Crescent Cleaners is hands down the best dry cleaner I've been to. I've been taking clothes there since we moved from the city almost a year ago, and not only do they do a superb job every time, but their customer service is unparalleled. Everyone goes the extra mile whenever I come in, including helping me get clothes to and from the car whenever my toddler is with me and I definitely need the extra hands. The owner is great and has personally helped me to the car on more than one occasion. I've brought heavily stained items, designer pieces, and fragile clothes, and they always come back to me looking better than ever for a very competitive price and with a speedy turnaround. Just last week I brought in my grandfather's Burberry rain coat; it had gotten some odd stains on it during our move. It's the only remaining item I have of my grandfather's, and I was so afraid of such a sentimental piece being ruined in the cleaning process that I delayed bringing it in for far too long. I explained the situation, and the way they carefully inspected the jacket with the utmost care demonstrated how thoughtful and trustworthy they are. I was in a bind and needed a last minute favor. I travel to Stamford for my mother-in-law's funeral and my suit was a wreck. The guys at Crescent could not have been more helpful. Their guy stuck around and waited for me and then pressed my suit while I waited. On top of that they refused to charge me. SEE THE PHOTO OF THE TAILOR UP HERE? HE WAS SO RUDE! I brought in a pair of fairly new jeans that cost $150.00+ that needed repairs (stretchy material tends to thin out-- not unusual). I tried to patch it myself (the traditional "iron on" patch method), but it didn't work. I brought the pants in and the tailor was demanding I rip the patch off to see the repairs necessary. I explained I couldn't without ripping them more (the glue needed to be heated). He glared at me and responded, "I can't fix them, just go out and buy a new pair!" I was mortified, (picture the GIF of the white cat with his jaw hanging open here)! I told the staff --- she gave me a helpless look. So, I went on YouTube. I learned that you CAN repair them EASILY! I went to Goodwill. Bought an $8 pair of new shorts in the exact same color and stretchy material. I sewed in the piece I extracted from the material as instructed, lo and behold it worked PERFECTLY! Woohoo! I put $150 bucks back in my pocket, SCORE! :-) I was a good, faithful customer and I came back 2x to meet the tailor, Michael LaVecchia, to be treated like I am not an educated, business owner myself for 18+ years. I'm thrilled your other customers were treated with respect and appropriateness. Maybe Michael could use a few lessons on customer service and a can-do attitude. I wouldn't ever want to insult his expertise, but this was a ridiculously EASY fix and a petite, 118 lbs. woman doesn't need to be spoken to that way, ever. read more

I asked him the price to dryclean each item and he couldn't explain me, and then when I told him that it's your store how can you not know, he asked me to take my clothes back in an extremely insulting way. I'm relatively new to the area and tried out a few dry cleaners before I found Crescent. What originally attracted me was the reasonable pricing. Some of the closer cleaners charge double the price on some items and for someone that uses this service on a weekly basis, price matters. Besides price is obviously quality. Every single piece of clothing I've brought in has come back to me exactly how it should look and in no more than 2 days time. I believe in spending money on good quality clothing and knowing that when I bring my clothes there, it is not sacrificing that is important to me. Last but not least, their customer service is impeccable. I get an email every time my clothes are ready to pick up, when I walk in I get greeted within seconds and Frank greets me by name. The shirts continue to be folded up at the bottom upon completion. My fiancé has asked them several times to fix this and it has not been fixed. I just had over 50 shirts dry cleaned and at least 5 of them had the same issue. Unfortunately now I am going to have to find another place that can better service me. read more

My first time using this cleaner. Moderately priced, but the dry cleaning job is Quality. Pants, blazer, and coat came back crispy new! This is the most unprofessional, poorly run excuse for a business I have ever encountered. I am disgusted. I spoke with Frank this morning after sending in my white blazer for a cleaning - which his "company" not only didn't clean, but managed to destroy in the process. It is now too small to fit me. I have no idea what they did to it. When I got on the phone with Frank and said I could not pay for what he did to my jacket, he told me to throw it in the trash. Our apartment complex arranges for pickup and delivery with Crescent, and since we are somewhat new to the area, I figured we'd try them out. In the last 6 months I've sent 4 pieces to them for cleaning, and each of them has come back with a spot that wasn't there when I sent them out. One of my shirts had a large wrinkle down the front where the shirt had clearly been wrinkled when they pressed it, and it had a number of water spots near the seam. I decided to give them one last try, and this morning I put my light charcoal pants on, which, lo and behold, now have a dark spot in the thigh. This was, of course, not there when I sent it out. I have been living in Stamford for 7 years and have been through all of the local dry cleaners. My judge on dry cleaners is how issues are resolved, and I always hear the same thing, "it's not my fault!" I had a recent issue with my fiances pants and Frank at crescent cleaners did research, provided me a letter to take back to the retailer and ultimately got full credit for the pants that were ruined, with the manufacturer being at fault. Frank was caring and proactive. They pick up and drop off and for the past two years had zero problems, other this one which was resolved 100% to my satisfaction. In my opinion Crescent is head and shoulders ahead of the others. read more

The staff is friendly and the service is above and beyond. There have been times where I have walked in at 10am and told them I needed what i brought them as soon as possible (always hoping for next day) Their answer is always "is after 3 today ok?" they do a perfect job, always looking to go above and beyond, and the prices are very fair compared to their competitors. After getting instructions about how to communicate desired cleaning and minor alterations they proceeded to ruin a $400 sweater and blamed it on the customer after they washed the sweater causing the dye in the paper to permanently stain the sweater. After paying Greenwich and downtown Stamford prices for dry cleaning (typically $21 or more per two-piece suit) and sometimes having to wait an extra day beyond the cited time frame, we were ready to shop around for better service and pricing for my husband's business attire. I hesitantly called this business to inquire about pricing and delivery services. The proprietor, Frank, kindly answered all my questions and did not slander his competitors, unlike some previous experiences I had with dry cleaners in the 06901 and 06902 zip codes. When I dropped off my first order of four men's suits, I was pleasantly surprised that they offered a generous discount as a first-time customer as a thanks for mentioning that I read about this business on Yelp. The young lady at the service desk was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. The dry cleaning was delivered to me exactly when promised and looked impeccable. Upon returning to the cleaners for a second drop-off two weeks later, Frank met me at the bottom of the stairs at the entrance while I was carrying a baby and four more heavy suits. He graciously offered to carry the clothing for me, held the door and even remembered that we spoke on the phone nearly a month prior despite having never met me before. Perhaps I am a bit jaded having lived in Fairfield County now for four years, but I just never receive that kind of wonderful customer service anywhere here. These folks are the dry cleaner where everybody knows your name. I paid higher prices at a place in Darien for years and I don't think anyone ever greeted me by name or smiled when I came in like the folks at Crescent. My husband often wants a pile of stuff cleaned "same day" : I drop off before 9 and then receive an email mid to late afternoon telling me all is ready. Quality is great. I also store winter coats with them, and have them clean my heirloom tablecloths. Michael the tailor is also very good - he is now my go to person for hems and repairs. Highly recommend. read more

This review is solely for the tailoring service as I have not used this location for dry cleaning just yet. I was in need of hemming my jeans as I believe I may have shrunk over the years ;p I called quite a few places and Crescent was the friendliest and had a very fair price. I spoke with Mike and told him I would arrive later in the afternoon but well before closing. As luck would have it, I wound up arriving 15 minutes before closing and Mike was not concerned. He was very patient as I tried on all 5 pairs of jeans. He knows what he is doing and it shows as all of the jeans came out great. I am surprised by some of the reviews I have read because I continue to use Crescent on a weekly basis and none of those things ever happened to me. I wear business dress on a daily basis and so I have a lot of cleaning and everything always comes back in pristine condition. In fact, I sent a dress in two weeks ago that had a hem which was coming undone. I forgot to call in to ask them to mend it but they took care of it without my asking.
