Customer service drove the 5 Star rating! Specifically the greeting from the person who was situated in the Creature Comforts store adjacent to the brewery. Store sold the known Creature Comforts brands of beer -including our favorite seasonal milk stout Kona Buni, logoed shirts and accessories and my personal favorite coffee liqueur - one of their newer products. The man who worked the register area also provided samples of products. He educated on content, processes to create and alcohol volume. There was never any pressure to purchase, just the opportunity to sample and experience the brand. It did lead to a purchase that was aided by the positive interaction from this gentleman and the ability to sample beers on tap in the larger dine-in area of Creature Comforts. I did enjoy the beers too. The outdoor area looked inviting, and will likely experience the next time I'm in Athens. Our visit to Creature Comforts was a great way to celebrate my Florida Gators men's basketball win over GA on their home turf!

We took a short 10-minute walk from our hotel and headed in. When we arrived, we were informed we could place our order at either the inside or outside bar. We decided to go inside and check it out. This spot really feels like the beer mecca of Athens, Georgia, UGA shirts everywhere and we could tell we were in a college town. We looked over the full menu, ordered our beers, and decided to check out the outdoor patio area. It was game day and packed out there. We couldn't really find a good seat so we went back in where there was plenty of seating. Inside, there were big screens everywhere, especially one massive screen in the main area, perfect for watching the game. There were two bars and plenty of space if you wanted another beer. Everything was super clean and well-maintained, with staff constantly scanning the room and clearing empty glasses and trash quickly. There's not too much to say about this place. Overall, it's easy to see why this place is considered the mecca of UGA football and the Athens' beer community.

The brewery is massive with a nice clean indoor space and outdoor patio. Dogs are allowed outdoors only so please be mindful when bringing them in the heat. There are a few fans outside. This was a quick spontaneous trip so I only had one bear which was the Tsunduko which is their Japanese rice lager. I was craving a z Kieran so this was the perfect cool crisp beer to satisfy that craving. The staff was very friendly. The gentleman at the checkin was informative of the area and recommended some food places as Creature Comforts does not sell food (though they have food trucks occasionally.) 10/10 would recommend.

I am not a brewery kind of girl but I must say this place was very nice. My niece and brother loved it and their beers. What I do appreciate is that they had something that I could drink other than their beer or water. They have a little gift store and we picked up a cute little baby outfit. It was Fathers day and my brother got a free beer. The place is spacious and lots of light. We got there at 1:45 pm and by 2:30 the place was full. We were allowed to order food and have it dropped off. We had a great time.

I have been to Creature Comforts a few times. I love this brewery. First off, it's HUGE. There is so much space to sit inside or even stand if you want too. For this particular visit, it was super packed, but we were still able to find a spot to sit, and there were about 10 of us. They have a HUGE menu of a bunch of different drink options. They have your regular beers, mocktails, cocktails, frozen drinks, and they even have THC beverages! It's nice to see that they have many other options besides just beer. The service is great as well too, and the entire staff is all super friendly and helpful. The establishment is also very clean too. They even have a gift store where you can buy some Creature Comforts merch. I didn't buy anything this time around, but when I came previously, I had purchased a t-shirt. The brewery is located right in DT Athens, so it can be the perfect place to go to before something or even after.

Not only a great selection of beverages but seating as well. Enjoy the outdoor garden area or the larger indoor space with direct views of the brewery operations. Plenty of space for events and the keg tables are cool. Need something. To take home they offer plenty of room for easily 200 people.

What a fabulous place!! Now while there is not food for sale there may be a food truck in proximity or their amazing farmer's market!!! I have never seen such amazing vegetables on shelves in years! But the brewery... gorgeous yet very large. It seemed family friendly but again it was during the farmers market also. They have a great selection and merch for sale. I got the flight. They are up there as far as good local beers that everyone should know.

I've been wanting to try Creature Comforts Brewing for such a long time! Of course part of that is wanting to go to Athens as well for it's rock music background (R.E.M., B-52's). I know those band's heyday are past but the desire to go remains. At last I did get a hold of some Creature Comforts beer(got a small taste of Athens but not enough. Another time.) Awaken, My Love was the beer I had from Creature Comforts. An Imperial Stout with chocolate, cinnamon and coffee flavors. This beer was so good. I rate beers on Untapped and I issued a five star rating which is very, very rare for me to do! That tells you just how much I loved this beer! Unfortunately I didn't get to try anything else (Awaken, My Love did have a 13% ABV) but I'm pretty confident that any of this brewery's beer would be excellent since I was in such awe with the one I had!

Lots of space inside and out, large variety of beers and customizable flights. I visited on a Saturday nights and they had live bands playing outside. Great for groups or casual past by. My fav was the neon cylinder. It has a sour twist.

Cool brewery that captures the essence of the University nearby. Frat houses, Dawg statues large screen sporting events (football) and really cold delicious craft beer in downtown Athens. I enjoyed the Feel Free, bursting with flavor and just the right chill. I sampled the Imperial Trop Haze. It was a great a IPA but I only had time for one brew this day.

Creature Comforts is a great local brewery located in downtown Athens within easy walking distance of nearby restaurants as well as the Iconic 40 Watt Club. Creature Comforts puts out numerous very good year round and seasonal brews. My favorites are their Classic City Lager and their Tropicalia India Pale Ale. A friend who lives in town knows I generally hate IPAs, but recommended it nevertheless. I'm glad he did. Once I tried it, I ordered it at lots of places around town. Food is not served, but food trucks set up shop on the grounds often from what I'm told, and there was a food truck on site when we visited on a Sunday afternoon. The tap room is very nice with lots of seating, and their is a nice, spacious covered patio for those who enjoy sitting outdoors. The staff were welcoming and friendly. It's a good place I will happily return to when I'm in Athens again next year. Cheers!

August 23, 2020 After visiting Fainting Goat Vineyard last month--the owner is a partner in this brewery---it only made sense to pay tribute to his ownership interest in Creature Comforts Brewing while we were visiting Athens. Upon entering our host asked for a credit card at the greeting table to minimize contact during COVID times, which was good. Our host led us to a table outside on a hot summer afternoon and we ordered a couple of IPAs: I had the Lupulous, and Nicole the Tropicalia. The outdoor seating area is fantastic with several tables under an amazing wooden canopy. There is also a large beer hall indoors which was not currently being utilized. The beers were great and helped us develop an appetite for dinner. Look forward to coming here again to try some of the other offerings.

Does Creature Comforts have food offerings or do they have a food truck(s)?

Hola! Hopefully you guys see this in time. But I will be driving through Athens tomorrow but it is before the brewery opens.…

Five Points Bottle Shop has an excellent selection. Can not guarantee all because some beer is Brewery only releases. Athena is not.

Have you ever made an ale or beer without using hops in it? I have a severe allergy to hops. It could be a non alcohol beer , but taste like beer.

Aubrey, Technically without hops you don't have beer but rather a carbonated malted beverage. Hops…

I took a quick sip of the Tropicalia and hated it, but I hate hoppy beers so there was really no shocker there.

I've tried many of these beers from the store over the years, so while in town I had to try some from the source. They also have events which look cool. My brother tried the flight option, which worked as pull tickets for each sample he wished to try--and they gave him a full pour for each sample (and a to go glass), so he left with plenty of tabs left to use if he ever makes his way back to the area. I tried two different drafts and loved both of them, there's nothing on the menu not worth trying.

We pulled into the large building and went into the taproom. The taproom too is large, with many beers on tap. I asked for a flight, but they don't do them in the traditional way. You have to buy tokens, 12 bucks for 6 tokens and each token gets you a half pour unless you get a premium stout in a can then it's 2 tokens. It gets a little confusing. Anyway, I ended up with a few IPAs that were decent and a can of Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Stout that was really good. There was no food onsite, but they may have food trucks. They just didn't that day. Seems like a waste not to have a kitchen with such a nice tap room. The gift shop is large and the prices were reasonable.
