This store saved me! I was put up to a last minute mission for a cake and the stuff I ordered from Amazon did not get delivered overnight so of course it was the day of the event and I started freaking out til I decided to look this place up and realized all this time that I've been driving past this place, it was a cake supplies store! I've always thought it was a bakery but I was wrong! They carry DecoPac stuff and have majority of the popular theme's decorations available and luckily I was able to find what I needed for my cake. My sister and I were making the cake for my nephew's wedding in Fresno. Since we live in Sacramento, transporting the cakes and all the necessary supplies for putting it together was not only stressful, but a huge responsibility! We seemed to have everything well organized in a chaotic way, but then the subject came up at how we would stack the heavy cakes on top of each other without doing it damage. My thought was that maybe we could look for some large heavy duty cake spatulas that would make it easier for us to slide and stack the layers on top of each tier. After checking our Yelp app, we happily discovered that a cake supply store was located very close to our hotel. We also thought that we should get some more buttercream frosting in case we had to do damage control on the cake. Upon entering the store, we received friendly greetings right away with an offer of help if we needed it. This place is pretty nice inside, and had a large inventory of cake and baking supplies for all occasions. It was fun browsing the aisles, getting old and new decorating ideas. Prices are average to what I have seen elsewhere. They did not carry the large spatulas we were looking for, so we looked for a plan B. After studying several different cake plate ideas that might help out our concerns, the atmosphere seemed not as friendly as before. The employees seemed a little condescending with our questions and when my sister asked if we could borrow their tape measure, we had to take and measure the item at the register counter in front of them, I guess because they were afraid we might pocket the tape measure! The store got a little busier while we were there, so the initial friendliness we first experienced faded more into a forced politeness. I thought it was me, and shrugged it off, but my sister and boyfriend also noticed the shift in vibrations from the staff. We pretty much kept to ourselves while shopping and didn't think we did anything to cause annoyance. Oh well, we won't be back any time soon to worry about it! read more

I've been to this store a quite a few times as it's the only store I know that has a variety of the stuff I need to bake. Every time I have visited this store, no one greets me. I am left wandering the store by myself because the employees are using the phone or hanging out by checkout. As I was waiting to be checked out, keep in mind I'm the only one in the store and no one is in line. The employee at the register just stares at me and after a few min asks "are you ready". There is no "hi, how are you" or "did you find everything okay" , just silence. I love the store and their huge selection, but I do believe their employees can have better customer service. read more

This place is awesome. I needed some cupcake supplies for a work baby shower and reached out to a friend who is a baker for advice on where to get the supplies, and she recommended this place. The moment I walked in I was greeted by an associate and asked if she could direct me to the right section. I wish I got her name but she was a younger woman with brunette hair. She was awesome and so informative. She knew the answer to every question I had and was very knowledgeable. She seemed happy to help and really left me feeling confident with the items I chose (with her help). The store has a variety of options for all baking needs and is very clean, well-organized, and the prices are very reasonable. I wish they had a lot more options for cupcake tins but I was also being very picky with those lol. All in all, I would highly recommend coming here for your baking needs. read more

I have a love hate relationship with this store. I'm so glad there is a store like this in my area. Lots of cool baking/decorating supplies. Nice not having to order everything I need online and shop in person. Very clean and organized. Cute displays. Most employees greet me and ask if I need help. Honestly though I would shop somewhere else if there were other stores around like this. Hate that they are closed on Sunday and Monday. Very inconvenient. One employee in particular acts like he is doing me a favor ringing up my purchases and taking my money. Feels very snooty. Maybe this person doesn't intend to or is not aware he comes off this way? There's this thing on your face called a mouth and you can use it to smile. My job is extremely customer service related and I would never treat my clients this way. read more

Love creative cakes! Always great customer service! They always have what I need. It's great that I don't have to order online if I need an item quickly! Yes it's pricy but it's the only real cake supply store in town aside from the little baking sections at Joanne's, Hobby Lobby, Sur La Table, Williams Sonoma and Michaels. Out of all those stores, there's still a ton of supplies you can not find in those stores but you can certainly find at creative cakes! I don't mind spending the extra money on things I really need in a hurry or things that I can't find elsewhere. Oh and I've taken a few classes here and they've all helped me tremendously! read more

There was a class going on but I was still greeted warmly. Within a few minutes one of the girls came up to see if I needed help and was very helpful. She then stepped away to work with someone else. When I was ready to check out I just found one of them and they were happy to come ring me up. They even noticed that I had picked the wrong food coloring and were able to give me a better option. Customer service was horrible..I was there for over 30 minutes and no one came up to me and asked if I needed help with anything...and then when I was ready with my purchase it took them over 10 minutes to acknowledge me and come to the register...if I wasn't in desperate need for my pie boxes I would have left...however I will not. This is THE spot in town for all decorators! The girls are so helpful and they have everything you could ever need for cake, cupcake, candy and cookie decorating. I was happy to find edible glitter and isomalt here so that I don't have to order it on-line. I have even sent my husband to pick-up boxes and rounds for me and the girls gave him exactly what I needed. Super love this place. You can find anything at all you may need. If you are just a hobby baker, or run a small business, this place NEEDS to be on your radar. Lots of specialty items and hand made items, if like me, you can't make a fondant bow to save your life. They offer classes as well. The only reason it's not a 5 star is because I had a question on if they were getting a certain type of shape cutter. They took my number and said they would let me know when it came in. They never called and in a subsequent trip I found they did have the cutter in stock. So that was kinda sad. But other than that, it really is a shop that loves their customers and loves the art of baking, pastry and other delightful confections. read more

A friend recommended that I come to this store to find what I was looking for. I walked in the door not sure where anything was located (I must have had the lost look) a lady asked if I needed help finding something and I told her what I was looking for. She appeared to be bothered with my intrusion and made me feel incompetent. I grabbed what I thought I needed and left as soon as possible. I forgot to get a couple things because I just wanted out of there. The cashier was friendly though. After speaking with a couple people who have also been there I found out it was the owner that was rude and seemed to be put out (they had the same experience). Why would you own a business if you do not plan on treating your customers as if they were important and welcome? Although they are convenient I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I went to this place because we got a groupon for a cupcake decorations class. The girl that helped us in the beginning was really nice but it was the owner who made this class miserable for me. She commented on how my hands shook when I was tryin to put the frosting flower on my cupcakes and asked me why I couldn't stay still. Little did she know I have a health condition that causes my hands to shake. I was so embarrassed she also told me that she could believe how much of a mess I was making and asked if my house was dirty because she said I was messy. It's a miracle I even finished the class I was so mad. I will never recommend or go to this place again. I felt so disrespected and bad at the end of the class. Hopefully she doesn't own this business anymore so they don't loose anymore business. read more
