So... I walked down to the framing shop 2 blocks away. After about 20 minutes of going through mattes and different frames I couldn't decide I turned around and saw quite a few vintage frames hanging on the wall... I asked what about those ones. He got a ladder and grabbed 2 ... They both fit like a glove as if they were meant to be... This was the second one... $75! And talk about perfect... It now hangs as you enter my place. An added note ... The frame came from actor Radames Pera (young Caine) from the old Kung Fu series. His parents were collectors of old vintage frames. read more

I took this Tibetan Buddhist Tangka in for a professional framing job. I worked with Sam, and he helped point me towards some great options. We ended up going with a matte black border, to go with the black accents in the artwork, and then I selected this more aged looking gold frame to match some of the darker gold accents in the art. The framing then took a few weeks. I paid in advance and just picked it up today, and am really happy with how beautiful it now looks. Excellent work. I really love how I found the perfect wood frame option for this piece, and they had such a great selection. Let's face it, framing is expensive because it's custom in nature. I'd much rather contribute to a small privately owned business like this than a company like Aaron Brothers (who is actually ridiculously expensive for what you get). The owner of this place is super friendly, has a cute dog (points), and the space has a cool relaxing vibe. He will custom build and give you options based on your budget. The quality and attention to detail on both frames is beautiful, I couldn't be happier. I stumbled across this place when I was shipping the last of my christmas gifts out on December 20th, and I'm sure glad I did! I've had a painting of my husbands in my car for a month trying to find somewhere to get a custom frame done affordably, and thought I'd give it a shot... not only did Sam the owner help me pick out a simple & affordable (but nice!) frame for what I needed, but got it turned around for me by Christmas.
