I really want to give a 3.5 but that's not a yelp option. I purchased a Groupon for a haircut and dye job. My hair is naturally black and straight. I came in and asked for the darkest black dye they had. Everything was great but the dye only lasted a few weeks. I came in on March 29 and the dye is pretty much gone by May 2 ( the dye had faded out of my hair for at least 2 weeks but I only decided to call today) . Again, my hair is black and I don't swim anymore. I only wash my hair every 2-3 days and use Joico shampoo/conditioner. Honestly, I've had boxed dye last much longer. I called and asked if he could do anything and the best he could do is offer a discount for another dye session. Personally, I don't want to pay more money for a dye job that lasts about 3 weeks when a box of hair dye costs $10 and lasts months. I've never had issues with dying my hair black until now. I'd recommend him for haircuts but not so much for hair dye. The picture shows how my hair looks brown. I gave him another chance and I loved the cut BUT had appointment today and he didn't show or call me. Drove to his new place and nothing. Not happy. Get it together. I'll find someone trustworthy. I purchased a Groupon from Saman. At first I could not get in contact. Then he was over an hour late to our appointment, causing me to leave the haircut before it was done and still I was late for my meeting. He gave me crazy layers when i asked for no layers at all. I also paid for a cut and color and he tried to charge me extra for a women's cut even though my hair is above my shoulders, and even though i asked for purple and my hair turned out burgundy red. After he messed up I had to reach out multiple times to make the appointment to fix that he promised. He changed the time to 5p the day of when i asked to confirm, and then changed the time back to our original 4:30. I am now at the salon and he hasn't even dried his prior clients hair, so I am once again waiting on him. When I asked why he changed our time back to 4:30, he turned to the other client and said, "this is why I'm going to stop taking Groupon people, they're the worst." He is the one who messed up and was late and is now making me wait again but I am the worst???? UPDATE: I waited longer than he spent on my hair. Pretty sure he made it worse on purpose. read more

Saman is a magician. I took my friend in to Creative Edge to get his hair color corrected. My friend's hair was half natural black and half bleach blond. The goal was a medium brown with a slight reddish touch. Frankly I did not have high hopes for the results because of the great difference in the existing colors and the rather poor condition of the hair. I was amazed at the results. Perfect color, even with the slight red highlights when the light hit the hair just so. A slight trim got rid of the split ends and gave it shape. My buddy looked so much better than when he walked in. And his hair looked so smooth too. Saman got it all done in about 1.5 hours. Couldn't beat the price too. Saman is definitely the guy to go to for color work. Highest recommendation. read more

Loved my haircut! I've been bouncing around from stylist to stylist since I've never really found the best combination of cut, price, location, and character... until today! The salon is now located on Morena (NOT on Denver street as Google states) UPSTAIRS above Golden Touch Salon. There is parking on the street and behind the building. The salon is pretty masculine, which I like--more of a barber feel than a "girly" salon. Saman was the only one working today, so he changed the music to whatever I wanted to listen to. He offered me a water as I sat down, but there is also beer or wine for those who prefer a little drink. Most places charge me extra because of how much hair I have, but it was super reasonable with Saman. I did not do highlights today, but apparently coloring and super curly hair is his jam. I have heavy, straight kinda frizzy hair, and it came out looking sleek and nice. I will definitely be back. read more

Super impressed by this place, which I found by accident. Since I'm new to San Diego, I happened to make a wrong turn and saw their sign. And while I didn't get my haircut from Saman (who seems to be loved by everyone on here), I instead got mine from Kado on his second day! Yo! I've lived in New York and L.A. and gotten haircuts in Europe. I put this haircut up there with the best I've ever had. The care and detail was as pro as it gets. They put on some tunes for me and offered me a beer. What better way to spend part of my afternoon than with cool San Diegans that made me look like a million bucks? This place is amazing! Walked into Creative Edge for the first time today and was seated immediately after a warm welcome. I told Kado that I wanted to get a basic trim of the hair style I walked in with. I'm always the worst when it comes to describing what I want done to my hair, but he understood immediately and went to work after he offered me a drink. Not only was the vibe of the barbershop/salon laid back and comfortable, but Kado easy to talk to. The haircut turned out amazing was exactly what I had in mind. Usually I return home to find little bits here and there that I don't like in the mirror, but today with Kado it was perfection throughout. It has been YEARS since I've had this great of a haircut. Not only that, but this place is very affordable at $15 (same price as great clips) and the service was impeccable. I would highly recommend this place place!
