I was excited to try their NY Bagels when in the area! For breakfast sandwiches, you choose between a NY Bagel, Croissant, Biscuit or Wheat Bread. There were several to choose from even a fun looking rainbow bagel. I got the bacon, egg & cheese on asiago bagel and loved it. My husband really enjoyed his ham, egg & cheese on a plain bagel. They make them to order, no prepared egg patty (yay!), so it took a couple of minutes which I'd wait double the time for if needed. There is a large fridge section of specialty beers & wines. I enjoyed checking them out while I waited. There are also several cozy seating options that looked inviting to post up for hours doing work or enjoying time with others. There are a few tables out front too. I'd definitely go back when in the area and hope to one day try their lunch specials too. read more

Best wood fired pizza! The prosciutto and arugula pizza was heavenly salty, savory, and with a peppery kick from the arugula. The crust was light, crisp, and had a lovely char. Pairing it with a glass of red wine made for an amazing evening. read more

My tram from work was getting together and since there is outdoor seating, decided to meet here! We had an enjoyable visit outside although it was much colder than I realized. The service was excellent. Especially since one team member forgot her mask. They provided her one no problem. Our food was great! My only suggestion which may not even be possible, is to install a propane portable heater outside We probably would have stayed longer, but we were freezing after sunset! read more

I've been coming here every now and then ever since I moved to Tuscaloosa. It's really close to my apartment and like the reviews have said the food is usually good. However, after what I experienced today I can no longer say I feel comfortable eating at this establishment. I ordered a sausage bagel sandwich. While the bagel was toasting, the lady who was handling the kitchen took my proteins on a small spatula and then placed the food on a shelf that is more than likely pretty dirty. See the photo below. I'm no health expert by any means, but this seems like a very obvious health code violation so because of this I threw the sandwich in the garbage and left. I spoke to the manager on the restaurant's Facebook page, or supposedly the manager, and he gave me some scripted BS response that I personally wasn't buying. Part of me feels like things won't change with a simple complaint. I would avoid eating here due to bad food practices. If they are willing to be this unsanitary right in front of a customer who knows what else goes on behind the scenes. Don't know if it is still there, that would have been a better option.. Why on earth did I order a Lobster roll in the middle of Alabama... As another disclaimer: I live in Maine for 3-years... The lobster roll was pretty poor. My ole lady had the sushi? (it was some sort of tuna item..) And according to her, it was "not her favorite"... The mac and cheese was farfalle with velveeta cheese poured over top. Not good at all. I guess they are known for their pizza but they weren't offering it the day we attended. I think if I would have come a bit earlier my food would have been a bit more fresh and not so "reheat" quality. I wanted the quiche Lorraine, but they were out at 2p, so I settled with the spinach quiche. It was ok, good consistency but could tell it was just reheated from a cooler because the center was still cool. The crust was flimsy and tasteless. Now, my partner ordered the Rueben sandwich and it was to die for and it was made fresh. So, I will be coming back for an earlier lunch sometime this week and hopefully with a better update! Now the wine selection and unique beverage cooler selection does make this place a very unique experience. So, hopefully the food on my next visit will be of better quality, because the overall atmosphere and experience are 5 star quality. read more

My family and I love to drop into Cravings every chance we get. Naturally the kids love the amazing variety of unique sodas and vintage candies but we all have a healthy appreciation for their menu as well. The bagels are fantastic. (My last order was a jalapeño bagel loaded with cream cheese and capers and it was out if this world delicious). My son will save up his allowance to splurge on their lobster rolls (Connecticut style). My daughter loves the quiche. But let's talk about their newest offering. Pizza. Not just any pizza - Detroit pizza. Imagine a deep dish pizza with a nice crunchy edge. Got it? Now completely dismiss that notion from your mind. This house made dough offers the sensation of a deep dish pizza crust without the heaviness. Most notably - the entire perimeter of this 8x10 slab of goodness is encased in cheese. Crispy, crunchy "deliberately burnt" white cheddar. Oh. My. Gosh. This pizza was crafted with intention and it was obvious each element (crust to cheese to marinara) was selected with great care. This pizza could very well change the course of your life. Having yet another reason to love this place makes my heart (and belly) happy. I enjoy talking to the owner and hearing his passion come through as he proudly describes his offerings. This is the kind of local place Tuscaloosa needed to serve the niche foodie market. This place has the best Reuben sandwich in Tuscaloosa. I'm from upstate New York and am used to getting a good Reuben at any diner, but there really isn't any place in town that does it right. The bread is thick and toasted and not wet from the dressing. The sauerkraut is not rinsed to much that you can't tell if there is sauerkraut or not. I love it when you have a little of the sour in every bite. The meat is good quality. Some other places in town boast lots of meat, but it's not very good quality. I usually have a wonderful experience ordering from Cravings on Door Dash. I went in with my two daughters on the morning of 11/23/24. One daughter and I got the same item except mine was to be gluten free. When we got to the car I saw that nothing was labeled gluten free. I went back in with the two bagels and asked them which was which. An employee opened one up and said this one is gluten free, the one in my left hand. I got back to the car and gave my daughter the one in my right hand. I bit into mine and knew right away that it was not a gluten free bagel, I've had to be gluten free for 11 years now. I took it back inside and asked that it be remade. We thought it was solved when the employee stated that one was gluten free. It wasn't taken seriously at all. I ended up paying for the new one even thought it was their mistake when they could have taken a marker and put 'GF' on the gluten free one the first time around. It's like a game of guess which one has the poison. read more

Popped in here for a quick breakfast. Bagel sandwiches were freshly made and delicious and I'm sure many who live downtown must hit the place regularly. I did not expect a bagel this good, this far south! Pros: The bagels were great. Well toasted and just a little chewy to hit the right spot. The eggs on the sandwich were made fresh (always positive!) and there was plenty of gooey cheese. I think they went a little light on the bacon, but it was 2 thick slices which did the job! They have an incredible and interesting collection of items. A large wine and beer selection of plenty of quality and local favorites and a large collection of candies that I haven't seen in forever. Service was fine and efficient and the woman at the counter was incredibly pleasant. Cons: The space is large, but it's a little weirdly empty. I'm guessing they get very busy on the weekday mornings. Coffee was classic (cheap) drip coffee stored in a thermos - it's certainly not an attraction but weird not to improve coffee for a place that serves breakfast all day. The owner/manager was either training a new employee or not a super-great boss. The poor kid who was taking phone orders (until they decided to stop...but still answer the phone?) and toasting bagels looked a little hurried and the owner seemed frustrated. I get it (maybe he was new), but it was so visible and I felt very bad for the poor kid. Conclusion: For a main event of quality eats and an extra of intriguing beers, wines and candies, Cravings is well worth a stop. If I were a regular, I'd ask them to up their coffee game to make it a full one-stop shop! read more

My dad and I traveled to Tuscaloosa for an event that I was in and we ate here around 10pm. We walked in and was greeted. The place was clean. The service here was not very good. There was only one guy working, about mid 20's, brown hair, he didn't speak to us other than to take our order. He didn't offer us any details on how to order or what was good. My dad placed his order and he immediately told him the total without even asking if I would like anything myself since I was ordering with him. We only realized after sitting down that drinks or side item would be a separate cost than the food. It was kind of frustrating because we had never been there before and was offered no instruction on how to place an order, or that a drink would be seperate. Despite the service, the food was great, but pricey. Two sandwiches ended up costing us $25, plus another $6 for drinks. read more
