I called and the woman who answered (second ring, by the way, no long drawn-out introduction message) listened patiently and empathetically as I went on, and on, and on, about how embarrassed I was and I knew better, etc. She assured me Epoch would be happy to make it all better. No pressure or hype, just bring the laptop in and Epoch will take care of getting rid of any malicious software that the hackers loaded onto my hard drive. I did that and in less than 24 hours (yes, a little $$$ extra for expedited service) my laptop was clean as a whistle. Matt and Doo Yen were wonderful. So pleasant and patient which is exactly what I needed. This hacking event spurred me on to get a new desktop and Matt came and picked up both the old and the new desktop and brought it back the next day with all of my files loaded onto my new machine. Matt made it easy for me to access all of my files which is amazing if you've ever had to bring all of your files over from an old computer to a new one. I am up and running again (I work part time for a lawyer) and I feel assured my machines are clean and running at peak speed and Epoch turned a very stressful situation into a happy ending. I am no Karen but this place was the worst. I took my elderly, handicapped father there to unlock his deceased wife's phone. We were working with Angel who told us he could do it for $75-$125. He took our information, and entered some sort of communication to someone in another location. He said he had to wait for the response then he went behind the repair desk and then out to the floor to work with another customer. My dad and I sat for about 20 minutes wondering what was going on. Tu-Sean arrived and I asked him to help us because we didn't know what was going on. No one communicated to us. As far as we knew, we were being helped and then Angel left us to help someone else without communicating to us. Tu-Sean became VERY defensive, supercilious, and condescending. All I wanted to know was what was going on. I tried to explain no one communicated and he raised his voice to speak over me and tell me it takes time and I needed to be patient. I tried to explain our perspective but he became louder and more condescending so I picked up the cell phone and told my dad we were leaving. Tu-Sean followed me out of the store yelling at me and telling me there wasn't any place else that could do what they were going to do. I told him to stop talking and stop following me. I admit I called him an a-hole because he was yelling at us and treating us like he was superior and we were idiots. I stopped walking on the sidewalk on the way to my car, turned around and he came up to me about an inch away from my face. He was un-masked. I told his to walk away and stop accosting me. He acted as if he was going to attack me, or hit me. And this was supposed to convince me to go back into the store and give him our business? I told him again he was unprofessional and rude and to leave us alone. He continued to yell and act like a playground bully as I got into my car and drove away. The BEST part of this was that we drove to a place called U Break It, I Fix It and guess what? The service tech there pressed a couple of buttons and reset the phone within 2 minutes and didn't charge us anything. So not only was CPR and Tu-Sean unprofessional, but they are frauds and a rip-off. Don't set foot there. You're better off going somewhere else or buying a new phone.
