Nice assortment of beers & ciders. The Black Cherry Cider was really good. Best wings around hands down. The pretzel/cheese appetizer was freshly made, excellent and brick oven pizza was on point. The heated patio was spacious with live music, not too loud so you could hold conversation without leaning in. Service was good which has been surprisingly hard to find in the Galax area lately. Total bill was $75 for appetizer, drinks, and dinner for 2. Very enjoyable for a date night. My new go to recommendation. read more

Stopped by yesterday for a late lunch and was not disappointed! We sat at the bar (all Covid procedures were being followed) and had great service from the bartender-plus, it was just a cool vibe! They seemed short staffed, people were waiting a long time and having to ask other employees for water or take out boxes. If i could give this place zero stars i would. We sat down at a table and sat there for about 20 minutes with no sever coming up to great us. There were two other tables that came in after us and got a sever right away. Even after we told someone we haven't been greeted she said "sorry I'll try and get someone the kitchen it backed up" while there were 4 servers standing there. We would have been okay if someone at least came up and greeted us and told us they would be with us in a second. We were here 4 years ago and enjoyed it so much we are back today. So glad to see they have survived Covid!!! The Crispy Brussels and Pimiento Cheese were amazing!! Then we had a Route 89 burger and Shrimp Tacos, all amazing as well!!! My friend had a West Coast IPA, which she said was wonderful. Lots of beers (almost 20 on-tap), and good pub food. This is one of the better places to eat and drink in Galax. Sadly, mixed drinks are available only at their sister restaurant, and not here. Fried pickles are a favorite appetizer. The sandwiches are good (though I like some much better than others). Favorites are the bánh mì, the smoking hokie (lots of turkey - turkey breast smoked in-house and sliced thin), the cubano, and the various chicken wraps. A really popular item is the Galax country club sandwich, but it is huge (rightly speaking the equivalent of about 3-sandwiches), and is just too much to eat (plan on taking at least half home). It's more of a gimmick than a great sandwich, but it's ok (and is a great value). There are a variety of beers on tap, and many more in bottles, some standard, some unusual (i.e. a tangerine beer). There is also a selection of hard ciders. Outside is hot at this time of year, and close to the parking lot (not great), while inside is dark and dive-bar-like. It's a fine place to go for beer and pub food (lots of appetizers, pizza etc. that I haven't tried), and it's inexpensive. read more

First time trying this restaurant drove 30 min and was not disappointed. I got a bacon cheeseburger with the works and I'm picky about burgers it was excellent. Husband got pepperoni pizza the best that we have found within a 30 mile radius. We were surprised they had a band also. Staff very friendly and accommodating. We will be back! read more

Full disclosure; No bones to pick, I'm not from this area. Lots of craft beer but I got a perfectly cold Michelob can. Fries were excellent. The fry-a-holic wife said they were a 10. The wings, eh.....not good. They were huge but absolutely zero taste and waaaay overcooked with the skin having a dry burnt grease taste, not greasy just old grease taste, stale. I got em naked with blue cheese on the side so barbecue sauce couldn't enhance or hide the taste. Bbq sauce would have been "the taste" cause they had none stand alone. Wait staff, average. Outdoor area looked great for groups. Lot of take out locals picking up. read more

Burger and sweet potato fries a complete miss. Fries were cold and I mean cold. Cheese burger came with no cheese, a really stale bun and slightly under cooked burger. Utensils came in a plastic wrap with 1 weak napkin. Service staff is like "well the kitchen tries their best". Neighbors warned me again but few choices. Hubby and I went here after a long day of shopping at the Hillsville flea market. Not a lot of places to pick from, but we're looking for good food and a beer. Parking was difficult but we finally found a space. Live entertainment on this Friday was good. It was early so not too crazy. Wait staff was plentiful and suggested several beers based on what we told her we liked. It was busy but not crazy. My husbands burger arrived about 15 mins before my pizza. It was obvious by the fact that we could see the kitchen staff scrambling to get orders ready that they were quite short handed in the kitchen! Sauce was missing on burger and pizza was ok. Thin crust was good. Was ok. Maybe in light of restrictions lifting they are working on getting it together. read more

Love this place! They have great pizzas and wings, plus a huge beer selection. The brewery offers beers brewed by them + tons of cans and bottles from other breweries across the US. There are tons of different styles of beer/ cider/ even wine to pick from. There's tons of space here, several different seating areas. The staff is always super friendly and helpful with the menu. The nachos weren't my fav (I wish they had some more veggies/ tomatoes or something but if you're into meat and cheese grab them) but other than that everything I've tried has been great. This may be the best craft brewery we've visited so far in southwest Virginia. It is a short drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway so we tend to always make a stop in Galax for lunch when we go out leaf peeping in the fall. The food is excellent, the beers on tap are excellent, and the choice of bottled craft beers for sale on the wall is the best I've seen anywhere. They have great seating both indoors and out. I just don't see a way that this could be better. They've nailed it. read more
