I needed to find a place that would do a good job at dry cleaning my winter coat - which was filled with cat hair and, I'm sure, many people's germs from various grocery store trips and walks about town. I've zipped by this place many times, and after searching for places nearby with hours that I can pick up after work hours and pay with card (I rarely ever carry cash these days), I landed on Executive Cleaners. And hey, they have a little parking lot which made it just even more convenient. Dropping off my coat was a breeze and the very nice gentleman let me know if you would three days to pick it up. Sure, great, no rush as it's no longer winter. He wore a mask, was polite, and the store appeared to have good social distancing policies in place which is very important to me. When I went to pick up my coat, it was a different story. The same man was there to help me retrieve my coat and he was masked p, but an employee standing behind him did not have a mask-- wasn't even holding one, and didn't have the decency to move to the back. I stood at the back of the store the entire time and only walked up to hand over my card and pick up my coat. Would give ZERO stars if allowed! Comforter brought in for cleaning, came outlooking worse. White cotton comforter brought in for cleaning, $45.00 charge so expected good work. When brought home and opened bag, the center, not visible , was beige , no longer white. Brought back to cleaners who took no ownership of their work, said it was "human oils" and even" if" they tried to repeat the cleaning it would not improve. If they had mentioned this potential issue/risk when I brought it in, then I might not have gone ahead with cleaning or would have not been so surprised by the result. there is absolutely nothing to brag about this place. I came here to get some things sowed onto my uniform sleeves and I got em back crooked and uneven. Ok so I won't get shit sown here then. How about a cleaning? Took a few shirts here and some jeans. Pointed out the stains (that were easily removable) and I got em back with the stains still in tacked. I mentioned it and they said there's nothing they can do.... I scratched it off as it was dry and it came off. The look on their faces were priceless. Ok, no cleaning... Howwwww about a press? Took a pair of jeans here. 2 actually. Told em to press one, and just starch the other for I wanted to keep the original crinkles. They did the opposite. And ruined my $300 pair of diesel jeans. Phenomenal service, great prices, and really sweet people. We had them dryclean a peacoat that had recently had a button break off. The button was in the coat pocket. Can you believe that, when we got the coat back, they had sown the button back on AND DIDN'T EVEN MENTION IT. No charge. No fuss. They just did it for us without us even needing to ask. I went into Executive Cleaners with a brand new shirt to be laundered. The reason I went there is to try a new cleaner and also I wanted to have the shirt starched and ready to wear. The shirt was BRAND NEW! I wear custom made clothing and I am meticulous about my clothes. I went back to pick up the shirt and lo and behold----- some type of stain on the collar in plain view! I pointed the stain out to the employees and they used the standard argument---- the shirt was brought in like that. I replied in a calm manner that the shirt was literally new and how could it be that way. Another employee behind the counter told me "not to be disrespectful". The first employee brought the shirt into the back of the store to be looked at. A boss came out a minute later with the shirt and said " I brought the shirt in like that". Basically I was being accused of bringing in a damaged shirt to be cleaned knowing that it couldn't be cleaned properly. Meanwhile there were not one but TWO different people waiting for their respective cleaning orders to pick up and apparently the reason they were waiting is they were missing pieces from their cleaning. Well normally I don't like to disparage a business but in this case I feel I must point this out. Not even that they would try to clean my shirt again. It seems that this reply from the boss is the standard comeback from cleaners because a friend of mine told me about his experience with another cleaner in Queens where he lives. I really don't understand this type of behavior in business owners because if they want to keep their business going maybe they should try to help their customers instead of brushing them off. Needless to say I am NOT happy with my experience with Executive Cleaners. Instead of standing there arguing with the owner I walked out and I promise that I will call Nassau County Consumer Affairs about this incident. I suggest to anyone who uses this cleaner to be careful with what you bring to them and take photos of your cleaning before you drop it off to be cleaned. I'm sure there are other people who have no problems with them SO FAR but beware! ------- it's the standard response------ the item was brought into the store in that condition!! I don't gamble at all but I'll be willing to bet money that this has happened to many people with their cleaning all over New York.
