Best bikini wax around!! I've seen Rebecca twice now and she's such a pro. The sugaring hurts a lot less than typical waxing and I am hairless. Totally. And the best part is, I normally get tons of red bumps that last for usually 10 days after waxing. When you walk into the salon, it's aesthetically pleasing to the eye and it smells good. Megan was my sugarista and did an amazing job with no judgement. She explained how to do post sugaring care and discussed products without pushing them like some places. Fresh out of a session with Raquel, I first off want to say how much I appreciate that they were able to squeeze me in on such short notice, I believe Raquel maneuvered her schedule to get me in on a special day for me. The worst and best experience of my life.. sadly. After swearing, negotiation to stop, tears, hyperventilating, sweating like a mofo, and then finally accepting that this was my faith- I was a sexy hairless goddess. I have been sugared plenty of times but i was looking for a new place to get my brazillian in San Diego. I made a last minute appointment with Ariel and she was really nice, personable, and super friendly. She was also pretty fast, when i thought we were halfway done, we were actually completely done. Also when i inspected myself in the mirror later i didnt see any stray or missed hairs. There is also a parking lot which I appreciated too. my only gripe with the place/services is that they didnt have me fill out any type of consultation form or paperwork which was a bit suspicious and they didnt "prep" my skin with any powder or toner to kinda clean the area (not just shower beforehand) and i think that had to do with why i had so much irritation for a long time afterwards. Also found it a bit strange that they don't clean the sugar off themselves, that they had me do it myself with a warm towel when i can't really see where there is sugar remaining, felt like i wasn't cleaning anything off efficiently. read more

Who doesn't love a smooth cooch a magooch?! No shame, I DO, I DO!! Upon my return from Texas, I was on a mission to find a sugar waxer that could take care of the ladyscaping that my lady bits were in dire need of. After some research, I came upon Swanky Sugar. I called and left a message with Rebecca asking for an appointment. Rebecca got back to me promptly via text (hello, easy!) I was all set for the following week. The salon is located in a small L-Shape strip mall, neighbors include some knick knack shop, and an auto shop. BTW, these auto shop guys are super awesome in letting you use their parking spaces. But, you must ask their permission. Don't be a rude human, and just assume you can park. Don't ruin it for the rest of us with manners. You hear me, ladies? (and some men) The salon is settled in the corner of the mall. When you walk in, you forget what was outside. When you enter there's a lovely drink station, comfy decorated chairs, there's retail such as a make up bar and nail polishes for sale. If Rebecca isn't with a client, she greets you with a big smile from behind the desk. For first-timers she asked you to fill out a one sheet simple contact paperwork (so get there early). When you're ready, she'll have you come back to the room, and hands you a towel to cover your bit with. You hop your bum on the bed, wait for about a minute when she knocks on the door to check if you're ready. During the process, Rebecca talks to you, so you're focused on the conversation instead of sitting there in silence wondering "omg, this chick I don't even know, is seeing me in all my glory, oh, please - someone don't open that door". Before you know it, that process is over. Yeah, just like that! I am smooth for weeks, my appointments are about five weeks apart. It's so smooth, when I talk about it, I almost shove random stranger hands down my pants just so they can believe me. No pain (for me), no ingrown hair, no bumps, I swear I come out of there ready to conquer the world or the next hot moisture filled man stick within my radar, I kid, I kid. Seriously leave feeling pretty effening sexy though. Sugar waxing is so much better than hot waxing, and I can't help but recommend it to all my family and friends. Really? Don't believe me. In the last five months, I've had my sister, two friends, and my mom come see Rebecca! Yeah, you read that correctly. $50 for a brazilian is an amazing price for the service and process. Do it, don't think about it, don't wuss out. Trust me, this is much nicer than the hot wax. But for the love of karma, get to your appointment on time, and show some proper upbringing. First off: there is onsite parking available which is virtually impossibly to find in this area. Rebecca (owner) is so friendly and welcoming, I felt like I had been visiting an old friend. She is also professional and extremely skilled in her line of work. She made it quick (literally like 15 minutes), virtually painless, and didn't miss a SINGLE HAIR. She also provides samples of the high quality ingrown hair serums so you can try it and see if it works for you before you buy it. I've never seen that before! The ambiance of the entire place is amazing. All of the rooms including the waiting room are stylish, relaxing, and very well planned out. This place and Rebecca are an absolute GEM. She was the only one there an took care of me in a timely manor. I was laughing the entire time. Which is big considering you're about to go through a mini pain session!
