According to the paper's website it is the only African American publication in Florida that prints twice weekly and owns all its own printing equipment. The paper originally operated in Jacksonville, Florida In 1919 before closing during the Great Depression. It was reopened as a weekly by the son of the owner of that paper, C. Blythe Andrews, in Tampa in December, 1945 at 1511 Central Avenue. The Tampa Bulletin was purchased in 1959 and became twice weekly. In 1962 the paper moved to its current location of 2207 East 21st Avenue. It seems to be distributed mostly around the Sulphur Springs area of Tampa and I have not seen it much elsewhere. When I called The Florida Sentinel the person I spoke with was very kind. She was also familiar with my request and walked me through the process. She provided me with all the information I needed before going into the office to place the ad so I was well prepared. Because of this the process did not take long. Funk irreverant, fannish, fadish, flaming, furious, passionate, and flamboyant, SUBAP! is an emergent periodical tapping the burgeoning music and arts scene in Tampa. Unethical Billing Practices - Beware of No-Refund Policy on Small Orders…read more I recently placed an online order for a product from the Tampa Bay Times website. A few hours later, I changed my mind and canceled the order. I called customer service to confirm the cancellation, and they assured me it was processed and canceled. However, when I followed up to request a refund for the item I never used nor would use I was told that the company has a policy of no refunds on any purchase under $10. The charge was under that amount, so they kept my money despite the order being canceled and before I was using it. This feels like outright stealing. How can a reputable company justify keeping payment for a product or service that was cancelled, simply because the amount is small? It's fraudulent and predatory. Potential customers should be warned: if you place any order under $10 and need to cancel--even hours later and with confirmation--you will not get your money back. I've never encountered this policy at any other legitimate online retailer. It's completely unheard of and leaves a terrible impression of the Tampa Bay Times/Times Publishing Co. Very disappointed and will not do business with them again.

Before we do anything we get informed/prepared by calling first.This way we don't waste energy, time or tickets.We wouldn't want to rob someone else's blessings by not doing so. There are many happy people ("customers") who depend on this Ministry especially in this economy , to provide them with the only form of outlet for the family. This place has everything; a great category of oldies albums, a coffee shop, along with many books,…read moreart, and CDs. Everything was neat and nicely laid out, it definitely felt like somewhere I can relax and study at. I really appreciate the staff for being friendly and welcoming, especially the new worker that came in today and the lady accompanying him. I came to this place feeling frustrated and anxious, but left in a great mood. So, I really appreciate that. And on top of that, they have AMAZING Iced Thai Coffee. Will certainly come back and spread the word!

It wasn't cluttered or messy…read more Since I was just browsing, the neatness of the space made for a peaceful browsing experience, which I loved. The vinyl prices were a bit higher than I'm used to compared to other shops I've visited but they had a great selection. They had a good bit of CDs, as well. The book selection was pretty good. I didn't get to spend as much time on that side but there was a lot to see and choose from. The bathroom was clean. The baristas were kind and checkout was seamless. I highly recommend spending some time here.
