This visit we did the Firefly's Choice flight and it did not disappoint. Every wine was well-crafted and the staff made the whole experience feel personal and welcoming. The cottage itself is private, charming, and exactly what you want for a romantic weekend away. Firefly Cellars punches well above its weight as a boutique winery. You have the option to do tastings, flights, but by the glass or bottle and order food from their onsite kitchen. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I was pleasantly surprised to see horses on site wandering around and eating grass. I love a good camp fire! The wines were genuinely good, and the staff made the experience even better. Super helpful with recommendations and clearly know their stuff when it comes to guiding you through the selections. There is pizza. It's available, but it didn't really deliver on quality -- stick to what they do best, which is the wine. If you are not in the tasting room, you can bring your own food. We LOVED the cats that casually wandered (snuck) into the tasting room like they lived in the place. They were super friendly and would walk past. On a clear day I imagine the outdoor space with those views and a real wood fire is pretty unbeatable. We'll definitely be back when the weather cooperates.

They have quite a few options although many of them are by the bottle only. We did not try any of the food offerings because we brought our own food so can't comment on that. We tasted all the wines available. The Reds were my favorite - the 2014 Petit Verdot was really nice! And we got a bonus taste of their Blackberry wine! Yummm! I love being able to experience Virginia wines while living in a different state and I love having my membership benefits when I do visit the area. The staff at Sunset Hills vineyard has always been welcoming, knowledgeable and hospitable. In addition, they are great with managing my shipments and account from afar and they make it easy to customize a shipment if you prefer different wines than they are offering. Their food service is great for pairing, I absolutely love their ciabatta bread and warm cheese spread with honey. My favorite thing to do is stop in, taste what is new and share a bottle and some snacks with friends while enjoying the views. Whether I am enjoying live music inside in the winter months or sitting on the deck or outdoor covered area in the summer months, Sunstet Hills Vinyard is my happy place to unwind.

There's 3 gates - the first one is general admission and the second one is 21+ only. If you're going with a group, make sure to tell them which lot you're parking in and where to find you since it's very easy to get lost. There's sooo much seating and it looked like you can make reservations for groups, so the ambiance is great for big parties or to celebrate an occasion (like a birthday or bachelorette). You can either be indoors or outdoors, but this place is very conducive to any type of group energy. Also, there's so much scenery and seating, it's soooo beautiful - great for pictures. To order food, you place an order outside at the barn and get a pager. It'll buzz and let you know when your food is ready for pickup. You can also order wine downstairs by the bottle and get as many glasses as you'd like for sharing. There's also a small gift shop as well. The food was expensive, but good quality overall. The chicken strips and fries with a peach tea was $20, but the vibe was worth it so I didn't really mind. I'd definitely come here to celebrate something with a group!
