The cake is very good. Great actually but the owner is the rudest most inconsiderate business owner I have dealt with. She made a mistake on a 700.00 cake I ordered and then treated it as if it my error. We had it written on the order, I paid extra for it and I had to prove to her that she didn't do it before she grudgingly agreed to (not refund for the mistake) but give me an almost worthless (gift card). Bought cake there on Wednesday and I must say that she has a young Black guy working that understands customer relation and he has lasted much longer than anyone ever has. He is warm, smiling and courteous...an anomaly in that store. I hate the service and usually swear I'm not going back..,BUT THE CAKE IS EXCEPTIONAL!!!! That keeps me returning. Too good to go review: I ordered through too good to go to try for the first time. I got 4 cupcakes and a strawberry margarita cheesecake slice with my surprise bag order. The cupcakes were strawberry and the cake was moist and on point. The cheesecake was very tart and it lacked density for me. It's one of those smoother silkier cheesecakes which I'm not a big fan of but the taste was good if you like tart. I also bought the cake sampler box because I've dreamed about getting married and doing cake sampling. I'm not getting married yet but I did have an opportunity to sample all the cakes.... #winning!!! Omg... there were so many good ones. My super faves were the almond and the chambord cakes. The flavors were chef's kiss!! You could taste both flavors and they were just so nice. The cake again was moist on all 9 pieces and the frosting on every piece was smooth and delicious. I love this bakery! I used it for my wedding and get cake every year for my anniversary. They are my favorite bakery with so many great flavors and options. My favorite is their almond cake with chambord or white buttercream. I love the chocolate with oreo filling and also the regular white or strawberry cakes with buttercream or chambord. Everything tastes amazing here and the owner and staff are super friendly! They are also very considerate with COVID restrictions. You can still order slices, bakery items, or full cakes online and pick up curbside so without any danger of touching anything. They wear gloves and masks and bring it your car. I have eaten their cupcakes and cakes on several occasions so I chose them to help my husband and I celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. This is a special milestone and so what better way to celebrate than with cake from someone we trust. If you are planning a special occasion and want a custom made cake, please give them plenty of notice. I came in person a few times to discuss my cake and get their feedback before ordering my cake. I sent them a picture by email of my cake design and they helped me make a few changes to eliminate the overload of frosting from the flower design and cost. Why spend the extra money if I would have scooped it off of my cake. Instead, I chose fresh flowers from a florist nearby. Unfortunately for me, I let the flowers sit too long on my cake before snapping a picture so I removed them before taking the picture. We actually ate the cake the next day so it's my mistake. If you are undecided on which cake flavor/frosting, you can purchase a cake test sample of many cakes and frostings. They were all delicious so don't expect this to make your decision making easier. I believe it comes with eight mini squares of cake with the description above each. Enough cake for one or two big bites but this depends on how big your bite is. LOL My husband and I really enjoyed our cake and we are grateful for the hard work and dedication from your staff. Thank you for your suggestions and patience. Creme de la creme is such a sweet shop. I've visited here several times as I tend to always have a sweet tooth. The very first time I visited, I inquired about my wedding cake awhile ago and they seemed to have difficulty with my very intricate design, and tried to deter my from the design. That was fine as I felt that the flavor of their cakes was pretty good. I've tried all except cho olate on chocolate, I believe, and they all taste really fresh. In my most recent visit this week, I felt that although they were busy and really couldn't do the design that I wanted for my birthday cake, Jamie worked with me to get me something. Now, they do up charge for the simplest things but honestly I like their cakes and is willing to pay. I say that, it also want to warn others that their cakes are reealllly sweet. My mother and I chose Creme de la Creme out of the hundreds of bakeries we found in Fort Worth and surrounding areas to make the cake for my wedding because we loved the historical shop, and the lady who owns it was super nice, and very capable. Jamie has a checklist, and a contract. I could tell from the contract, she has had run-ins with some real BRIDEZILLAS!!! Jamie let us come to several different cake-tasting meetings where she prepared different flavor combinations for us. We chose the Italian cream cake with cream cheese filling and white buttercream icing, and pineapple cake with raspberry filling and white buttercream. It was SO wonderful working with Jamie and Creme de la Creme! I was the wedding planner for Grace, who hired her as her baker, and Jamie was wonderful from the get-go. I LOVE these cakes however the customer service has been less than lackluster lately and completely dissatisfying. I always try to place orders online because they sell out so fast, however, I've noticed the flavors online never match with the flavors posted on their instragram so I always try to call to place an order for clarity and verification and they always give me pushback with asking about flavors over the phone and are completely rude. I've had a hard time going back for a while despite years of loving their cakes. The rude employees just aren't worth the trouble anymore. No stars if I could. The first time I came in to Creme de la Creme was during their open house (which I highly recommend coming to one - check their website for times). So I came to this establishment, unaware that their major focus was wedding cakes. It became apparent as soon as we walked through the door. There were fake wedding cakes everywhere. Location - I warn you that this place is located off of 820 in the ghetto. We wrote that off though cause there are some great places to eat, in not so great locations. We circled the block before we could find this place though. We called them to seek clarity. It's right on Lancaster and there are a few street parking spots in the front. We struggled to find the counter/actual bakery area. They have few select items in a display case. There are two shelves within the display case; one row of cup cakes (2 flavors- vanilla and chocolate) and one row of slices of cake (3 flavors - carrot cake, lemon raspberry cake, and a chocolate caramel). We were told that "they get different flavors every week." This confused me since it is a bakery and that statement makes it seem like they order cakes from elsewhere and then just sell them by the slice. THEY DON'T LET YOU CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD UNLESS YOUR TOTAL IS OVER $7, WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. I hate when restaurants have signs like these; it's like they are forcing you to buy more just so that they are covered when it comes to the credit card fees. (Places have these signs so that paying processing fees for charging credit cards are worth it to them.) The raspberry lemon cake was good but there was some moisture around the slices' edges, which kind of tells me that their display case isn't even the slightest refrigeration in the case. It was good but dry in the center. It had a butter cream frosting on the outside of the cake. Between the layers there was raspberry. My friend got the carrot cake, which she liked better. The carrot cake was good and the texture great. Again, NOT SURE IF THEY BAKE THEIR OWN CAKES IN THE DISPLAY due to an earlier worker's comment. We did end up picking them up ourselves because the delivery was going to be expensive, but hey like I said I live in N. Dallas and was getting married in E. Plano. My dad picked up the cupcakes and had no problems at the bakery or getting everything to the venue with no damages. When I first saw the cake it looked exactly like what I has envisioned...it was BEAUTIFUL!! During the reception people kept raving about how delicious the cupcakes were and are still talking about them a week later. Very disappointed - not in the cake but the front end service when trying to place and order. I've had Creme de la Creme's cake before and it was quite delicious. I'll order for our party - not as simple as that sounds, obviously. Today, when I called to get basic information on flavors, size, etc for a simple sheet/layer cake to serve 100 and it was like pulling teeth and beyond frustrating, with no cake ordered. Twice on hold to learn their cake that serves 100 is their 1/2 sheet (17"x25") and recommended serving size is 3x3". That doesn't calculate back as it's only 48 servings at 3x3", so I'd be short over 50 servings. Not that I'd cut them that large, but that's why I asked for clarification on the serving size. For flavor options, I was repeated directed back to their website, being told they offer o50 flavors, of which only 14 are actually listed on the site. After being placed on hold for the 4th time, the updated flavor options were 29 (a lot to choose from actually). She then asked which one did I want to order. I explained I'd like to know what was offered before doing so, and got a snappy response asking if I expected her to read me all 29 flavors... First of I'd like to start off by saying, this USED to be my favorite bakery. I've been coming here for years, placing multiple cake orders. However, this past year every time I go in the store the employees are rude and seem to be bothered by any customer that walks in. Terrible customer service, they don't greet you or even acknowledge you until you get their attention. Not because they're busy, but because they're on their phones right in front of you. My biggest issue happened about 2 weeks ago. My mother ordered a birthday cake for me (knowing this was my favorite bakery). When she went to pick it up the cake, it was white with white writing. How does this make sense? You could barely see the writing because it was the same color as the base. She asked for a white base with pink writing (so you can see the writing). When she asked the employee to write over it with pink icing, the employee rolled her eyes and said no that's what you ordered. My mom left irritated, and just took the cake. Just wait....it gets better! We sing happy birthday and cut the cake, IT'S THE WRONG FLAVOR! This normally wouldn't be a big issue, but the fact that the employees were so rude and the cakes aren't cheap (meaning we would like the $65 that we paid for). We ordered almond and got white. It was my birthday and I didn't even eat the cake because I don't like white cake. A few days after, my mom called the bakery and wanted this issue addressed. The employee was extremely argumentative and offered no kind of reimbursement. Every time my mom would try to talk and explain the issue, the employee would cut her off and talk over her. Even store credit would've been fine, but they weren't sympathetic or caring at all. The employee never even apologized. We have been giving Creme de la Creme our business and support for more than 10 years and they can't even give us any kind of reimbursement. It's truly disappointing. Fabulous cakes here! One of the departments at work always buys cakes from here and I always conveniently have to visit the area when they have a party or potluck. They always order a sheet cake or round with simple decoration or just writing on it. Even then by the time I get there it's 3/4 gone so I can't really comment on the asthetics. Thus far, that I remember, I've tried the red velvet, almond, carrot, strawberry, chocolate, and the coconut. I'm sure they have other more extravagant flavors, but I think my coworkers just stick to the basics. The cakes have always been moist, fluffy, and with the perfect flavoring. I'm not a fan of icing. I always scrape it off- so cake has to be good since it's the only part I eat. Obviously I can't scrape all of it off so I get a little bit- their buttercream is decent- but don't listen to me cause I'm not fond of it. Before I tell you about my experience, let me start by telling you everything wrong with my wedding cake: 1- The writing was terrible/childish and not at all what I asked for, or was quoted. And it had larger writing on the top than on the bottom. 2- The cake topper FELL OFF before the wedding, tumbling down my cake leaving a trail of messed up frosting, because the person who delivered it failed to skewer it in. 3- The cake was supposed to be ivory, not white. The monogram was ivory and did not match the color of the frosting...it looked tacky. 4- The anniversary tier was the wrong flavor. I recently got married in October, and planned the country wedding of my dreams in a beautiful big barn in Mansfield Texas. I am a designer, and designed every detail of my wedding including the cake. I really wanted everything to be perfect (as every bride does) so I researched cake companies in my area (Fort Worth, TX) and came across Creme de la Creme. I got lost looking at all of their cakes on the website, and was sure they could create a cake that would look cohesive with the rest of my wedding. The owner (Jamie) took the photo shopped picture of my cake that I provided, and kept it for reference. I also emailed her a picture of my monogram. Then we discussed price....YIKES! My husband cringed at the thought....$650 for a wedding cake!? I smiled, and told him how hard I had to worked to make things happen and he agreed that the cake was important and we should spend the money to get exactly what we want. Two weeks before the wedding, I met with one of Jamie's employees and went over all final details of the wedding cake. I tasted the pineapple cake that my husband wanted and decided to make that the middle tier. I made sure I told her that I wanted the top and bottom layer to be almond, and only the middle layer to be pineapple. We discussed all other details, and I was excited. I signed the newest contract, paid the remaining balance and left. The wedding day...busy as usual weddings are, I was getting ready when the cake arrived. I only saw the cake for a few seconds before I was whisked away to the back bedroom to hide from my groom. Just minutes later, I hear gasps from all of my brides maids...."The cake topper just FELL OFF!!!" I ran out of the room to see my bridesmaids wide eyed with their hands over their mouths. I took a deep breath, sucked it up and picked up my cake topper. It is then, that I realized it was not even skewered in! The wedding was starting soon, so I pushed it back in myself and fixed it the best I could with a plastic butter knife. I was not only upset that the topper fell off, I was extremely disappointed with the quality. I have seen her do much better work, and truly believe that she slacked on my cake. I know, after looking at all of her other cakes, that this was NOT up to par with what she was known for at all. The cake was delicious I'll give her that, but at a wedding the taste is not all that matters. I would have sacrificed taste for looks any day of the week when it came down to my wedding. I hate to complain, but I felt that she should know that I was disappointed and know everything that went wrong with the cake. So I wrote her an email expressing my disappointment and told her all the problems. She assured me that the cake topper was skewered in by one of her girls, even though I told her it wasn't. I told her the flavors were wrong and she referred to the online order (which she typed) and told me I should have checked it because it had the correct info. I asked to meet up with her to see my original signed copies of my contract and she offered to fax them to me, but would not meet me. How do I know if she changed them or not before she faxed them?! I wanted to see the original. After all that, this is what she offered me to smooth things over, " I will be more then happy to send you a gift card for $22.00 for a 6 inch almond topper for you to order next year. It will be one of our standard cakes." Well, for starters.....I don't want a new cake! That defeats the purpose of the anniversary tier. I want the cake that was at my wedding! Two, it's not a standard cake now! I paid $4.00 a slice for perfection! $22.00 was an insult! I can't even buy a dozen cupcakes for that price! I had to have the photographer photo-shop my cake, and it was the only thing at my wedding that didn't look like it "went" with everything else. If she was more reasonable about giving me a larger credit and admitted that she failed to produce to her best abilities, I would have been reluctant to write such a bad review even though so much went wrong. I'm not going to look at crappy pictures of my wedding cake, I'm going to photo-shop all the crappy writing off of it and put it in my wedding album. I happened into this shop with a friend, having driven by it at least a hundred times on my way to and from Arlington. We were faintly curious about pricing for a birthday cake for her young daughter, though we figured it was a bit out of our price range. We were correct -- Creme de la Creme has a price structure that is pretty standard for bakeries catering to special events but which is a bit pricey for celebrating a third birthday. Even so, we were impressed by the photo samples provided by the owner, Jamie, and the life-size cake replicas. They were beautiful! The interior of the shop was quite pleasant and perfect for what I presume to be the usual customers of the shop: brides who are shopping for cakes. The colors are pink and white, and there are several dainty table & chair sets arranged in the middle of the main room. Early into our visit, we had spied the cupcakes stored behind glass near the cash register. They were lovely and piled high with icing, but my friend and I were a little strapped for cash and knew we shouldn't spend the money. It was another customer who convinced us to splurge. She said they were the best cupcakes she had ever eaten. She was right. The cupcakes were absolutely incredible! My friend and I both got chocolate cupcakes, which sell individually for $2 each. The frosting was dark and delicious, but almost of a whipped consistency, which was quite different from a standard bakery's heavy chocolate buttercream. The cake itself was dense, moist, and perfect in every way. I am a chocolate fiend, and until that day, I had never eaten a cupcake without craving a second (or third...). My multiple-cupcake-eating days have ended, because one chocolate cupcake from Creme de la Creme can totally and completely satisfy my chocolate cravings. We have been back for cupcakes a couple of times since that first visit, but have been unable to bring ourselves to try the vanilla cupcake. I am probably going to do that in the near future just for the sake of science, though it pains me a little to think about going there without getting a chocolate one. Everything about this business speaks of top-notch baked goods and a true dedication to quality service, and if I were the marrying type, I know exactly where my cake would come from. WoW! Thank you so much to CDLC for making me the wedding cake of my dreams! Absolutely beautiful. Another thing I really appreciated was the attention to detail and communication. They called me at least once a week as the wedding approached to remind me of certain things to be dropped off, ie ribbon, paper for the cake board, and flowers to be placed on cake. They were organized, courteous and super talented every step of the way. The cake btw, tasted incredible. I don't remember the exact cost of this beauty that fed over 70 people (not including the topper) but it was under 400. I will forever use CDLC. read more

I was aware that this is mainly a wedding cake place, but I still expected to see more of a variety of cakes and cupcakes on display. From the selections that were displayed, I selected the almond cake with cream cheese filling and it was TO DIE FOR!! This cake was so moist. Some of the best cake that I have ever tasted! The only thing that put me off a little was the fact that I asked for some water and the cashier kind of hesitated as if she could not be bothered, but she did end up getting us 2 glasses of water. While sitting at a table and enjoying my cake, other customers came in and requested items not in the display case and she went to the back to get them, like strawberry cake! I was under the impression that everything that was left was on display but that was not the case. I guess because the case is so small that they can only display a few items. If you look at the board for the flavors of the day they will be able to tell you what is still available. The cakes looked absolutely beautiful and if I lived in the area, I would definitely get a custom cake from here. read more

Poor Customer Service!!! Order cake went to pay and they were close for emergency. Called and left phone number as instructed to do and no one ever called back. Went Tuesday hoping they still made cake since they were the ones that closed early Saturday. I was wrong and no one there seemed to care, called back to speak to supervisor and she care less. All around poor experience. read more
