Ended up here by accident and was so happy we did! It was my friend's birthday, we were trying to do an early lunch and everything was crowded at 1PM on Sunday, with a big wait. We wandered into Crispy's, and the bartender Jason was super friendly, and we got seats immediately and drinks quickly after that! Ended up doing birthday shots, drinking bottomless mimosas and eating a really great lunch. The food was really good! And very fresh. My friend ordered a roasted beet salad, and I had bruschetta with Prosciutto. So good! I saw a lot of pizza being ordered, and that looked and smelled delicious. Jacksonville's pizza game is strong! I have to admit that until my recent visit, Crispy's wasn't even on my radar, but it is a fantastic pizza experience! Inside is casual but classy. Deep rich wood and brick. The perfect place to hang out with friends or watch a game. Really clean. Our service was great. Our waitress checked in with us often and everything came on quickly on a relatively busy day. We ordered the Laura St. pizza. Just the prefect blend of flavors. The pizza is stellar on its own, but the combination of prosciutto, fig, and balsamic just hits every tastebud you have. The crust is the star here though. If you like NY, thin crust style pizza, you'll love this. It is thin, it's crispy, it's delicious on its own. It's a unique texture that I've only found here and I highly encourage you to try it. Crispy's was having a Wu-Tang, whiskey, wings, wine down Wednesday. It was my first time going and seemed like a cool opportunity to go. The place is very spacious with tables and plenty of bar seating. I ordered wings, and a friend ordered bruschetta for the table. The food was really good! I ordered mild buffalo wings and they were seasoned very well and had a slight crunch which was nice. I ordered the mild to get a sense of the spice used because every place seems to be different. Their mild is truly a no spice mild for reference. I'll try the hot ones next time. The bruschetta was also very good and made with fresh produce, sprinkled generously with arugula and a balsamic drizzle. Also ordered by others at the table was pizza, and they spoke very highly of it. Given the food and ambience was great, I could not give it less than 4 stars. However, I must say the service was unfortunately not good. They seemed understaffed and our server kept forgetting things and was not knowledgeable. For example, the wines were BOGO and I asked what kind did they have (there is no drink menu). She said we have "the reds and the whites". I decided based on this answer not to get wine. I was waiting for her to return so I could order a cocktail and because it was taking so long, I decided to order directly from the bar. Unfortunately, there was one bartender and a good amount of guests sitting at the bar. The good news is the bartender was very focused on each guest as he helped them. The bad news is it took a long time to get helped because he was by himself. He was very kind and not at all frustrated with the volume of work he was responsible for. Ultimately it seems they were not staffed for the volume of customers they received for their special event. I do think they need more staff. I also think they should create a drink menu or educate their server on their drink offerings (other than saying they have a full bar and for wine they have the reds and the whites). I do think based on the food, it is worth a visit. I would check them out again and hope the service experience was a one off. read more

We were in the area for the vinyl event and decided to get a pizza to share at Crispy's. It was moderately busy for midday on a Sunday, but we were able to choose a table. Service was great, very attentive and checking in on us frequently. I may have found my new favorite pizza. The crust is everything, literally crispy and delicious. It is both light and airy and crunchy and chewy, all in the best ways. We ordered the Laura Street pizza but I would have enjoyed anything on that crust. The Laura Street has a fantastic combo of sweet figs and prosciutto along with the option of adding a balsamic glaze. The togo cups for our drinks just topped off a perfect pizza visit. read more

We were planning on stopping by a friend of ours house for a small party this evening, but they were feeling under the weather so we switched things up and went to Crispy's Jax over in Springfield. We've been to Crispy's a handful of times over the past few months and tried a few things on the menu. Nearly every time we've been there we've seen pizzas go by us and thought "dang, we really need to try their pizza some time". So when we decided to go there tonight I figured we'd finally do that. In addition to that, my wife informed me that she was going to have Garlic Knots no matter what. So yes, we ordered Garlic Knots to start. I don't know why, but I was expecting them to be a bit tough. I guess maybe I've just had them at other places and they're usually thick / tough, so that's what I figured these would be. They weren't. They were really soft, in the best way. Not doughy or under cooked, just soft, warm and very good! We debated what pizza to go with and eventually settled on The Klutho, which is more or less their meat lovers pizza. We also did the garlic butter crust at the suggestion of our server. I'll start by saying thank you to our server for that suggestion because that was some good crust. I'm happy to report that we both thought the pizza tasted as good as we both thought it looked every time it went by us before. Let me put it this way: if the pizza in my photo looks great to you, yes, it's that good. Like I said, we've been to Crispy's a few times over the past couple of months and we just like the place a lot. We didn't plan to go there tonight when the day began but I'm glad it worked out that we ended up there. Now we've got about half a pizza to split for work-from-home lunches over the next few days. Great spot in Springfield for drinks, pizza and more. The build your own calzone was massive. I had a salad to accompany my meal and that was also huge, could share it between 2-4 people. Service was good and food came out quickly since it wasn't super busy. The restaurant is easy to find and parking is available on street. Good visit, with no issues. The slices I got were noticeably uneven and different sizes, and looked like they had been sliced by Stevie Wonder. The Caesar salad is more dressing than salad, with croutons from the bag. I recall coming here years ago and the food being above average, but definitely not the case now. Been here before on St. Patrick's day. This time I had the Italian Salad it was amazing and large. I made for a great lunch the next day. I asked for a Blue Moon and Oktoberfest, didn't like changes to a Dukes. Isaac said he had not the ability to take off my check and that the blue moon was less the cost. It had been a while since I was in Crispy''s and boy has it gone down hill. The vibe was 'frat house local community college' at best. The bartender was foul-mouthed with a minor present, dropping f-bombs left and right. If I was the parent in that situation, I would gathered my things and left immediately. I am giving Crispy's 3 stars bc of the staff and pizza alone. The Laura was amazing!! Meatballs were def not fresh and the "sauce" is straight up tomato paste. Caprese was good, but not much can go wrong there. We went at an odd time and the place was pretty empty with plenty of seating options. There's no fluff here and very casual, perfect for a quick drink. Love that they do HH on the weekends. The staff were very friendly and fun. Upon entering, I immediately got the neighborhood sports bar vibe, similar to Cheers. My sister and I walked around the tables for a bit to see where we'd like to sit and ultimately decided to sit at the bar. Unfortunately, I had to switch out my barstool for another because the bottom was falling apart. Additionally, the counter at the bar was quite sticky. We asked the bartender to clean it, which he did, but afterwards, it was still sticky. When I asked if I could borrow the washcloth, he offered to wipe it down again. I also ordered the Jose wings, which were absolutely delicious, while my sister ordered another dish, but I can't recall what it was at this time. Stumbled onto Crispy's by accident and loved the look and layout of the place. We came back the next day for some food and drinks midday on a Saturday. Place was quiet when we arrived, but definitely ramping up as we left. You can see this is a well established place for both locals and new comers. All the food we had came out well, especially the Laura Pizza. Drinks were on point and service was timely. I'm so sad to be leaving this review that I put it off for days, but I think management needs to be aware of how their changes are landing with customers. First of all, if you haven't been to Crispy's before, I still recommend it. It's still a pretty good pizza at a good price, I'm just sad because it's not as good as before and I'm very picky, so that's a major blow to my local restaurant options. The service and atmosphere are also fantastic as always. Crispy's has been my favorite pizza place in town pretty much since it opened, and when it first became Crispy's 2.0, I actually thought the pizza was even better than before. However, at our most recent visit, it was seriously less good than before. The option for mascarpone to be added to the pizza was gone, and the amount of herbs added to the pizza was clearly meant to disguise that the rest of it was no longer as flavorful as before. This seems to be an effort to cut costs because the ingredients used more than before were more affordable (very heavy mozzarella and ricotta rather than a balanced variety of cheeses and white sauce, mainly). Also, the box was smaller than before and didn't fit the pizza in it properly, so it had to be stacked on top of itself in a manner that kind of ruins it. I want the management to know that if it's financially impossible to continue providing the same pizza as before at the same price point, which is understandable, they should just make it more expensive instead of compromising on quality! I'd gladly pay a little more for the best pizza in town instead of paying a low price for a mediocre pizza. The current price is very low and while that's very nice, I don't think anyone would fault the restaurant for increasing it to a normal pizza restaurant price if that enables a return to the previous high quality. read more

After we ordered we were chatting and looking around at the artwork. My bf looked up and saw how disgusting the vents and ceiling were. We should have canceled and walk out then but we gave it a try. I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich with the cucumber and tomato salad. There was barely any pesto which is crappy since it's the first ingredient in the name. The chicken tasted ok and the bread was ok. The cucumber and tomato salad was good. My bf didn't want a large pizza to himself so the server suggested getting the type he wanted on a flatbread. Crispy's is a great lunch or happy hour spot located right in Springfield! I went on a Wednesday and had lunch at the bar with amazing service. I ordered the pizza special which comes with two pizzas, a salad and a drink. I believe these two slices were the Hubbard and the Main Street pizza for $11.75 and they were delicious. Crispy is now a pin mark in the Springfield neighborhood. It's restore and restoration of years ago was one of the best things to happen here. It was a springboard for the areas Revival. Crispys is more than a pizza joint. It's a event center, a cocktail lounge and the menu has several great options. Tonight I ordered the meatballs and paired it with a caesar salad it was delicious and downed in seconds. My friends let me taste their dessert..a Tiramisu Martini...yum..a definite good choice.
