Making any kind of big purchase can be fraught and stressful. You want to get a good deal, but it's like the people selling the things are trying to make that as difficult as possible. But I'm happy to say that getting our mattress at Mattress Xpress was probably the most pleasant "big purchase" shopping experience I've had. The showroom is absolutely massive, and no one was hanging around, watching our every move as we tried them out. We did meet Karl, and he directed us to some we'd like and answered any questions we had, but he mostly let us figure it out for ourselves, which was great because we were probably there for 1.5 hours going back and forth between our favorites. We ended up getting a great deal on a king size latex mattress. And even though it was one of the most expensive mattresses in their store, it was sooo much less than what you'd pay for a latex mattress elsewhere, and even less than a mid-range mattress at a big name store. We used to come back from traveling wishing that our bed at home was as comfortable as one in a hotel. Now that's reversed and our bed at home is more comfortable than any hotel.

She answered all of my questions that day and later in several emails. I was allowed to borrow 10 fabric samples to take home which helped me make a decision. I was able to place my order by phone which was very good. My furniture was arrived at Bassett two weeks ahead of the projected date. It was delivered 6 days before Thanksgiving which was perfect since I was hosting for the holiday. The delivery was flawless from competence of delivery men to setting up the furniture.
