He couldn't walk on his own and needed the restroom; after pressing the call button, no one responded for over 10 minutes. I had to go find help, and a nursing assistant eventually came. When I spoke with Barbara, the Patient Experience Manager, she said 10 minutes was standard and that by law they have up to two hours to respond to a call button. That was unbelievable to hear. He was later moved to a room that was actually ready, but he sat there all day with almost no staff interaction--aside from food trays being dropped off and picked up. He is 82 with multiple medical issues, yet his PT didn't start for several days and no one checked on him. Thankfully, my niece visited; he had an accident, and she helped clean him and change his clothes. Otherwise, he was left wearing the same clothes for days because he couldn't change them himself. This facility is advertised as skilled nursing and rehabilitation, but I saw neither. Leaving an 82-year-old alone all day without routine checks is unacceptable. For the most part, staff were rude and acted like he was a burden. If you want rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and a caring, attentive team, look elsewhere.

There is ALWAYS an excuse as to why results are not given, labs aren't drawn, and assistance is nowhere to be found! They deliberately ignore the call light and if you call it to their attention, they get pissed off at you and your family and will not attend to any critical needs or concerns. They do not know how to assess the needs of their patients. Each person that comes in is handled in the same manner; whether you have just lost your legs and can't walk or whether you got a paper cut. It doesn't matter. No one matters to the staff. They pretend to care but at the end of the day, they don't. Your family member is WAY BETTER OFF going home to rehab in the comfort of the home. My mother was there for broken hip rehab, developed a very contagious stomach infection (out of the blue), became severely dehydrated after 4 days of uncontrollable diarrhea and neglect to treat properly. I removed her from that place and took her to the ER where we were told that she was in renal failure and extremely ill. Three days later, she passed away. What an utter shock to me and my family to bury my beautiful mother this past week. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

After having a very difficult experience at another facility in Kansas City, I was anxious about finding a place where he would truly be cared for. From the very first day, Cassie and her entire staff have shown my father patience, kindness, compassion, and genuine respect. They don't just see him as another resident, they see him as a person. One of the things that has touched my heart the most is how they have embraced who my dad is. Before dementia, he was one of the lead singers in the group SMOKE, and music has always been his greatest passion. Cassie told me that he spends his days singing to the staff and other residents, and instead of dismissing it, management came up with the wonderful idea of letting him perform a mini concert for everyone on his birthday July 26th. That level of thoughtfulness means more to our family than words can express. They're giving him an opportunity to do something he loves while bringing joy to others. As a family member, you always worry whether your loved one is safe, cared for, and treated with dignity. Cityview has given me peace of mind. The staff communicates, they genuinely care, and they go above and beyond to make residents feel valued. My mother, a patient who is not at all a picky eater, has been unable to force down several of her meals. We have resorted to bringing in food to her as often as possible. A top-to-bottom review of Stonegate's food service should be the first step on the road to decent meals for its clients.

This is a hated subject among the residents, 50 percent of the time, if not 75 percent of the time no one likes or eats the food that is served. I was fortunate enough to order out most of the time or I would have lost so much weight and became sick!!! Because I refused along with others not to eat what is being served. I'm not sure who decides what the residence have for their three meals, But I would bet whoever it wouldn't eat the food served here. Whoever you come watch a meal being served and a elderly man or women look at the food and with tears in their eyes try and stomach the food on the tray because there hungry and that's all there is. But as far as the nurses and everyone here there doing a great job with what they have to work with. Thank You for being there for me and the others. The faucet has NO water Filter whatsoever, but I have seen several Water coolers throughout this facility, but I was told that they were for the staff members/employees. She was not discharged until the late afternoon the next day and when I went to get her belongings there was a clear plastic bag with those soiled clothes and feces still in the bag, they did not rinse them or wash them for us. I pointed this out and was told to leave those clothes so they would wash them and call me to pick them up. I never got a call from anyone and I called the director a few times over the next few weeks and she told me she would look into it and call me back. She has never called back at all. It makes me wonder what else happened when I wasn't there. This was very disappointing and I have never had this happen anywhere my mom has lived in assisted living or any other rehab facility. I would not recommend it to anyone.
