It's like they paid high school students to build this and pepper in random "horror" props from Party City. The website avertises 3 different themes that you will walk through, and you CAN NOT tell them apart since everything looks the same amateurish. Second, the "actors". How can these folks be called actors when they barely did a friggin thing?? The majority of them just stood there or walked past people. Not once did I see anyone jump out and scare anyone. And no one here had any quality makeup on. It's like they all just had crap face painting slapped on them. Thank god my group and I bought the fast passes. We would have been livid to have waited in the long ass line for what we heard was a good two hours for some, and come out disappointed as we did. The folks running this don't care about quality or actually providing an experience. They're simply cashing in on cheap shyte. We bounced over to Legends of Fear after, located about 20 mins from this. And finally had a terrific experience full of scares for everyone in my group. Characters walk by for photo ops and entertainment while you wait in line. NYPD staff is so fun and friendly. The house is for ages 12 and older, they allow younger ages at the parent's discretion. It so well done with jump scares in almost every room. It feels like a safe outing. Hours this year are 5pm to 11pm from Friday to Sunday. They let you in in small groups so you don't feel rushed. At the end, they sell Halloween themed souvenirs with NYPD and Fort Totten on them. I bought a Tshirt to support such an awesome event which is FREE to the community. We loved it and appreciated it!

However for what I did see, Bane knocked it out of the water. The actors were top notch and really played up their characters. The environment was crazy immersive and scary. We watched the Mercy TV count rise as we stood in line and it totally freaked us all out. Once inside, we can hear people screaming from the rooms next to us and it was a cool feeling all around. I'm suped to come back next year and check out Bane with full lighting and I'm excited about their events to come. The attraction itself is pretty creative, with a few things I haven't seen in other haunted houses. But the quitter counter, which displayed the number of guests who quit in fear, made it seem scarier than it actually was. It was honestly a bit too dark in there to see the costumes/makeup of the actors. The majority of the scares were jump scares.

You take the ski lift to the top of the mountain and walk down. I had never been on a ski lift before and in the dark in the woods gave me a little anxiety ha ha. The trail itself is OK. There's a lot of cool items set up and multiple emergency exits with the staff. There didn't seem to be enough actors on the trail. For me, it was too many people. If the people in front of you start walking too slow, you catch up to them. The actors jump out at them, not at you. There is a lot of walking that is downhill so be prepared for that. At the end, there was a party atmosphere with music, drinks, food, fire pits, etc. I liked the concept overall, but not great execution. they definitely need more actors on the trail.
