The owner is as rude as can be. The new tailor doesn't speak English and while the staff can communicate with him, and they are lovely, it's still hard. As I drove home, I realized the back seam hadn't been pinned and when I called, the owner told me Mr. Jesus would know what to do. I wanted to clarify that I didn't want it taken in a uniform amount because then it would be too tight when it reached my hips. She LOST it on me, yelled about it being prom season, she didn't have time for this and I needed to think about if I wanted them to do the work. Then she hung up on me. I called back Monday morning thinking she would have calmed down. Screamed again. I told her to forget it. Oh, and she wanted to charge $75 to take in an elastic waistband on sweatpants that didn't cost close to $75. Never stepping foot in there again. They don't appreciate their customers, are rude, and overpriced. And the last time I had an alteration by Mr. Jesus, it had to be fixed. Don't ask why I even considered going back. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! Their tailor destroyed my brand new Emilio Pucci dress. He was supposed to hem the length of the dress. When I went to pick it up the hem was mangled, completely uneven and dirty (see photos of the horrible work and staining.) The owner claimed she would come in and make things right that day, but when I returned she was not there and did not respond to multiple text messages. At this point, if they do not refund me for the dress, I am stuck dealing with it in court. Just a horribly run establishment with no oversight. read more

I recently purchased a purple shearling coat that I accidentally stained. I choose to take my coat to Crest Cleaners and could not have been happier with my choice. They were gentle with my coat and mindful that I did not want to have the entire coat cleaned (unless it was the ONLY option of removing the stain). They were quick to take care of the stain and I really appreciate how cost effective they were. I will absolutely be reusing them again for my dry cleaning needs and highly recommend them to anyone else! read more

My family has been Crest customers for many years. I walked in today and owner was in the front not wearing a mask. When I asked her to put one on, she refused. I understand it may be hot in the back, but this was in front dealing directly with customers, where it wasn't particularly hot. A couple of customers are were wearing masks. This is in violation of NYS Order requiring all retail store employees to wear masks. I no longer feel safe and my family will no longer be bringing our business to Crest Cleaners. read more

I had my daughters Communion dress cleaned and preserved with Crest a while back and they did a fantastic job. We are a big family & haven't had power due to Hurricane Isaias so I called to see if they also laundered clothes- they do!! - they also pick up and deliver with a quick turnaround of one day. Weeks before I had scheduled a donation pick up with the Vietnam Vets of America. I had emailed VVA the description of our donations along with where to pick up (5 lawn and leaf bags and one box all labeled " Donation" on the FRONT PORCH). I left my house to grab lunch the same time Crest Cleaners dropped off our clothes in clear unmarked bags in front of door- unfortunately, VVA came shortly after and not only took our labeled bags but also took our clothes that were unlabeled and NOT on our porch. I frantically called Crest to see if in fact the clothes were delivered confirming a nightmare that lasted the whole day. I called multiple numbers for the Vets and was met with rude unhelpful people that gave me the run around - However Crest Cleaners sprung into action as well, calling and sending emails to help me find our clothes- they even sent a driver ALL the WAY to VVA's headquarters first in Central Islip and THEN Centereach. If not for their help I wouldn't have my family's clothes back!! The people that work here not only run a fantastic dry cleaning business with great quality and care but they also go out of their way for a relatively new customer. I'm forever grateful and will ONLY use Crest Cleaners in the future. A business that actually cares for their customers. read more

I didn't even want to give this place one star, but I had to to get to this part. I CAN'T comment on the dry cleaning here. I CAN comment on the tailoring. If you're thinking of taking your tailoring here RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION -- RUN FAST!!! THIS WAS THE WORST TAILORING EXPERIENCE EVER. SHE KEPT PULLING THE CLOTHES, TELLING ME THAT THE PROBLEM WAS MY BODY, NOT HER SHODDY WORK!!! What's the point of tailoring? Isn't it to make the clothes fit your body??? The "tailor" here is by far the worst, and mouthiest tailor I've ever encountered. read more

Worst experience ever! Brought my daughters communion dress to be re-altered because the first person did not do a great job. I was unable to drop the dress off due to my work schedule and the tailors schedule, so my husband brought my daughter and the dress. She pinned the dress and gave my husband a receipt. when I looked at the receipt it said I could pick it up after Thursday but there was no price. The last guy charged me $25, I thought that Vera would charge me the same or at the most $60 because I know she does good work. I go back on Saturday morning and the dress still had to be steamed. I ask the manager to call me when Vera gets in and to tell me how much. She calls me at 11:30am telling me that Vera will be in at 12:30pm and the dress will cost $130!!!!! I tell the manager that I am not paying that and that I will speak to Vera at 12:30pm. WELL... NEVER in my my life was I treated so disrespectfully. Essentially, First, Vera asked me why I came so early and I told her the receipt said the dress would be ready after Thursday. Her reply was that she told my husband Saturday afternoon and don't we talk? She asked me, "do you and your husband live together? "The nerve!!!!! I was then bullied and Vera basically held the dress hostage, taking it "into the back to be pressed" as soon as I told her that the dress cost me $150 and I was not going to pay $130 in alterations. She kept walking away from me as I was speaking. Then I told her that I had a $100 bucks cash on me and I would give it to her. She replied "no, I won't do it for less than $120." The manager just stood there and said she is a independent contractor and let her behave that way. I left to get more money. When I returned I told Vera, who kept going on and on about her work -- that it was not her work I was questioning but her WORK ETHIC and I told the manager that she still reflects Crest Cleaners, and I would never come back here again. I have told dozens of people in the neighborhood, all of whom used Crest and are no longer going to. The worse experience ever and a very rude woman!! read more
