We ordered as to-go items: - Two decaf coffees - Slice of Cherry Bomb cherry pie - Slice of Smooth Operator chocolate pie I loved the richness of my Smooth Operator pie. My wife liked her cherry pie but was not fond of the crust. She wishes they had more variety in non-chocolate options. Had lunch nearby and had heard about this place. We needed some pie in our life. I got the chess + Nutella and my wife had the Key Lime. She gave hers 8/10; mine was 7.5/10. We love this place, it's a must visit any time we are in the area (we live in Austin). They always have at least one gluten free flavor and they rotate their seasonals pretty often. I've heard about this place for years but have never ventured to check it out until now. This location is near Southside Main in FW. Parking is limited to street parking, which is free for 2 hours, or any of the nearby paid lots. Luckily we must've missed any rush since we found parking pretty easily this time. Inside isn't too large of a space but no issues for us to find seating since, again, it wasn't too busy when we arrived. It's a cute, simple space and kept pretty clean. We ordered the pumpkin pie with whipped cream - and bit pricey for one slice but understandable for this particular area. It was really good! Both the pie and whipped cream were not too sweet, plus the crust had a good spice and still soft. The staff told me that they have seasonal flavors so we may be back to try them again in the future based on that flavors are rotating through. read more

I visited a friend in Fort Worth a few weeks ago. On one of the days I was there, we stopped in Emporium pies for a quick snack. We've walked by here several times and quite honestly, were too full from dinner to stop. Tonight we saved room so we could "split a slice". Well that plan didn't happen. As soon as we walked in the aroma sucked us in and we just knew that we would have to try two different slices. The two employees were so pleasant and helpful. When you look around it makes you feel like you're in grandmas kitchen inside. So we chose a slice of the apple pie and the blackberry. If you like a good homemade crust, then this is the place for you. The slices are huge and the crust is flaky and very tasty. I loved the tons of apples in my huge slice. The apples were sweet but not too too much. My wife loved her blackberry. It was a tiny bit too rich for me but tasted really good. Crust wasn't as tender and buttery as I like and the filling was very heavy on the cinnamon. I felt that the cinnamon overtook the flavor of the fruit which I wasn't too fond of. I came here on a recommendation from a friend and got 3 pies to try (2 slices, 1 whole). I had the Bonnie + Pie'd, Smooth Operator and the Nutty Honey. The service was amazing but I was a bit disappointed by how small the slices were for the price! The Smooth Operator slice was actually incredibly small... I wish I had included the fork in the photo for a size comparison! I also had the iced coffee, which was pretty good for a pie place. The inside is really cute as well, but they do not have public Wi-Fi. this place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I was craving a pie for the longest time, and the place around my house doesn't sell individual slices at the moment. Came here right when they opened at 11am, and got a slice of the key lime pie. I think they rotate their selection daily or on a weekly basis. The slice was fairly small for ~$9 bucks, but the flavors were really amazing. I enjoyed the tartness from the lime and graham cracker crust was delicious. This little pie shop is in trendy Southside Fort Worth right on Main Street, a quiet respite amongst all the bustle. I know it gets busy in here as well, but the vibes remain cool and calm. There are a handful of comfortable tables and chairs if you want to hang out awhile, order a cappuccino, and enjoy a slice or two. The menu is pie and coffee, really that's it! The chocolate silk pie is gluten free and absolutely delicious, made with the richest, most insanely smooth chocolatey filling and a satisfyingly salty pretzel crust. I truly regret not taking pictures. I ordered four slices: Smooth Operator, Lord of the Pies, Buttermilk and Bonnie & Pie'd. My sole complaint is the weird little wooden forks. The tines are too short and too close together, which is literally a first world problem. Each pie was absolutely delicious. The apple pie was perfectly spiced, not too sweet, and the apples were sliced thinly adding to the melt in your mouth texture. The Smooth Operator was my favorite with the satiny dark chocolate cream and a pretzel crust. The buttermilk, although not ever my favorite, had a nice firm and buttery texture that I was pleasantly surprised by. It was a great balance of both butter custard and sweetness. The Bonnie & Pie'd was better after I let it come to room temperature and the combo of coffee and chocolate felt both rich and delicate. The slices are $8 each and I think they may actually be worth the price. I can see myself enjoying this sweet treat for lunch from time to time. read more

I usually like each pie i've tasted from this company. I was a bit disappointed with the key lime pie i tried. Key lime pie is sour which is why you need a big serving of whipped cream with it. This had a dollop. not enough to be a good pie:whipped cream ratio. Hopefully in the future, they will take into consideration.
