It's apparent that they have a set format that they follow to ascertain what your needs and wants are in order to provide you with the various options to meet those needs. If our sales rep did not know the answer to a question, she promptly inquired with a supervisor to find the answer. We were encouraged to try various mattresses in the store that met our criteria to help us make a final decision. After returning home to take some final measurements, we returned the following day to make the purchase. As should be expected, an effort was made to up-sale certain accessories and services. None were unreasonable, however. A holiday sale was in progress, so we were able to obtain a free adjustable base, and a free mattress protector, in addition to the $500 reduction in the cost of the queen size mattress. While delivery to the front door would have been free, we opted for the platinum service at a sale price of $120, which included removal of the old mattress and base, and setup of the new adjustable base and mattress. The day before the agreed upon delivery date, a text message was sent to our cell phone identifying a 2-hour window within which we could expect delivery on the following day. On the delivery date, a text message and an email were received, within the 2-hour window, to let us know that the delivery truck was approximately 20 minutes away. The delivery staff were on time, efficient, and very careful with the removal of the old mattress and base, and the setup of the new base and mattress. Nothing negative to report.

"Inspector" came, inspected mattress and while sliding his aluminum level over surface {leaving black marks} to measure depression he agreed that there was a problem with the mattress. He then took pictures of the mattress, sent them to the company and told me I should hear from them within a couple of days. About 2 weeks later I received a FORM letter denying warranty as there was a stain on the mattress {from his aluminum level}. I tried several times to contact the company and no one would return my call. With the testing method used and the form letter denial it seems pretty obvious that's how they treat customers, with a worthless warranty.

On the day of delivery, the drivers took one look at our stairs and declared that they couldn't bring the box spring to our bedroom. They brought the new mattress upstairs and put the box spring back on the truck. The new mattress was way too high off the ground for us as it was sitting on our bed frame instead of the base we had paid $750 for. After a week of trying to sleep on the giant mattress we decided it wasn't working. We went back to Metromattress (where there was an entire new staff). They had no record of our delivery not working. We explained what happened and ordered a less thick mattress. The new mattress came and the old one was taken away. There was an $800 difference between the first expensive mattress and the second less-expensive mattress. When my bill came, I saw that we hadn't been refunded ANY money (they owed us over $1200) I went back to the store where another NEW person was in charge. He had to call NY to see if he could give us the money back. Apparently, no one in this company knows what they are doing. Mythical headquarters had to be called. Two days later I was told I was being refunded for the box spring and protection plan. Three weeks later it finally showed up on my credit card. However, I still wasn't refunded the difference in mattress prices. $700!!!! I went back again...the first person who rigged our exchange due to MM's delivery people not being able to deliver the foundation, overcharged us for the new mattress! I wanted my money back. It was determined that I was still owed $200.01 but that didn't appear on my stattement. I went back to the store yet again. This time I put steel in my voice and said that if I wasn't refunded the difference I'd go public with my problems. They refused to credit me the $200 and instead made up something about a "$100 exchange fee" for the mattress (which again was only exchanged because they couldn't deliver the frame they were supposed to), and offered to give me a $100 store credit to use on anything I wanted to in their store. No one in this store seems to know what they are doing. They keep calling NY state and talking to Gene, who then has to call HQ. Very poorly run, poor customer service, and I will be contacting the AG of Connecticut to talk about how MetroMattress has given me the runaround and basically swindled me.

I happened to be in Big Lots on Saturday and the mattress store called me and said they couldn't deliver it by Sunday anymore (although they promised). Big lots had a mattress set for half of what they were charging, plus I had a coupon which was a big saving especially after just moving. The associates were helpful, reliable and went out of their way to assist. The mattress was too big for my SUV so they had a local company that picks up and delivers furniture and they were able to pick up my set and deliver it. Whenever I'm in the store they are always helpful they are the epitome of great customer service.
