Hidden in a small little plaza in Concord, this Caribbean cuisine gem is a must stop if you're in the area! The food is hot and fresh, looking absolutely immaculate, with AMAZING CHEAP PRICES FOR THE PORTION! They make their own hot sauce, serve a side of coleslaw and serve it all over a bed of rice and beans. Overall, a clean establishment, polite customer service and a revisit worthy spot. Been waiting to try Nina's for a while, and took the time today to drive along highway 7 for some take out. As of writing, due to COVID-19 measures take out is the only option, and we were quickly served. We decided to split a goat and a chicken roti wrap, along with a medium order of oxtail and rice to share amongst the three of us. The roti wraps were stuffed with no shortage of protein. They were hearty and filling, with some trace bones in the chicken. You also have the option for the hot sauce on the side, which was a good choice as without knowing beforehand it is always wise to try it first. The oxtail came in smaller pieces and were quite boney. You are given a generous scoop into of rice. More than enough to share with leftovers for later. You are also given a comp coleslaw which us a nice touch. Overall, the total was about $35.00 which is fairly decent value. For the wrap itself, seemed a bit dowey to Aneals' in Richmond Hill, which may come out on top overall. Walking in its a clean establishment and the food is all laid out there in front of you for you to choose from. I had the jerk chicken. The flavours were good especially the rice and peas which she offered the oxtail gravy on. It was spot on and packed with flavour once it was soaked in the sauce. The woman working there said she recommends the oxtail gravy with the rice and peas and curry goat gravy with the white rice. The chicken itself was a little overcooked but the flavours were all there and it was very tender as a result and easily separated from the bone. The homemade hot sauce had quite a kick to it, adding a good dose of spice to the chicken but not much flavour otherwise which is okay since the chicken is flavourful enough by itself. The coleslaw was nice but not too special. The only other addition I would have and why I took a point off is that the tables were sticky for no reason. I think it had something to do with the varnish used. I could say that I would recommend this place if you are stopping for a quick lunch. read more

Nice local spot for times when you are craving some curry goat with rice. It's in small plaza on Highway 7 and caters to local businesses and take outs. I usually get the curry goat roti but went with curry goat with rice. A medium goes for about $13.50 including tax but you get 3 lbs of food. Box of rice with beans with a bed of tender flavourful curry goat on top. Goat pieces are on the bone, but that makes it even more flavourful. It's enough to feed 2-3 people. Also come with a nice cole slaw and a small container of hot sauce. Maybe you can take the spice, as the hot sauce has some serious heat. On a friend's recommendation, we decided to order from Nina's via Ubereats. I didn't expect much, I mean, it's a restaurant in concord how good could it be? But it pretty much blew me away. We ordered the fried chicken and jerk chicken dinners. Both come with rice and beans, with a side of coleslaw and your choice of fried dumpling, plantains, or patties. We got the patties. The fried chicken was crispy and even delicious the next day when I ate it cold with some maple syrup. The jerk chicken was flavourful, and went really well with the little side of hot sauce they included. By the way, that hot sauce is HOT, so a little goes a long way... The coleslaw was creamy and delicious. The patties were juicy and spicy (and of course flakey). Can't wait to order from here again. read more

Wow - My first time there today and I must say that overall this place and its food is highly recommended. I got the large jerk chicken for $10.95. This came with 2 chicken leg quarters, a very healthy portion of beans and rice, your choice of "sauce" (curry, jerk, goat meat etc), coleslaw and hot sauce. Very filling for the price. Although I would have to say the meat is a bit dried out, given it may have been sitting there pre heated for a while, the rice was a bit chunky, and it didn't quite pack as much heat as I was hoping for. The staff were friendly and the service was quick and easy. I ordered a veggie roti for takeout and paid $8 (with tax) which I thought was a good price. I was surprised at how large and how heavy the container was. That is, until I got home and opened it. The roti consisted almost solely of whole chick peas. The curry flavour was there but it was not the main component as all I could taste was chick peas. Overall, I was very disappointed and found this roti to be bland and not to my liking. Defiantly a hole in a wall, up in the industrial boonies. It's quite the trek for those that don't work or live nearby, due to constructions on HWY7 and traffic. I dropped by around 4pm and they were already running low on oxtail. Even though they are opened till 8pm, so I'm assuming most of their clientele are there for lunch from nearby warehouses/factories. That said, their oxtail curry on rice was delicious. Hands down best dumplings I've ever had. Jerk chicken ordered with rice and peas in point almost made me forget all the others I've tried. The oxtail sauce on top is a favourite in our office and it's much anticipated that everyone is in board when it comes to ordering from here. I ordered two whole red snapper and food and instead got one whole and two fillets, no food whatsoever..after I tried the whole snapper I decided to not even bother calling them to complain as the food wasnt good enough to be worth the hassle I am not slamming them, they are a solid 3/5 on food taste, the rice and peas was done well, the coleslaw was decent, the brown stew fish was way too sweet but I am guessing the cut down the spice for the local demographic so it makes sense I am also reasonably certain that aside from their lack of soup diversity that the rest of the menu is done pretty well.
