Breakfast sandwich- Salt bagel with egg, cheese, and turkey
    Lucy T.

I really wanted to like this place cause I love bagels and breakfast food, but it just doesn't hit the mark for me! When you get inside, the building is very old and dated. It's probably been here a long time and in need of renovation. There were croissant crumbs everywhere on the floor. It really needed to be swept. I ordered the salt bagel and got egg, cheese, and turkey inside. The bagel was super salty as the name suggests, and while I'm usually someone who likes a lot of salt, that was just too much. I won't be getting it again.

Crestline Bagel is the ideal Saturday morning bite. With a line out the door, and bins of bagels galore, Crestline Bagel had the aesthetics of a busy New York bagel shop, AND the service was still on point. We got a nova lox bagel and used their coffee bar. While comparing this to a NYC bagel shop may be unfair, this was still excellent. The lox tasted fresh and the toppings were well balanced. The bagel, while not as fluffy as NY's finest, had excellent bite and crumb. The everything seasoning hit the spot as well. The coffee bar wasn't anything to write home about, but the coffee wasn't burnt and there were several customization options. Highly recommend this spot for a quick bite!

First time here. My sandwich was good but the guy behind the counter was kind of rude and we got a moldy fruit salad. The guy acted like we should already know their options and wasn't helpful. He didn't mention we get a side with our sandwiches so we went back in after someone outside said they got one. After going back to get sides, I noticed white dots and green mold spot on the fruit. Would have been stoked on this place if not for getting that dude with a side of mold

Bagels so good I went twice in one weekend. I was in town for a music festival and tried out Crestline on a Friday morning. It wasn't too busy, we placed our orders at the counter. I went with a egg brekkie sammich on a Salt bagel. I don't know that I've ever had a salt bagel before but now I'm obsessed. I love salt and this gives you All. The. Salt. So dang good. I also ordered a latte, they have almond milk and I believe soy as milk alternatives. Not the best coffee ever, but this is a bagel shop after all. On Sunday, I had to come back for that salt bagel and just went classic with cream cheese and I appreciated the thickness of application. I hate when bagel places give you like paper thin cream cheese. This was thick and perfect. Now I want another one.

I had not been to Crestline Bagel for several years, and I decided to visit for lunch on my day off during Birmingham Restaurant Week. I was surprised and glad that they had a lot of other options besides bagels. Bagels are good, but at the same time, a bagel is a bagel. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich on focaccia bread with a fruit cup and a ganache brownie. I also ordered a gingerbread man to go. The food was delicious, and I also took half to go. They have a few tables inside, but they also have outside seating if you prefer. The staff was friendly, but parking can be a problem. Depending on the day, you may have to park and walk.

The James Biscuit. Taste cinnamon some how, rather have McMuffin. $7 for big sandwich though. 4/10 recommend.

Such a cute little cafe in mountain brook! I enjoy the vibes and atmosphere. Also the food is phenomenal. The baked goods are always fresh and you can even see how they make their bagels. Their service also matches the quality of their food. They serve one of the best potato salads in Birmingham. Not only that, but their coffee and lates are also delicious. 5 stars all around!

I got a wheat bagel with egg white, tomato, and cheddar! So so yummy. Service was great and this will definitely be a go to!

Okay bagels. Not great service. Bagels are 50% of my breakfast foods. I love bagels. Crestline's bagels aren't bad. They're fine. I got the sweet onion bagel with nova, plain cream cheese, capers, and tomato. The nova isn't made in house, but that's pretty typical of these smaller bagel shops. I did find the variety of bagels and schmears to be pretty limited. I'm not a fan of messing with bagels - no pizza bagels or blueberry bagels for me. So I found their savory options fairly limited. They don't have much beyond the basics. My issues with Crestline weren't the bagels themselves, but the design of the shop and the service. You order basically right where you enter the door, so there's no where to wait if you're further back in line than, say, four people. In addition, there's nowhere to go while you wait for your bagel. It's crowded and not well thought out. Also, the employee making my bagel could not remember what I ordered. I think she asked me three times. Which meant I had to keep leaving my seat to go up to the counter to tell her again. She might have just been having a bad day, but the system clearly wasn't working. Maybe the orders should be written down somewhere? Maybe one person takes orders, writes them down, and then hands it to someone who then makes it? Crestline offers decent bagels. It's a limited offering of cream cheese and bagel flavors, and the service and restaurant has some issues. It's a place I wouldn't mind going back to, but it's definitely not a place I would go out of my way for.

Had a garlic bagel with nova. Tomato was very thinly sliced so it added moisture without disrupting the star (nova). Excellent all around.

However, I headed over there to meet a friend for breakfast today. When I visited in the past, I was met with annoyingly long lines, but I got lucky today and didn't have to stand in line since I missed the breakfast rush. They have a menu with a wide variety of things to choose from, but they're mostly known for their bagel breakfast sandwiches, so I ordered the bacon and cheddar egg sandwich. The employee at the counter was nice and put in my order quickly. My food only took 5 minutes until it was ready for me to collect. My sandwich was not the most flavorful, but it was hot and neatly put together. I got the Santa Fe breakfast sandwich the last time I was there, and I loved it, so I'd recommend that instead of mine today. The seating availability was fine for such a small building, but I don't like how they arranged the tables really close together. Overall, I had a pretty okay experience, and I'd recommend this place for a quick bite in the morning.

I got the All-Nighter sandwich, which has an egg, bacon, cheese, and their sauce on a cheesy hashbrown bagel. This sandwich is my favorite. The sauce really sets this sandwich apart form a normal bacon, egg, and cheese bagel and the cheesy bagel makes such a big difference. The sandwiches are always made right when you order them, so they are always super warm and the cheese is perfectly melted. It can get kind of busy, and you can be waiting for a good while but overall it's not bad. The staff is friendly and they have a great variety of breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, bagels with cream cheese, coffee, drinks, pastries, and more. Einstein is always my go to when I want a warm, delicious breakfast.

Ordered the Turkey panini on Asiago Rosemary bagel. The bagel was fresh and stacked with good amount of cheese and meat. Turkey and bacon had a good smoky flavor. We ordered our bagels and then sat down to wait. The reason for the 4 stars is because we did not get our bagels until 11:05, and with an apartment tour at 11:15, this did not give us much time to enjoy our food. It seemed crazy that it took so long to put cream cheese on a bagel, and I feel like their system for preparation could be improved. Despite having to eat fast, those bagels were phenomenal. They were fresh and coated in the seasoning. Both of use got veggie cream cheese, which was surprisingly light and tasty. Neither of us felt heavy after this meal, which is normal for me when I eat cream cheese. All in all, this place was quite good and I will be back for more. Just remember to either come here early, or to not have immediate plans after the visit.
