Customer service told me to go to the store. At the store, the manager tried the same steps on my phone, hit the same error, then said he'd get his iPad. He never came back. Instead, another employee appeared, admitted he didn't know the process, and offered only excuses: "new system," "account too big," "call the business liaison." No one could solve a basic problem. The runaround is unbelievable. The incompetence is unacceptable. This is why customers lose trust in AT&T.

A rep named Jeff at this store blatantly lied to me. He told me I couldn't purchase my new phone outright (false) and needed to wait a month before coming back to pay it, said I wasn't eligible for a trade-in (also false), and without my knowledge or consent, added insurance and "Next Up" to my account. Put me on a monthly payment plan without telling me or asking me. He said all I'd pay that day was sales tax and for accessories but wouldn't be charged for phone until Aug 5 when I would be able to buy it outright. Worst of all, he removed a discount I've had on my line for over a decade without telling me. I had a bad feeling when he avoided eye contact during the sale. Now I know why. It took over an hour on the phone with customer service to clean up the mess. Guess his commission check was more important than integrity. Thankfully, a wonderful rep named Ziad helped correct what Jeff did. But this experience was dishonest, manipulative, and unacceptable. AT&T needs to hold its reps accountable. I strongly recommend avoiding this location. This was Garner, NC.

Most of the time I am greeted at the door and checked in to be seen by the next available employee. There is a screen on the wall showing the queue for those waiting to be served. Fortunately they have a few fun time killers around, such as DIRECTV on a big screen, cornhole, and a basketball toss game. This location can be busy, and the parking lot that is shared with the Starbucks next door can make parking a little difficult at times.

I was greeted and directed to Dennis L., who promptly brought out the 3G Microcell, put my information in the system, and told me this was free as a thank you for being an AT&T customer. I wasn't treated as some guy trying to get a free item. Their professionalism and prompt service was appreciated.

IMO, lacking customer service skills. Not that she's necessarily rude but she's far from approachable. Stoic and stern, void of direct eye to eye contact and dismisses you before confirming that your issue has been resolved. On at least 2 occasions I had to politely interrupt her to let her know that the issue we were addressing before she prematurely moved on to another customer, was not resolved. It's always a very odd transaction with this particular rep...I have no idea why. I've worked in customer service for over 2 decades so I understand the potential challenges. I also understand that customer engagement is necessary for any semblance of customer satisfaction. I will not visit this store again.

Beware of Verizon Cellular Sales in Garner, NC…read more I went to the Verizon store in Garner, NC, and they offered a good deal: $600 off for changing plans or $400 off for sticking with my plan, both requiring me to give back my phone. They even agreed to let me return the phone after a month because I was traveling for my wedding. But when I came back, they claimed I was one day late and only gave me $25 instead of $400. When I asked for my phone back, they refused. After hours of talking, they only upped it to $95. They insisted they had explained everything clearly, but it sure didn't seem that way to me. It feels like they'll say anything to close a sale and then backtrack. My advice? Stay away from Verizon retailers like Cellular Sales and go straight to Verizon. Don't get caught in their trap like I did. It's not worth the hassle or the feeling of getting ripped off. Avoid at all costs! p.s. of course they will argue they were right after this rating.
