They came in, honed/ polished to a high matte finish, sealed cracks and sealed the surface. Limestone is porus and subject to etching from acid foods (lemons!) so a high polish would not last long term. The counters look like new with a very, very even finish. They took care to drape off all my appliances and cabinets, polished for about 5 hours, then cleaned up well. Polishing is wet, messy process but they know what they are doing and didn't leave a mess at all. Super happy with the response and service.

Everything was great. Well, he totally flaked and was a no show. I did call to try to confirm the appointment and it was sent directly to voicemail--just so not cool. My advice to the Grout Geek: if you don't want to take on a job for whatever reason, have the common decency to let the customer know so they don't sit around waiting for your arrival.

Expect to pay more than you are quoted. Items that appear to be covered in the quote may not be. In the final hours, after the floors were sanded and we were lined up to be out of the house for a week, they said he had to charge extra for water-based finish, but wouldn't even tell us how much. It took him 4 days to come up with a quote while his worker kept asking for an answer so he could move forward. There was a lot of pressure to okay the expenditure before getting a quote, which is a ridiculous way for a contractor to operate. His quote ended up being and extra 10% ($800 in our case) for something that appeared to be covered in the original contract. Note baseboard removal is not included in his quotes, so know you will need to pay more if you want that. 2. Expect to deal with a mess when you get home. We put all of our furniture and belongings in our kitchen, which was supposed to be protected by having the passage taped off with plastic. When we got home the kitchen was covered in dust, and we had to wipe or wash it off of everything we own - every single book, every single toy, everything. The kitchen sink has a layer of dried-up floor finish that we still have not managed to get off. 3. Expect the work to happen on his timeline instead of the agreed timeline. We agreed to have the repair work done while we were home, and the sanding and finishing work after we were out of the house, but one day they showed up and started sanding while we were still living there - 4 days prior to the agreed date. We hadn't yet moved our belongings out of the upstairs rooms, so the whole thing ended up being stressful chaos as we tried to move furniture out around their equipment and through taped up doorways. At one point they came unexpectedly when our kids were home, so we were also desperately trying to keep them away from the saws and other hazards as we moved furniture. There appears to be very little communication between the owner and his worker, and the owner appears to charge forward with what is most economical for him with no regard for the impact in your home. In summary, the work looks good, but I would not recommend this company.

No worries, that's reasonable. Heck, it can be any day, just do what you promise. Monday nothing. Tuesday nothing. Call Wednesday. Says I'm really busy, No apology until I call them out on what they promised. I didn't set the expectation, they did. I tell them, if we don't even have a contract and you're being like this, what am I to expect? Next day, I get a text about the room to be done, is it upstairs or downstairs, and the bathroom, is it being done? I'm totally confused, we never spoke about a bathroom and the room is upstairs. I get the quote finally. It's ~$30k more than another quote I got from a 5 star Yelp business. WTH. Looking deeper into the quote, it's talking about terracota tile and grout...we never spoke about that, we spoke what I already have downstairs, which is laminate. They even stated, that's a manufactured piece we can't get anymore but we can get something close to match. Don't always believe Yelp reviews, but I'd believe this one.
