I received a blowout here, and unfortunately, the heat used during the service left my hair with a strong burnt odor and noticeable split ends. I have tape-in extensions that were already chemically processed to a ginger color, so appropriate heat care was especially important. Based on the condition of my hair afterward, I was very concerned about heat damage. I contacted the salon to explain the situation and requested a refund because I did not feel comfortable returning for a corrective service or having additional heat applied to my hair. My request was denied, and I found the response to my concerns dismissive and unprofessional. I was also concerned that, during our phone conversation, the stylist who performed my service falsely represented himself to me as the location manager. I have since escalated my concerns through the appropriate corporate channels. Mistakes can happen, but I believe how a business responds to a customer's concerns is equally important. Based on my experience, I would recommend exercising caution if you have extensions or chemically processed hair.

I mentioned it to Laurin, and she apologized, said it would come off in a few days and that toothpaste could help remove it faster. She also said she'd make a note so it wouldn't happen again next time. Unfortunately, at my appointment on June 22, it happened again. This time, there was enough color on my skin that I was wiping it off with a napkin while still sitting in the chair. Even so, I later discovered additional staining on my forehead, ears, and neck when I got home. What disappoints me most is that I shared this feedback in the text message I received after my appointment and haven't heard from anyone since. Honestly, that's the part that surprised me. Mistakes happen, but after it happened a second time--especially after we had already discussed it during my first visit--I would have appreciated at least an acknowledgment or follow-up. I almost didn't bother writing this review because the whole thing has been such a bummer. I'm only leaving it here as information for anyone who might find it helpful.

While I'm happy with how my perm turned out, the salon was overbooked. I completely understand stylists working with other clients while hair is processing, but my digital perm took about 6 hours, with a lot of waiting when I was clearly ready for the next step because my stylist was occupied with other clients. He was called on by the front desk at least 3 times that new/different clients were ready for him. My friend and I were both there for over six hours--surprisingly, her full highlights took even longer. I was also confused by the pricing. During the consultation, I was told that a certain hair length would put the perm at around $400, while keeping the length I wanted would make it closer to $600. That was already surprising considering it was only about a 2-inch difference in length for roughly $200 more. But then my hair was cut to approximately the shorter length anyway, and my final price was still $550. I'm not really sure how the pricing was calculated based on that. My friend's highlights were $500, even though her hair is shorter than mine, and her hair ended up looking surprisingly similar to how it did before. Between both of our services, the pricing felt very high for the overall experience. I do want to emphasize that I'm satisfied with how my perm looks and appreciated the care my stylist took while he was actually working with me. Unfortunately, between the six-hour appointment, the amount of waiting, and the price, I'm not sure the experience was worth it for me.

Jennifer agreed to accommodate me and even stayed after hours to work on me. She assessed my hair and decided what to do (we ended up removing 50% of the extensions -- the previous salon had added too much hair so she could charge me for more hair, which was one of the reasons I ended up looking like I was wearing a wig). Jennifer cut the width of the extensions and replaced them at the most natural position for my head shape, and blended everything together seamlessly. Jennifer, you are amazing!!! Thank you so much. I will definitely be back!

I have long, thick hair that Cayley handles like no one else I've ever been to. My hair is naturally medium brown, and after two sessions, she brought me up to an ashy blonde balayage all while keeping the integrity of my hair. I've been looking for a salon that carries Olaplex, Joico, and other high-end products, which is EXACTLY what she has. Nothing less than the best. I will say, my favorite part about Crimp by Cayley is how Cayley keeps it real with you. When I brought in a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like, she fully explained what it would take and the steps to get there, instead of saying she could and falling short of it - like other hair dressers have in the past. Not to mention that the studio is bomb - those walls are so cool that I might just hire the person who did them to come do an accent wall in my apartment!! Never will I go to anyone else. read more

Pricing - Good hair extensions are not cheap. Some salons charge in the 4-figure range as they take hours to put in. ( quality hair + hourly charge = $$$) So having said that, Claire's prices are reasonable when compared across the board.
