeth for a half hour costs the same as a pair of shoes retail. read more
