So it's really a hit or miss these days. I have been to Biscuit Belly 3 times this past year, including today. Only 1 out of 3 times was good, today is not that time. Today everything was cool to lukewarm at best. Food did not taste fresh. Biscuit was dense rather than fluffy....and did the biscuit shrink? It was a sad experience and I could have done better at home. Took my mom again today and she said the same - she remembered it to be good, but it's not good anymore. How unfortunate. I do feel like it has to do with how busy they are.....busier, fresher food, more tasty. The last time I went when I thought the food was yummy, I remember they were busy that day. So food took longer to come out, but that's okay when the food was tasty. As it is, it's hard to want to go back nor would I recommend it. A restaurant I would frequent would be one that I can count on quality food regardless of how busy (or not busy) it is. Found this place on Yelp and wanted to try it. The line was long; literally out the door, but it moved pretty quickly and the food came out quickly. The sausage gravy was excellent. Checked out Biscuit Belly on a recent trip driving up North from Louisiana after an overnight stay nearby. Woke up with a hunger pang and knew I had to get my fix before hitting the open road. Started working my Google/Yelp fingers and found myself making immediate plans to hit up this spot before my trek resumed. I got myself a bacon, egg, and cheese of course on a biscuit. Everywhere in the world is obviously different but I did think it was a tad bit steep coming in at just under $10 for the sandwich alone, but I tried to keep that from influencing me before I gave it a shot. The woman who helped me was very friendly and the establishment (although I was taking this to go) was very clean and well lit. So the biscuit was fantastic. They make these fresh daily and you could tell. I do understand that with quality comes cost, but I still feel this is overpriced. It was fairly small and aside from the biscuit being a real winner, it was just an egg, some bacon, and a slice of cheese past that. The woman inside did suggest adding honey so I tried that after a few bites and that was a nice addition that I'd never tried before. I'll be trying a little honey on all biscuit sandwiches moving forward. Biscuit Belly definitely Didn't Suck, but I couldn't justify eating here often with those prices. read more

Last weekend (2 weeks ago) I finally got to try Biscuit Belly: Hoover. We had been out running earns and shopping and realized we had not eaten breakfast and it was close to lunch and we just so happen to be close by and this place has been on my list anyways. This place is definitely what it says it is. Biscuits everywhere man. If you're a biscuit lover then this is definitely for you! I ordered a Not Chicken and Waffle (I think that's what it was called) and basically it was a split biscuit cooked like French toast and those that know me know French toast is my favorite. I have a tier list it's French toast, waffles, then pancakes for me. Also those that know me know I don't care much for biscuits but these were good especially with the syrup on top. Now the chicken itself was nicely seasoned and I could tell they cooked it fresh. I could also tell they don't marinate their chicken which is fine but it's easily noticeable when chicken isn't marinated because you can taste it's pure white chicken breast. As I said before it was good and crunchy and still seasoned well. I liked it. I give the meal an 8/10. The service was good as well it was very crowded but the way the service was you couldn't tell. Everyone was so nice and very patient. The food came out fairly quickly as well. I was impressed and happy. 10/10 on services. Would I come back here? Area is very nice . Upon entering you place your order before being seated. The line was long but they worked it down very quickly . The cashier was very knowledgeable about the menu and didn't rush me to place an order. He actually gave recommendations which I needed being my first visit . I ordered a cappuccino with cream and caramel drizzle . Very good. My entree was The Rockwell( chicken breast, Gouda cheese, sausage gravy on a giant biscuit) and loaded potato bites . Both were delicious. The sausage gravy sauce I can eat alone. I really enjoyed my experience. The same cashier even went around to tables making sure everyone was good . That meant a lot to me . It was our last day in Birmingham and we wanted something good to eat after leaving church. After performing a brunch search on Yelp I stumbled across Biscuit Belly - Hoover and the food pictures alone had me excited to try it out. Finding the location was super simple as it sits in the plaza. As it sits in the plaza there is ample parking which makes it an even better option. Upon walking in, the space is very vibrant and visually appealing. The Biscuit Belly themed artwork is very eye-catching and adds a boutique design feel to the space. The establishment was very clean and they made great use of the space which allows for ample seating. Once you walk in, you grab a menu off the wall and head to the register to place your order. Once your order is placed, if you are choosing to dine-in, you take your number and head to your table. Super quick process with the customer in mind as it allows for the best use of time as it pertains to the overall flow of the order taking. The young man who took my order at the register was very nice. He welcomed me to Biscuit Belly - Hoover with a huge smile and as it was my first time ever, he was patient and offered me some insight into the menu options and helped me make my order selection. Super kudos as I didn't feel rushed or as if I was being a bother. He allowed my excitement to be excitement as he aided me in my choices. After speaking with him I decided to get, The Boozy Bird - Buttermilk fried chicken breast served with bourbon maple syrup and Praline Mocha - Mocha with caramel, whipped cream and topped with pralines One Word... ASTONISHING!!! The Boozy Bird had the best Buttermilk Fried Breast known to man. The breast was moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The seasoning blend was perfect for the breast and paired well with the coating. Though the chicken was amazing, the Biscuit stole the show. Hear me when I say, the biscuit is a well crafted, southern delicacy that is warm in the middle with a slight crunch on the outside. With the breast in the center the biscuit absorbs the seasoning from the coating and forms a perfect marriage of goodness. Though the marriage is great, the biscuit has the ability to stand on its own and satisfy your soul. Now... even if you don't like sweet chicken, the Bourbon Maple Syrup brings a level of appreciation to the sandwich. It's not too sweet, but has just enough sweetness to put you in the mindset of an elegant honey butter blend. Oh my gosh... this biscuit was awesome. The Praline Mocha is like nothing I've ever had before. Allow me to paint you a picture. Imagine if Homemade Pralines were layered on top of a caramel ice cream, blended together with a sprinkle of love and care then poured into a cup with whipped cream added to the top. Yep! It's just like that. Furthermore, the crumbles of Praline on top of the whipped cream add a texture layer to the drink that elevates its goodness as it adds an extra hint of almonds and caramelized sugar to the flavor of the sip that captures the pieces. This is something I need in my life that I didn't know existed until today. As my family and I enjoyed everything that was on the table before us, the experience was taken to higher heights with the service that was provided. A gentleman was walking around checking on the tables. Come to find out his name is Andrew and he is one of the owners. What makes Andrew so incredible is not only was he walking around to ensure the cleanliness of the restaurant but he was cleaning and engaging with the guests as well. He was very welcoming and inviting. We discussed the items that we all ordered and expressed our appreciation for the chef and those involved with making the food AWESOME. After Andrew shared pleasantries with us he got back to work. To my added pleasure, Andrew came back around on his next walk through and introduced us to Rachel and I love herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. LoL! Rachel is the other owner and was so down to earth and pleasant. She took time to allow us to express our gratitude for the care put into the food. Along with that she shared some insight on the flavor profiles and designs of the biscuit options. There's nothing better than Great Food with Great Friends/Family and irrefutable Great Service! Lastly, please get you an order of the Bonuts. The Bonuts have the audacity to combine the Amazing Biscuit with Cinnamon and Sugar, thennnnnnnn Andrew had the audacity to enhance my life with their homemade Berry Jam. Not only is the Jam Amazing by itself, it pairs well with the Biscuits, Bonuts, and even better... I ate it by itself as well. LoL! Don't Judge Me!! This was our first visit to Biscuit Belly and it won't be our last! The restaurant was welcoming and relaxing. We came for a late breakfast. We placed our order that was quickly brought to our table. However, upon seeing the extremely large plates full of food we quickly switched to a four seat table from our originally chosen 2 seat table. My wife and I both ordered their Belly Board breakfast that comes with 2 eggs to order, a huge biscuit and we chose their larger bowl of cheesy grits. It also came with an amazing sweet jam! Our eggs were fried perfectly to our order. We also ordered their mini biscuits gravy sampler that was a real treat and the way to see which gravy you like the best. Get in my belly, Biscuit Belly!  I initially thought Biscuit Belly was a local spot since it has a local feel. Turns out it's from Kentucky with locations throughout the southeast. And I assumed it had table service but you place your order at a counter and then seat yourself. Oh, and there's lots of parking since it's in a shopping center. Now that all that's out of the way, we had a terrific weekday brunch here. The menu was massive, and it took me a while to decide what to order. Finally I selected the biscuit bennie ($15.50) which was a biscuit sandwich consisting of tender smoked brisket and poached eggs, drizzled with a heavy hand of poblano-tomato sauce and gouda mornay, and some roasted tomatoes in the corners. Yum!  The service was cheerful and helpful. Since my sandwich was huge, I had to grab a to-go box from the drink station so I could take it with me. We visited Biscuit Belly when we stayed in Hoover on our recent football trip to University of Alabama. We ate there both Saturday and Sunday mornings. That alone will tell you that we enjoyed the food. Orders are taken at the front counter where you pay and receive a number to display at your table. When your food is ready it is brought to the table by a staff member. Staff members also bus the tables. The restaurant was very clean and orderly and the service was prompt and courteous. My husband ordered the Brekkie Bowl with smoked Brisket and Over Easy Eggs. I ordered the Garden Basket with a side of smoked Brisket. We also had coffee. Refills were self service. The food was tasty, fresh, and served hot. Prices were on par with diner breakfasts on the east coast. We'd recommend Biscuit Belly if you're in the area at breakfast time. read more

My husband and I are were here about a week ago on our anniversary. We wanted a nice breakfast and we drive by this place all the time so we decided to check them out. We went on a Saturday morning and it was packed! The line was to the door when we got there. I didn't see a menu on the wall or anywhere close so I pulled up the menu online. My husband and I figured out what we wanted and waited to get to the front. We ordered our food and we were given a number. We seated ourselves and waited. And waited. And waited. After literally 30 minutes, I went up to the counter to inquire about our food. A lady was apologetic and our food was brought to us about 1-2 minutes later. I'm not really sure what the hold up was, but that's too long of a wait. The food was good though. I'd come back here, but I need to figure out when it slows down so I can come then. read more

Came here for lunch and so glad we did. This is an order at the counter type of place and they bring it out to you. They are only open for breakfast and lunch but serve breakfast all day. My daughter ordered the belly board which was 2 eggs, potatoes, sausage, and a biscuit. She ordered a side of cheeesy grits to go with it. I got the pancakes with berries, jam and icing. 3 big pancakes came with it. It was a lot of food so I had some left to take home. We also tried the bonuts. Rolled in sugar, they also come with a side of icing. Everything was great. Fountain drinks included some unusual juices (see pic). I loved the blood orange. They also have breakfast cocktails. All the ingredients of the entire meal were of high quality for sure. But the gravy biscuits are the best I have ever eaten. The gravy immediately had an almost Alfredo taste. Had I had a blindfold test I would have thought it was my own fettuccine Alfredo sauce upon initial taste. You just cannot stop eating it. Salty, buttery, full flavor. It is awesome. I went one time after church, and the line to order went outside the restaurant. I am so glad I waited because it was delicious! The service was great and surprisingly quick, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I ordered their Chick 'n Ditch the Waffle with a side of home fries, which are just breakfast potatoes. It is their own version of chicken and waffles, but they replace the waffles with their biscuit-style French toast. It was so good that I had to replicate it at home the next day, but nothing beats their own recipe. The biscuit was fluffy and not overly sweet, and the chicken was a great pair to it. As someone who loves breakfast food, Biscuit Belly is in my top 5 breakfast places. I highly recommend this place if you also appreciate breakfast foods. read more
