very low key looking video game/collectibles store off a busy intersection. They have a huge selection with a lot of merchandise including parts for video game consoles and vintage games. There's a small arcade you can play at for 8 dollars a day and they offer some repair services too. I was able to have an old game of mine with a lot of sentimental value fixed here in like 15 minutes so i was really happy. Service is great and it's definitely a better place to go than a chain store. 10/10 read more

Super cool place! I was cleaning out my parents' apartment and decided I would try to exchange our old PS2 for cash. Turns out that the place was so cool, I decided to take the store credit instead! Bought myself some Pokémon figurines, earrings made by local artists, and found an old Donald Duck video game that I had been looking for! The people at the front desk were very nice and gave me good advice on what items that'll accept for buy-ins. Can't wait to go back & get more stuff. read more

I've also bought some ps1 demo disks and they were a dollar a piece and I thought that it was cool that half of the store was an arcade they also had some rare games. Awesome little game shop! They buy and sell old games from any era. I came in to sell off a whole bunch of mostly old PS4 games and while the guy was looking them over I browsed the whole place. Half the store is an arcade and the other half is games for sale. While they were looking over my games I sat down and played some old Dream Cast games. So just hanging out was fun. Once they looked it all over, I feel like I got a fair price for all of my games. I am going to head back to probably sell off a few more of my old items. read more

They got to pick up a game, Pokémon cards, and some cool little figurines.Prices are extremely affordable. They even had some items cheaper than Amazon. Jimmy was nice and accommodating. He seemed to really love his job. They had a lot of cool stuff in the store and even had an arcade inside. So much to look at. Video game fans....THIS IS THE PLACE! The holy grail of Video game stores, they have everything. After someone at another shop suggested checking this place out, I obviously had to oblige. The place is big but not huge, but it is PACKED with stuff. From NES to PS5, imports, Atari, and more, you have a selection of games, accessories for absolutely everyone. The store is run in 2 different ways, they have their own selection of products and then they have their "consignment" area which are cases of products being sold by other collectors off property. It was like a Neverending treasure trove of vintage awesome. The cool thing about this spot is the other half of the building is an arcade where you can pay to play all day. The cost is reasonable but I didn't have the time to stay and check it out. I'll add it to the list for next time. The staff was friendly and informative. They were helpful when asked questions and gave us a ton of suggestions. If you're looking for a solid spot with a HUGE selection, this is it. read more

Not gonna lie, this place is really really neat. It definitely brings you back to your childhood of video games when you didn't have discs and only game cartridges. Their selection is out of this world, things you would only find at vintage stores but they have it here. It was really cool, I liked the environment and it was very chill in there. They do have an arcade room where it is all day play for $5 which was neat but we didn't take advantage of it at the time as we were just passing by and wanted to drop in. Their game selection is huge and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely say to drop in and take a look for yourself, no regrets here and if we are ever still feeling nostalgic, we will definitely be making a trip back! read more

Just visited today looking for amiibos, and older Nintendo stuff. The amiibos were a little too much for me, but mostly in-line with eBay prices. There's a lot of vintage gaming items you can find here, and support a local business while you do it. There's also an arcade for all day play; I believe the price was $5 for a day pass. The game prices are cheaper than GameStop on used games like for the Nintendo Switch. I did think they were a little low on how much they would pay for an item. They said they usually pay around 25% if it's actual value. Not sure why anyone would sell something that cheap unless they really needed the money. For example they offered me $100 for Virtual Boy, when it's selling for $300 on eBay. I just assume sell it myself online. The staff was extremely friendly. The ambience in the store is really nice as well. Gaming music playing in the background. The store is well organized, with all sorts of gaming goodies, and even still in box items. The only gripe I have about the store is their consignment area. Almost half the store is laden with overpriced consignment items. People wanting WAY too much for their items. Like I saw a Nintendo Switch OLED used in a box, and the people wanted $349!! Um ... no, I can buy it brand new for that price. I would rather see them stop consignment all together, and put more normal priced items that they themselves are selling in that big area. Overall, it was worth the trip I'd say. It was very nostalgic to walk through the store, and see some of the things I had when I was a kid. If you're a collector, then it's a must go. I even picked up a Switch game for a reasonable price. read more

My teenager enjoys coming here. They have a huge selection of vintage video games. A lot of this stuff has gone up in value so if you are looking for something rare, you're probably going to pay a premium for it here. It's fun though to go and check out the stuff they have. read more

This spot is definitely worth checking out. They have a massive selection across multiple platforms, and there's an arcade in the back for $5 all day play. Some of the individual games are priced a bit high imo, but I understand that there is a major market for retro and vintage gaming items right now. I don't give 5 star reviews for just anyone. But m&m games really make you feel at home and respected. Which is rare for any kind of retail. The employees are always very friendly, fun to talk to and knowledgeable about the stuff they sell. Their prices on most things are great! Ps3 games can sometimes go as cheap as 2 dollars. But they also carry newer games as well such as for the 3ds and Switch. Not as much variety in the new games, they mostly deal in retro. But they have a nice little selection to browse for nearly any system. A few times I was given a faulty game by mistake, they gladly refunded in store credit and sometimes even gave an extra buck or two. Gamestop be damned. Go here. read more

M&M Video Games is by far the best game store I've been to. Their new location is even better than before. They have a great selection of new and old games along with a wide selection of game consoles. They seem to care about retro gaming and assisting customers. Definitely subscribe to their email list to get the latest on events, deals, and discounts. They've always been fair on trade in values for in store credit. I have no complaints about this store and I appreciate their dedication to retro gaming! I wanted to write a review for the M & M on Central Avenue in Gulfport, but I couldn't find it...figured they're all the same company so I'd just make sure it was clear I was talking about the Central Ave one. My fella has been walking to this store for months and buying gifts for himself/me. Finally, I had a chance to stop in while walking home from lunch at the nearby Paulo's Pizza (would recommend btw!) The store was small, but did have a good variety of games and a few that you could play in store. They also had some game accessories and nerdy pins/toys which was fun. The main thing that I want to highlight was the service..,I'm kicking myself for not getting his name, but the attendant was so nice and (the best thing ever) did not condescend to me at all. As a lady gamer-nerd, I find myself frequently getting ignored/talked down to in comic book and video game stores. Here, I was able to go in, browse, chat, and stand alongside my boyfriend while receiving an equal amount of respect and attention. I really appreciate it when I am treated like a serious client because it does happen so rarely, so I have to celebrate and give credit when it happens. Rock on M&M on Central. read more

This is my kids' favorite video game store. The guys that work here are very nice to them. They love the rewards card and bringing back their used games and equipment for store credit. They also do computer repair and virus removal. The store is in a kind of run-down shopping center, but it's easy access for us off of Haines Rd. and 54th Ave. We seem to be here once a week! Wow, lots of reminiscing in this store! They have pretty much everything old school and new here. It was fun to see all of the games I used to play as a kid and show my son. They have lots of used games at a decent price. 14 day return policy on used games! The staff are friendly, personable and knowledgeable at this location. The guy there said he also runs the Church of Nintendo which I thought was cool. I've heard of it but haven't made it out to one of their meetups. They basically set up classic Nintendo gaming at different spots in Tampa Bay and let you relive your gaming moments from when you were a kid. Awesome! Will probably be returning often as my son is an avid gamer. According to their website, their buybacks pay out more than GameStop. Will have to check that out next time too! read more

The guy went and pulled a copy out of the back and gave it to me for free because I was already buying $50 worth of stuff. The game regularly goes for 15-20 on eBay and Amazon. Unfortunately I've experienced poor customer service and will not be returning. I have visited M & M starting from before the move to this new address. It is nice to have a physical location where I could browse old games and even consider old systems and M & M Games does offer a very reasonable variety depending on what you are looking for. Prices vary. There are items very reasonably priced, depending on the system, the game may be complete and looking good. However, there are some severely skewed prices on quite a few items that make no sense. So only go in there if you have looked online and are curious if you may find something for a similar price or just really don't wish to wait for shipping. I can't comment on the "arcade" they opened since I haven't used it. Anyway, the reason for the 2* review is a slight mix of some pricing but mostly due to very poor interactions with one staff member (and recently another likely trying to play up to this person). The very tall guy has always been fine to speak with and helpful. The very short guy with the beard... jeez, he needs to learn customer service. I've experienced his frustration with another customer before but sadly experienced his levity twice myself. The guy literally cut eye contact and walked away in the middle of a conversation - AT TWO different times! There was no rush of customers or the such. There were three employees and one other customer checking out the last time. I ask about two games, then as I am asking a follow up he literally walked away and left me looking silly. I went to speak with another employee who seemed OK, and I briefly caught him up on what had happened and tried to carry on. But when the shorter guy walked by, he then oddly turned and was then quite short to me. I literally asked about a potential trade-in and was looking to buy $25 worth at the time when somehow the guy said I was trying to go behind someone else's back. It made absolutely no sense, I was confused as much as you may be reading this sequence of events, and then the little guy gave me a very dodgy look. I simply said thank you, placed my items back in their respective shelf spots and walked away. Forever. read more

Amazing service at M&M video games! Really cheap video games but great condition for most of them, fixed my Xbox One Elite controller quickly and easily. They didn't even charge me for the diagnostics! They let me purchase the part myself so I knew they weren't overcharging, and only charged $10 for the actual fix that took about an hour. Due to the rareness of the games I was interested in, I had the opportunity to speak to him directly on the phone and he walked me through his diligence process to verify each game, box and manual was entirely authentic. Perfect for me due to the increasing amount of repros that are introduced into the retro game market these days.
