This place was so wonderful. I took my family to the farms in Maryland to go apple picking in the fall. We were looking for a place that the kids and adults would equally enjoy. I was surprised to see this winery so close to the Maryland border and we headed over. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is such a relaxing atmosphere and a great spot if you're visiting with kids.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The winery has large fields that they can run around and the staff was so warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When we visited, they had extra desserts they were giving out since they had an event. It was such a nice touch and my kids went back (multiple times!) to help themselves to the pumpkin cake. They even gave us a bag of cookies to take with us. The menu was also a hit for the kids. They offer a cheese flatbread pizza, and for the adults, we enjoyed the goat cheese pizza drizzled with red wine vinaigrette. The spinach artichoke dip was also a hit. My partner and I also did wine flights. I decided to do the red flight while my partner did the classic flight. Of the wines, the un-oaked chardonnay was our favorite. For the reds, I liked the cabernet franc, which grows so well in Virginia and you can't go wrong. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is great in the summer with it's large outdoor deck. Our first visit here. 1. Reservation: not needed, just stop by 2. Wine: its 3.5 stars out of 5. I liked their whites and straight up hated their bourbon barrel reds. I didn't even drink it. 3. Food: 3 stars - Bruschetta- 3 stars. The taste of the 'sauce' is good, but they have like bunch of hard toasted bread and put the topping of the bruschetta like a salsa in a bowl. That is not the usual way to deliver and the ratio of the bread to sauce is terrible. You can put 1 teeny dice of tomato on a big slice of baguette sorta ratio. - Arugula prosciutto flatbread: 4 stars It is actually pretty good with its hot honey 4. Service: 4 stars. We went to the edge of the creek, and then stayed dry. No, we went to creek's edge and crossed the creek. Don't cross the creek without an excellent server like Sandy. She was terrific. Can't speak for the quality of anything but the water, which was fine. We were sat outside and no one came to take our order or check on us. Waited for more than 15minutes before we decided to leave. Made reservations for a noon Easter Egg hunt with a Brunch Board. We arrived, it's a beautiful winery, we had reservations for a noon seating. There was a seating at 10am so we were the second wave. The board we ordered was a medium size $120 and was plenty for our party of 4 adults and 2 children. They told us we can we can start our egg hunt anytime while we visited in our 12-2pm time frame. We ate for 40 mins and decided to take the kids outside for an egg hunt. THERE were NO EGGS to be hunted. We searched high and low and nothing, not even ONE egg. So, the first wave of kids hunted all 500 eggs that were advertised by this winery, if actually 500 eggs were hidden. It was a disappointment, there were only a few kids in our second wave at noon. Overall it was an awful experience and as a Loudoun county resident I would never do this winery for Easter again. read more

This is a beautiful venue with indoor and outdoor seating. This was one of my friends' favorite wineries. My friend and I tried the creek flight which composed of 3 whites and a rosé. I wasn't terribly impressed with any of the wines, but I was so content being outside and soaking up the sun-- it didn't really matter. We tried to order some food but our server was nowhere to be found. There was a huge birthday party event going on though. We had to go inside to pay the bill because yet again, no one checked on us. This winery was really nice. We drove through some back roads to get here. It's worth the drive. They have the option to make reservations through an online system. We reserved for our group and chose the outdoor deck. There's also an I side seating area and a covered pavilion that has live music. The parking lot is huge. We did a couple of flight tastings and ordered all sorts of food. They have sandwiches, dips and meat and cheese boards. All very good. Server was great. Very attentive and provided us with lots of information. Great addition to the Loudoun Wine area. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Creek's Edge on a late Sunday afternoon. Even though it was a little chilly outside, I expected to see large crowds upon arrival. Instead, I found a very chill, physically-distanced small smattering of people. Some were outside on the deck and a few others were inside, enjoying the live music. The host immediately greeted us and gave us the option of sitting indoors or outside and she quickly explained how everything worked (flights, bottles, full table service, food menu, etc.). We chose a table on the deck overlooking the beautiful property. Another staff member quickly came out to see if we had questions and if we were ready to try some wine. We both opted for flights, not realizing how generous the flights would be! Since we selected two different flights, we ended up sharing everything and having our own little self-guided tasting. The pours were so incredibly generous, that it took us the good part of an hour to get through our flights. Maybe even longer. No one made us feel rushed at all, but they did keep an eye on us to see if we needed anything. We had already eaten a pretty big lunch, but we ordered the garlic pull bread to nosh on while we sipped the wine. SO good! Bread is always a good idea when we drink wine, and this was delicious enough that we'd get it on every visit. We didn't really know much about this winery before our visit, so we didn't have any expectations going in. It ended up being on of our favorite wineries in the area! We've been to 138 wineries in Virginia and this is definitely one that we will revisit when we're in the area. The service was phenomenal - we had three different staff members that interacted with us throughout our visit and they were all very warm and welcoming. They seemed genuinely grateful that we were there. They had a Chardonnay special during our visit, but since it wasn't in either of our flights, I asked if I could taste it before committing to an entire bottle and they happily obliged right away. It was delicious and we took a bottle back to our hotel room to have with dinner. The wines were all very good! It was my partner's birthday weekend and this ended up being his favorite winery experience during our whole trip. The wines, atmosphere, service and bread were all fabulous. Amazing hidden gem winery in Leesburg with amazing views, a cozy indoor and outdoor atmosphere, accommodating and friendly staff, and really really delicious wine! We tried the Fall Blend flight and they allowed us to substitute two wines of our choosing out. Our tasting list was the following: 1. Vidal Blanc: very light, airy, refreshingly crisp wine with hints of melon and peach. Not too aromatic and not too strong. Smooth finish. I'd pair this with pasta or seafood. It was a great white wine for people who aren't fans of white. 2. Viognier: highly aromatic and fruity white blend with notes of peach and citrus and floral notes. I was a big fan of this Viognier and it is by far one of my favorites of any winery I've been to in Virginia wine country. Highly recommend this if you are a Viognier fan or like a nice floral and flavorful fruity white. This would be a great wine to add to a summer sangria. 3. 2018 Creek Bed Redd: a savory and beautifully crafted red blend that will even convince those that hate red wine that they need some. It has light hints of a buttery American Oak finish, some floral fragrance, and I tasted a bit of cherry. A delightful red! 4. 2018 Bourbon Barrel Blend: WOW! This is the most "Fall" wine I've ever tasted. Due to the whiskey barrel aging process it had hints of sweet caramel and crisp apple, a warm buttery finish, and very balanced acidity. I was a big fan of this and would love to add it to a fall red sangria. The inside and outside of this winery is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, even at sundown when we went there. Solid wines. We would come back just for the wine here. The Riesling is delicious (grapes are from out of state) and the Foothills Redd was my favorite red. Here is the kicker though ..All the wines were at least drinkable. (Sorry to hate on VA but the wine country here has been not good. Blech) but Creeks Edge is the best we have had in VA so far. All wines were good if not great. Charming rustic interior. Spacious patio. I wish it had an overlook of rolling hills. Instead it's a cute rolling park area. I made reservations a month prior to coming to this gorgeous winery with a group of 20 people. The views and ambiance at this winery was great! The service was good, could have been a bit better. I spoke with Jordan when making the reservations, which was easy and great. I went ahead and ordered 2 charcuterie boards because we had a large group to start the table off with. Come to find out Mercedes, wouldn't let my guests order anything off the menu at all. And the boards took almost an hour to come to our table after arriving. We wanted to order more and spend $$ but we were told no because they have a small kitchen. I get that but we were paying customers and these wineries need to stop having all these rules. It definitely put a sour mood in my group as they came up and told me. Also the boards have 5 pieces of bread each and I asked for more and they charged me $2.00 but the bread never came....They need more help. Let people order what they want. We were so stoked to visit this winery. Upon arrival we immediately appreciated the beautiful venue. It is gorgeous there. They have great amount of space indoors/outdoors & they allow your furry friends outside. However when we went indoors it had a sign to wait at the host stand. So we waited about 7-10minutes there until the hostess came. She told us to seat ourselves somewhere outside, so we did. Came back up to order food/wine. Oh boy, do they have terrible service. We waited around for another 10minutes by the bar. There were 2 sommeliers, neither of them acknowledged us. So we moved to a different area by the bar. Finally one of them acknowledged us and said she would be with us. Then started serving someone that came after us. Another couple came after us as well then the other wine steward started serving them... we were quite upset on being skipped twice. Who does that? It is absolutely rude. So she came over to ask us what we wanted. We ordered few bottles of wine and food immediately because we did not want to wait around another 15 minutes to order something else. They said our buffalo dip & charcuterie board would take 10minutes. We came back after 10minutes to get our food but it was not ready and the server did not acknowledge us at all again.. they can say at least "i will be right with you" or "give me a moment." Clearly our food wasn't ready so we went back & came back after another 10minutes and got our food. This place should be embarrassed of their charcuterie board. They advertise it as chef's hand crafted meat + cheese specials. LOL $35 for one type of salami, very low quality cheese, few slices of apples, oranges and grapes. It is a joke. Don't order their charcuterie. Also, what is up with their presentation? There is NONE. This charcuterie was probably worth $12. Horrible service. Horrible food. Mediocre wine. Beautiful venue. We will not be coming back to this place. Teach your sommeliers how to serve people better! Giving 2 stars because they allow dogs outside & their venue is beautiful. Stopped by on a very rainy Saturday afternoon. We sat outside under a roofed section along the building and had a wonderful time outside while also getting to see the rain yet stay dry. I only have good things to say about this place. I tried 8 of their wines and would drink any of them again, that's how good they are. We also ordered a variety of snacks, and I really enjoyed the caprese sandwich, and the spinach and artichoke dip plate was huge and delicious. I cant recommend this place enough. It's a little out of the way compared to other wineries in the area, but it's worth the trip! And on top of all that, the service was excellent and the staff are just such a pleasure and made the trip all the better. Check this place out! read more

This was our favorite winery that we had visited the entire trip. Luckily it was our final stop. The wine server was very knowledgeable about the different wines. He was really good at his job. He would explain the different notes, how they tasted and went from there. We both tried a different type of tastings. I had the premium wine. He said the Cab Franc Reserve is his favorite. He'd have two bottles while he works, but they would frown upon that. :) He wasn't kidding. The Cab Franc was my favorite, and best Cab Franc I've ever had. I purchased 4 bottles of that. They were $42 each. That's a higher value than I normally go. I figure when am I coming back, mine as well get 4 for now. We purchased other bottles, and the food was good. We had a pizza and it was delicious. The place inside is HUGE and absolutely beautiful. Outside looks really nice. We want to come back during nice weather to check it out again. read more

I'm happy to change my previous 3 star review to 5 stars; the first time any winery has made such a huge stride this fast. As a general rule with Virginia wineries, I find the more they depend on their location/views/wedding business to draw people in, the more the wines suffer. During previous visits, I feared this was the direction they were taking. But with this most recent visit I can report that the wine really is above par. Serving excellent reds with an amazing location is a guaranteed way for me to give anyone 5 stars. Creek's Edge has I think around 30 acres under vine right now, but that will almost double when their new 30 acre vineyard comes to age next year. My server was outstanding; he noticed one of the bottles of white had gone bad, and was quick to swap it out for a new bottle with an apology. None needed; I always appreciative of places that train their staff well, and over several visits I can see that is true here. I also found I enjoyed several varietals or styles here that I usually scoff at elsewhere. I don't know what they did, but I hope they keep doing it! Their tasting menu is extensive, and you can do partial or full tastings. What I tried: 2015 Vidal: Very nice and crisp, apple notes. This grape has been hit or miss, but this was something I'd happily buy (and despite being a white). 2014 Viognier: Another grape that's hit or miss with me, but in this case was a hit. Made in a dry style. 2015 Water's Edge: My notes fail me because I didn't get the grape, but I wasn't a big fan anyway. 2015 Rose: Merlot based, amazing peach color and made in a dry style. Another style I usually avoid, but I think theirs was very good. NV Chambourcin: Some fruit notes but not overpowering like many Chambourcins. My notes from last year tells me I loved it last year as well, so at least my palate is consistent. 2012 Merlot: Lighter bodied, some cherry notes. Tied for second favorite of the day (with the Chambourcin). 2014 Foothills (red blend): Merlot, Cab Franc, and Cab Sav. For whatever reason though I thought it was just OK. 2014 Reserve Cab Franc: Some pepper but not a lot. Again, just OK. 2014 Vintner's Blend: A-MAAA-ZING. I mean, knock your socks off amazing. Of course at $38 it better be pretty darn good. Still, Christmas is coming and momma needs presents under the tree, so she's in for a treat. Sweet Caroline: Desert wine, that was too sweet for me. Hunting Hill's port-style: Nice balance of not too sweet or overpowering. Made with Chambourcin. One of the better Virginia ports I've had lately. If there's one down side is that bottle prices were typically on the high side; I think high 20s/low 30s. Still, with a location like this, I can understand it. read more

It feels like wineries in Va are a dime a dozen. With that said, it hard to find a spot that you say "wow, I want to return". With Creeks edge, i said that. We arrived around 3:30 on a rainy Saturday to a beautiful property. You walk up a long set of stairs to a very spacious deck that is 1/2 covered so you would be able to use on not so perfect weather days. Inside it's another spacious and comfortable tasting room with an added balcony space for little ones or more private experiences. The devil is in the details for me and Creek's edge hit the nail on the head. From the unique wood trim baseboards to the silo spiral staircase, I feel like they put a lot of thought into this property. It's beautiful. Now onto the tasting, there are 3 options, the house, deluxe, and premium tasting. We choose the premium tasting. It was $13, but I would say there were 12-13 wines that came with the tasting. Out of all of those, I really only disliked the sweet dessert and the port wine. I really enjoyed each red we tried with the Vinter's reserve taking home the prize for me. It's a red blend that's smooth and dry, but not so bold it would scare away the white wine folks. Roland did our tasting and we truly enjoyed our interaction with him. He was personable, cute, and all about his interaction with the customers. He made our visit one to remember. There was also live music the whole time we were there (approximately 2 hours). The singer was really good and it was nice to have something to sing along with while I drank my wine and eat my meat and cheese. Last great thing...they were open until 8!! That seems much later than a lot of other wineries that we have visited. I think it's easy to say that Creek's Edge made it to the top of my favorite wineries list for all the reasons above. read more

I visited Creek's Edge Winery on Sunday because i wanted just to have a fun date with me, myself and I! I was expecting it to be crowded but to my surprise it wasn't ! I was seated immediately at an outdoor table on the deck. Miriam elyse (hope i am spelling her name right) was the one taking care of that area. I decided to start with flights , 2 whites and reds. Excellent dry whites so I decided to buy a bottle of vidal Blanc to enjoy in the premises. They have foods so no need to bring a picnic (which isn't allowed ) . Plenty of spaces to social distance and sanitizing between each customers. Oh the bathroom were clean lol, only saying that cause I took some pics with a sign in there lol... Masks required while moving around. They were so attentive to everyone's need . I love that I didn't have to move to go place any orders. I just was in my zone, enjoy my music (headphones) and sipping on some vidal Blanc. I got to chat with the cutest couple (23-22) and got a few recommendations about where to eat.. They were nice enough to give me an extra tasting of the water's edge before I purchase a bottle to go.. Overall great experience and definitely a great winery with plenty of spaces and great white wines.. There was no better way to spent my Saturday afternoon but at this beautiful winery with live music and sipping on my glass of wine. Plus, they have their JMU flag (DUKES!), thats not the point ;) Let's talk about their wine! We first went to the tasting room and the bar was pretty full. Everyone was mainly there for tasting. A bartender approached us asked what we would like. We told her it was our first time at this winery and wanted to just get a bottle of white and enjoy the live music. So right of the bat, she recommended WATERS EDGE WHITE. Like she already knew what we would like, she gave us a sample of that and we all loved it. It was not dry and not too sweet. It ends with a refreshing note. After purchased a bottle of the waters edge, we walked over to the pavilion for live music. There was an artist playing his guitar and singing. The atmosphere was so great. There's also a bar where you can purchase wine there. I saw people have also bought their own food and snack if you are up for a picnic on any day. Our fav stop in VA wine country. Being from out of town and more accustomed to the American wines of the North (Michigan, Ohio, Niagara) I was impressed by the selection of reds and pleased to find that very few of the wines are sweet. I found most of the wines here to be smooth and semi-dry. The reds outshine the white (but I am more of a red wine girl anyways). Not only are the wines great, but the venue is so beautiful! Recommended Red +Vintner's Blend Reserve (more spice/zest to it) +Foothill's Red (smooth & likely to please a large group of people) Recommended White +Viognier +Chardonnay Shoutout +Hunting Hill dessert wine-- it is made with Brandy to counter the sweetness. Our visit was unplanned and we didn't have a reservation, but it wasn't necessary as we only opted for a tasting and enjoying the weather for the two of us. Lots of room to spread out for groups, and you can bring your own food to share if you stick to the grassy areas (non patio seating). They have food for purchase but we didn't get any on our visit - the cheese boards did look enormous (in a good way!) so will have to check it out for next time! read more

The architecture of this winery is dangerously seductive, which makes the wine measurably more delectable. All those wooden beams, the plush wooden wrap-around bar with built-in antiques, the chandelier with antlers, and the genuine heft of the barn-styled space cause abnormal levels of enthusiasm and delight. You'll also want to be sucked into that magical silo, which has been crafted like the interior of an oak barrel used for fermenting and aging grape-juice. Oooh, la and la. On weekends, they frequently have live music, which is very magical. The only drawback is that the deck is built to overlook their parking lot. Personally I would prefer to look at fields of grapes; only seems appropriate for having driven all the way out into the countryside. The nice thing is, you can see open skies from this winery, and sunsets are magnificent (hearken back to the seduction aspect....) The tasting flight of wines is still fairly traditional with no strange fruit blends or port-style sweet offerings (which I rather like). Their pink sangiovese and riesling are made with Washington State grapes while all the rest are locally-grown varietals. My favorite of late is their "Foothill Red", a bordeaux blend. The 2011 year was more 'moist' and the wines from that year, particularly the 2011 Merlot stood out to me. Jeff who pours tastings is a local (his family runs a local goat farm and B&B) who has a charming deportment. Too often part time workers are distracted in manner and overwhelmed by crowds...not so, Jeff. Equally, the wine-maker, Jeremy, has really hit his stride here. We bring our own picnic (although food is now available for sale), and enjoy their whites/reds on the lovely deck...and when it's snowing, inside by the fire. I signed myself up for their annual membership which requires me to buy 24 bottles during the period of a year. I also get to sponsor four friends their $8 tastings for free, each time I go. (I highly recommend you pay extra $4, and get the extended tasting with more reds). Wonderful vibe out here in the fields...after a couple of glasses the corn maze in the adjacent farm would be extreeeemely fun. Now, can I interest anyone in some wine? read more

This is a beautiful winery! They have a large tasting menu and you can choose what you want to taste, if you like only reds you can taste only reds same with whites or you can taste both. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and make your experience fun. There is plenty of room both inside and out with lots of seating. The tasting room has a cozy feeling although it is large. This is one of my favorite wineries. They allow picnic foods, have a great wine selection, and a great tasting room. Their outside seating is nice in good weather. They are all about their wine and customers having good experiences. They're not stuffy and take themselves too seriously like some places in the area. If you have a free afternoon, I recommend bringing some charcuterie and crackers for an enjoyable day with friends. read more

We visited Creek's Edge Winery with our friends last August and truly enjoyed it! They have a large, modern tasting room and an excellent tasting. We visited on an overwhelmingly hot and humid day (and it rained earlier that morning), so it felt excellent to sit inside and enjoy their amazing air conditioning! I couldn't believe that some of the guests were sitting out on the veranda on such a hot day! We did the tasting and also ordered some wine. It was too hot for me to order a red wine, so I opted for a cool, sweet viognier (in addition to the tasting). The tasting was just $10 and was comprised of the following: -2015 Vidal Blanc -2014 Chardonnay -2015 Water's Edge White -2014 Rose of Sangiovese -2015 Rose Camelot -NV Chambourcin -2012 Merlot -2014 Foothills Red There's also apparently a creek around here (seeing as how it is called Creek's Edge Winery), but we could not see where it was.
